David Ryan, our guide, led us on a tour to fit our interests in past and contemporary Irish history. He’s extremely knowledgeable. Additionally, I’m interested in Irish music and he took us to see the place where Paddy Maloney helped start The Chieftains and supported other Irish musicians. And, you should ask David to sing an Irish tune. You will have a treat! Awesome guide!

David made our trip with his incredibly informative and energetic tour. He started out with an amazing rendition of Molly Malone that garnered applause from everyone standing around the statue.
He kept our kids engaged the entire time and we all learned so much. He went above and beyond to spend extra time showing us a few extra sites we were interested in. David’s knowledge is incredible and his storytelling ability second to none. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a fantastic tour of Dublin.

David is a very interesting and involving guide. He’s was able to give us all the facts and details in a clear and concise manner. I had not realized we were the only guests with him so it felt have having a new friend taking us around the city of Dublin, and letting us in in all the history. We were blessed with a mostly dry and sunny day.

My husband and I took this walking tour as a port stop on a cruise. David was our guide. We also wanted to visit Trinity College and the Book of Kells so David suggested that we complete our visit to those places first. This suggestion worked perfect so that we didn't have to cut our walking tour short. David was a fabulous tour guide! Since we are used to walking at home, we gave David free rein to go at his pace so that we could see as much as possible on our tour. Although it rained off and on throughout the tour, David was able to find places for us to get out of the rain while he talked. We walked a lot, learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed this tour! (Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.)

We had such a great walking tour of Dublin with David!! We did it on our second day of our trip and it was the perfect thing to do early on so we could get acquainted with the city. Felt like we saw all the must see stops and we got a great lesson in Irish history along the way. David really knew his stuff and was such a great storyteller. I definitely felt as if I learned a ton in the three hours we spent together!
Would highly recommend for anyone new to Dublin and/or wanting to learn more about Irish history! You won’t regret doing this - the experience was 10/10!

This was by far more than a five star tour! David came fully prepared with facts, dates, tons of information, energy, and smiles. He was extremely knowledgeable about every detail regarding Dublin history, architecture, geography, and the delightful tales of his people. David went above and beyond with songs and additional photos and items of interest in a portfolio he carried. He added a “wee bit” of extra time joyfully and graciously to make sure that my Dublin experience was magnificent! Very highly recommend!

We had the absolute pleasure of spending an afternoon with David, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. From the moment we met him, David was friendly, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided us through the most historic and iconic parts of the city, weaving fascinating stories and rich history into every stop. He is incredibly passionate about his city and it was both infectious and inspiring.
What really stood out was how much effort David put in before and after the tour. He was extremely responsive, offering a wealth of recommendations for food, drinks, and things to do beyond the tour. We followed many of his suggestions and every single one was a hit—we were never disappointed. It felt like having a well-connected local friend who genuinely wanted us to have the best possible experience in Dublin. And he made it happen.
David made us feel completely at ease, and the time with him flew by—I truly wished we had even more time together. Touring Dublin with him was not only informative, but absolutely a joy. If and when we come back to Dublin, I will be booking this tour again so I can do it all over again!

Our experience with the private walking tour of Dublin and with our guide David was exceptional. David patiently waited for us at the train station since our tender was late from our cruise ship and constantly communicated with us about times and location meeting spots. His knowledge about Dublin history, politics, art, literature and folklore is excellent and his energy level and enthusiasm for his city are passionate. David loves what he does and it shows. We travel frequently to Europe because our daughter lives in Spain. We have taken many walking tours, but David’s tour was a clear standout. We highly recommend his walking tour while in the beautiful city of Dublin. It was a true pleasure to get to know him.
