Join a private $$$ tour instead to avoid disappointment

EdmundLeung, Nov 2024
Considering 80% of the population in UAE are foreigners and imported labourers, the several tours we went on in Abu Dhabi and Dubai were run and controlled by this group and not the local Arabs. Because of that the tour standards are poor and loaded with tourist traps. We can testify none of them are trained in the hospitality or tourism industry. Their sole purpose was to increase revenue by up-selling and we ended up wasting a lot of our valuable tour time as we were forced to hang around the ripping-you-off merchant arena until they released our driver to come back and pick us up. Our Camel ride was nothing close to the picture shown, it was done after dinner in the dark inside a small fenced area. We mounted and dismounted the camel in less than 5 minutes. Our few available photos in the dark were blurry and out of focus.

Fabulous

Alam our tour guide is the best, he is a real pro. Taking and giving his time with us. We had the best time on this Safari. I highly recommend Alam, you can trust him from beginning to end. When you go on this safari trip, ask to go with Alam, you will not regret it.

Terrible

Rude and inconsiderate driver

Andrea_G, Nov 2021
The driver Zubair Malik, was extremely rude to my father. Very inconsiderate ! He arrived late, no excuses. He then put some very loud music while driving with his phone on his right hand 70% of the time. When my father asked him to low down the sound he got mad and said that it was already at the lowest (a lie). Then he said that the 3 girls with us liked music and therefore it was for us to find a taxi perhaps. This man had nothing in mind but how to get a chick ! Hitting on the 3 ladies on board. The photoshoot on the sand at sunset lasted 5 min. Too short. The camel ride was a joke. Ethically, i refused to get on it and the guy asked my father 30 AED instead of 20 AED, because my dad was alone on the camel. The food was disgusting. I barely ate it. The show on stage was good and impressive for the last part (the spinning guy). When Malik dropped us, he said arrogantly « Finally we will put music on. ». How rude ! As soon as we closed the car’s doors, we heard the music wildly banging in the car. So so rude. My father is 70 years old. Yes, he is old. Yes he has bad health ever since a stroke 2 years ago, that almost killed him. I gifted him a trip to Dubai, but i would have never thought that a Safari in the desert was not fit for senior citizens. At least that was what Malik said to him ! Maybe VIATOR should mention that if Malik Zubair is the driver ; it is not fit for people with health issues, as he could care less about your well-being as long as the 20 years old girls are laughing !
