The tour is a short 45 min ride on a boat over to the cliffs of Howth and arround Ireland's Eye the home of many birds and seals, if you're lucky you can also see the dolphins.

We decided to head out of Dublin to Howth for the afternoon and were able to purchase last minute tickets. Just as we departed the pier it started raining fairly heavily. Our wonderful captain, Ollie, adjusted the itinerary to better protect the passengers. We stayed close to shore and went past a lighthouse. As we were returning, the sun came out and we were treated to a full rainbow. As a result of the weather change, Ollie took us for a little extra trip around the Irish Eye island. He was absolutely the quintessential seasoned Irish boat captain and made our trip one to remember.

This boat tour was a very nice experience. The staff checking the tickets was very friendly. The boat was nice and tidy and we had enough space to watch this or the other side. So we could highly recommend this tour. The only thing we would have appreciated more, would have been some more personal touch, like a short welcome by the captain, telling us something about the tour, which direction we would go, what to expect to see and so on. Some information came from a tape through a loud speaker and was not always clear to understand. And we couldn't ask any question if we had some. We understand that the captain had to concentrate on sailing, but just to get some information before we even left the harbour would have been nice. But thanks anyway, we really enjoyed it.

Beautiful boat ride around the harbor and protected island. Be prepared to bundle up with it being much cooler/windy at sea (vessel doesn't have an indoor area so you're exposed to the elements). There is an audio recording for significant sights while the captain stops for photo opportunities. Easy to access via public transportation from Howth DART station.

It was a lovely experience, with my niece. It was her first time on the boat. It was quite choppy because of the weather but the captain had no bother going through the rough waters. The captain was also lovely and helpful.

I would highly recommend this excursion around the beautiful coast at Howth. The tour was very informative and gave a superb overview of the history and the wildlife of the area. We topped it off afterwards with fish and chips and ice cream!

The BEST Irelands Eye Experience

The waters were rough but that didn’t scare myself or the captain away. You cannot appreciate Irelands eye properly until you have seen it from the open water side. I had hoped to see more water life but was informed that is more common I. The other side of Ireland. All and all this was a wonderful must do.
