Good introduction to Dubrovnik

The tour starts at the fountain near the entrance to the gates of Dubrovnik. You guide takes you all around Dubrovnik by doing circut of the city walls. There you will learn a great deal about the story of Dubrovnik - from it's inception - to the independent republic and it's diplomacy to the Yugoslavian war. To note it is great deal of exercise. Those of weak constitution are advised. From the walls you then get a brief guided tour of the main street in Dubrovnik and how it evolved after a major earthquake in the Baroque guide period.My guide Josip was knowledgeable. He had some great insights and some funny comments in general. This tour is a good way to introduce yourself to Old Town Dubrovnik.
