Basically as advertised. It was a great way to get out in the morning and see the City Walls. Short swim at the cave. I'd recommend bringing your own snorkeling equipment if you plan to snorkel as theirs wasn't the best. You don't actually get to see much Lokrum so if that's something that's important for you I would suggest a different tour or take the ferry after kayaking to explore.
Did X-Adventures with my partner on the sunset tour. Joseph was our guide and was so knowledgeable of the area and just a cool friendly dude. It was so much more worth it than I had expected.
Wonderful experience with Edin and Dion. They were great guides and Edin was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of background about Dubrovnik during the kayaking tour.
Joseph was an exceptional guide. We enjoyed the kayaking but was disappointed that we didn't go to Lokrum island as was promised.
What can I say? Joseph was so incredibly intelligent, inspirational and cool! He had so many interesting stories to tell of the area and was a very kind soul! We loved this experience!
I did the sunset kayak tour, and it was such a unique experience getting to see Dubrovnik from a completely different perspective from the water. Definitely worth it! Sebastijan was one of our guides, and he was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Wonderful day trip! The guide gave us a nice tour by speedboat to tour the Bay of Kotor, the submarine tunnels, and the Blue Cave. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour.
Lovely- beautiful afternoon on the water with our guide Nemo. Gorgeous scenery & swimming cave. Definitely recommend this experience.
Our guide Marjan was very helpful. Swimming in the cave was very refreshing. Don't recommend swimming at the starting point as I could smell sewer in that area. We went by Lokram Island but did not stop at the island. Recommend bringing your snorkeling gear if you want to snorkel at the caves.
Highlight of our Dubrovnik trip. Great guides with thoughtful touches (i.e. wet bags, bottled water, etc). Wonderful mellow guides that ensured everything went smoothly.
Thr meeting place was communicated well, although there are 3 different kayak vendors there so you need to ask. But our leader was super friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a safety briefing and some helpful info to make our kayaking experience more smooth.
The tour was small only 4 2-person kayaks and Ed. He stopped along the way and gave us a little rest and provided some history of the area and other interesting facts. The water was mesmerizing and so beautiful. Not to mention the perspective of the city and city walls.
We had a terrific time. Thank you Ed
This was a fun tour! We didn't kayak around the island, instead we kayaked to a small beach past old town and we were able to swim around a little bit before kayaking back.
The only thing that could be improved upon is the meeting point directions. There are multiple kayaking tours going out of the same area, so it takes a little bit of time to find the right one.
You need just a regular healthy status to do the activity, and for sure you will enjoy it.
The cave is a must.
We had a fabulous time kayaking around the old town and to a beautiful cave where we were able to snorkel and swim completely away from any crowds. Our guide, Marijan, was wonderful and so informative. 5 easy stars!!!
I absolutely loved this experience. My experience was exactly as stated and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
We went with Sebastian who was engaging and knowledgeable.
The kayaking equipment was in great condition. The kayaking it self was really fun and weather conditions were great. There is not really much to look at snorkeling-wise but still saw some fish.
We even went cliff jumping at the lagoon and it was really fun. I wouldn’t have tried this in Croatia, despite it being a popular activity, had it not been for this trip.
I am also happily surprised that we were able to pack in all this into the 2-2.5 hrs we had. This is a perfect tour to fit into a busy schedule.
Highly recommend as long as you are relatively fit
Great guide. Enjoyed the day and the stunning views. Learned a little history, swam in a cave and took time to cliff jump too.
We really enjoyed the experience, but you don’t actually go to Lokrum. The cave was cool & our guide, Joseph, was fantastic!
It is very fun especially the snorkelling. It is also very calming as you are on the sea with friends
Did this with my family and we had an ok time. The Adriatic Sea is undeniably beautiful and it was nice to be out on the water. However, the tour guide blew ahead of the group on the water, hardly engaged with us outside of a few comments of history (~4 or 5 total minutes of talking to the group during the whole 2 hours) or provide us with any snorkeling tips at the 25 minute stop for "snorkeling." He quickly disappeared to be on his phone in the shade. We also found out while we were paddling out of that area that cliff jumping was an option, but our guide made no mention of it. There was really nothing exciting to see in the snorkeling spot and there were only 4 snorkels even though we were a group of 12. I suppose it's a good thing there wasn't anything exciting to see because most people wouldn't have gotten to experience it anyway. After the trip was over our guide didn't even say thank you or goodbye to our group. We very much got the impression that he didn't want to be there. He didn't even help our group get off of our kayaks when we got back to the starting point. As soon as the tour was over we saw him hastily leave the area without a comment. Sorry to say it, but that might've been the worst tour guide I've experienced. Maybe this tour is much better with a good guide because I'm shocked that this tour's reviews are so high.
Loved this kayaking experience. Had an amazing time as a family and enjoyed the swimming break at Betina Cave very much. The views were amazing, water was crystal clear, the guide was excellent and we learnt a lot about Dubrovnik.
Mauro gave us a great tour of Dubrovnik from the water as we kayaked and saw different perspective of the city. About 2/3 of the way through we stopped at a swimming beach where you could also snorkel. The waves are a bit choppy so you have to be comfortable with being on the water.
Sebastian was kind and professional. Small group. Great stories. Beautiful scenes. Morning is exceptional time for the tour.
Eddie was a wonderful tour guide!!! The sights were to die for. We had an energetic group that stayed together on the tour. The snorkling was great also! The drinking water and waterproof bags for belongings were also a nice touch to complete the experience. We received some background history of the area, events, and restaurants advice for enjoying the rest of our stay on the coast.
Great guys, and the kayaking experience was top notch. Remember to have a few euros for a tip at the end, as they earn it. In this age where you only carry plastic its difficult to have the change.
So much fun! Nemo was a great guide. He gave detailed instructions on the best way to paddle and get in and out of the kayak which were much appreciated. He was an informative and friendly guide, and gave many chances for us to ask questions.
Beautiful day on the water and nice to get a little exercise! Especially enjoyed the stop at the cave. Nemo was the best guide!! Two hours was the perfect length.
Our guide, Sebastian, was very personable and encouraging to new and experienced kayakers alike. The water was crystal clear. The views of Old Town Dubrovnik and the rest of the shoreline were stunning. The cave where we stopped to swim and snorkel was amazing. I recommend seeing Dubrovnik from this point of view, exploring the cave, and enjoying the beautiful Adriatic Sea.
The trip was beautiful and we enjoyed the scenery, but I’d definitely say be prepared for a proper workout!
We had our 6-year-old sitting in the middle of our kayak and it was a long paddle, especially with the current and waves. You need to be reasonably strong and have good stamina.
The biggest downside for us was that the guide got quite far ahead and didn’t wait when we were struggling. At one point the current and waves pushed us towards the cliffs and we came very close to crashing into them, which was quite stressful with a young child on board.
The cave was beautiful but extremely crowded. I’d recommend booking the first trip of the morning or the last trip of the day if you want a quieter experience.
Also worth knowing that you don’t actually visit Lokrum Island on this tour – you kayak past and see it from a distance.
Overall, beautiful views and an enjoyable experience, but harder work than we expected and I think the group could have been kept together more carefully in the stronger currents
Amazing tour. Staff were fantastic and knowledgeable. You do have to be reasonably fit as it’s around 3 miles but it was a stand out highlight for our children. Bring water shoes for the swim stop and maybe your own snorkel if you’re fussy about equipment. Beautiful calm seas, stunning scenery and wet bags provided to protect your belongings. Would definitely do this again.
Had a great time. Beautiful views, knowledgable guide Avi. Wasn’t the most comfortable experience (sore on the back having to sit with legs at 90° while paddling). Lovely little beach and cave but got too busy with multiple kayak groups arriving and leaving such a small space, so very little time to spend in water snorkelling or swimming. But it was still worth it for the views and experience.
