We were a group of nine girl friends who had the absolute best time touring with Shane. From start to finish,Shane made the experience so much fun and memorable.
Shane was friendly, knowledgeable, fun, and such a great host.We shared so many laughs and created memories that the nine of us will be talking about for years to come!

A great option for a slice of life view of Ireland’s pub culture. Really gets off the beaten path and the locals at each pub were eager and excited to meet us. The small group format and stops at several pubs allows you to make quick friends with your fellow travelers. Shane is an excellent tour guide and his energy is infectious and fun. Highly recommended.
Shane is the best! This is our second time taking this tour and it was well worth it. I highly recommend this tour for those who like Irish beer and lots of fun!
Taking time to visit Ireland's countryside pubs is one of the best ways to experience local pub culture - it's a slice of life in each of the carefully selected pubs - all a little different. Shane is an expert in beer (and cider!) and can tell you pretty much everything about beer, he knows everyone, they know him and it's 9 hours of pure fun...we had a blast... Just go you'll be glad you did!
This was a great experience exploring the culture and countryside of the Wicklow Mountains. It was fun to see the contrast to the busy, more commercial, Dublin pubs. We got to meet a lot of great local people and even got to enjoy an authentic Irish pub music jam session. We were a group of 7, ages 23-61, along with others on the tour, and Shane did a fantastic job at keeping everyone engaged and having fun! Lots of great intimation and the travel music and sing alongs were a bonus!
This was our second time doing this tour and it’s just awesome Shane is the perfect host if you want to get out of the city and see the mountains and meet some locals this is the trip 5 stars totally worth it .

One of the best tours I have ever taken!!! We had so much fun on this pub tour through the Wicklow Mountains, led by Shane, our driver and guide. We participated with 6 of our family and friends along with another group that were on the van with us. Shane was outstanding as he told us stories, explained background of all 6 pubs and drinks that were available at each pub. He organized a tremendous dinner stop that was one of the best we had during our stay in Dublin. We all bonded during our adventure while we laughed, sang and drank in some very special rural pubs. Thank you Shane!

Absolutely amazing experience, my wife and I got married in Ireland and this was our last adventure before heading home. I cannot recommend this trip enough, was an absolute blast and we made lots of good memories.

Shane was an absolute star—an exceptional host and driver who was knowledgeable, warm, and endlessly entertaining. His stories, insights, and singing brought the landscape to life and made the experience feel uniquely personal. This tour didn’t just meet expectations—it far exceeded them. It was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience, and we’re already counting the days until we can return. If you’re visiting Ireland, Wicklow Mountain Tours is an absolute must!
The best experience we could have imagined! Our guide, Shane, was full of spirit and knowledge and took us to places that we could not have found on our own. Shane also knew the locals at each stop and introduced us to them and it was fun talking with them. In between stops we chatted about Ireland, listened to Irish music and learned the meaning behind some of the traditional songs. Shane gave us a menu for dinner and had our food ordered before going to the pub that served us. It was delicious! Shane was also knowledgeable about the beer and whiskey served at each stop which helped us choose what we wanted to try. At our last stop, we listened to what they call a “session” where several locals gathered to play banjos, violins, piccolo/flute, and guitar. It was amazing!!! 100 out of 5 stars, we will do this again.
This was the best tour ever. Everyone was so kind and our guide Shane was funny. The energy throughout was unmatched and I would do it again.

Shane did an amazing job. From the time when he introduced himself we knew we were going to have an amazing time. The van was roomy and we had great music to listen to in between pubs. Along the way Shane shared lyrics and got us ready for our live music at the last stop. The pubs were all amazing, Blue Light, Johnie Fox's, Tochar House, Glenmalure, Phelan Grocer and Hibernia to finish. Each place had an incredible story and lots of good rural culture to enjoy. Beers and drinks were all reasonably priced and the food at the Glenmalure was delicious. You will definitely miss out if you do not schedule this tour!!

Shane is a gem! I am so glad we booked this tour, it was the best part of our trip to Dublin. Getting out of the city and visiting much less touristy pubs and listening to trad music I feel gave us a much richer experience than if we had just stayed in the city.
Shane is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to music and beer, which is exactly what we signed up for!

My husband & I had low expectations for this tour, beyond hoping to see some nice views and have some drinks along the way. Wow - our expectations were wayyyy too low. This was hands down, the best experience we’ve done this trip (and we’ve been to the Gap of Dunloe, Giant’s Causeway, Dunlace Castle, Cliff’s of Moher, Dublin everything … and have absolutely loved it all!!!). We spent the day with 14 strangers (including Shane, our tour guide, who we will never visit Ireland again without seeing), who ended up being family. We sang, we saw incredible sights, we talked, we laughed, we shared, we ate, we listened, and yes - we enjoyed some drinks. We had people on the tour who didn’t drink alcohol and were truly just as much a part of the group as anyone else. We had younger people. We had older people. We had men & we had women. We had solo travelers and we had couples and some larger friend groups. We had people from across the globe. And the best part? It was a day of strangers who hadn’t yet become friends. And we sure are now. I will never forget this experience. The pubs were incredible. Without this tour, we’d have never gone so far into the mountains to visit these special gathering places. We mixed and talked to locals we would have never otherwise been able to meet. We listened to incredible musicians. Incredible musicians, I just have to say it again. We ate AMAZING food. I have a horrible food allergy and I can’t stop thinking about how hard Shane worked to make sure I had a delicious meal. I mean, I have a food allergy for crying out loud! I have NO expectation that anyone needs to cater to such a unique issue. I wasn’t going on the tour to eat - I was going to enjoy the rest of the tour. But Shane? He wouldn’t hear of it - no matter how much I reassured him that I was entirely okay without a meal. And the meal? Wow. Incredible - thanks only to Shane and the wonderful restaurant who was messaging with him via text before we got there to make sure I had a beautiful meal. We saw sights that will be in my head forever. It was the easiest, most fun day I’ve ever had. My husband and I woke up the next morning, laughing and smiling … we had pictures and memories of new friends that have become family. And Shane, our amazing leader. God smiled on this human … because he is truly one of a kind. Funny, witty, kind-hearted, a memory of gold. He is a beautiful human and I am forever better because of him. My husband agrees. I still don’t know what we did right in the world to have found this human & this insanely awesome tour - but we’ve now joined the group of lucky humans who will never come back to Ireland without doing this tour. Do not miss this! Whatever you do with your precious time & money in Ireland, do not miss this experience. Two days later & I’m still in awe. Thank you, dear Shane and our forever friends!!!

We were a group of five sharing a bucket list trip. We had so much fun in this pub tour with Shane as our guide! He is so knowledgeable, personable and engaging. He took us to some local pubs in the beautiful Wicklow mountains and told us about some of the beers and ciders served in each pub. He also had us singing along to some Irish tunes during the drive. We could not have asked for a better guide and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this tour with Shane!
