All the stops were close to things we wanted to see but the stops are not well labeled there is also another company with red buses

Great option to get around town at your own pace. The boat tour was lovely and took just over an hour.

    Excellent trip.

    joe_b, Dec 2025
Excellent way to see city. Popular stops (eg Nyhavn) can be a little bit busy and waiting for next bus may be required. Be aware there is another hop on/off provider.

    Good way to get around

    Ross_M, Oct 2025
Bus was good, download the app to check location of the buses. Ear plug connections on one bus were a bit hit and miss, otherwise all good

    Karen_C, Oct 2025
The bus was not efficient. Long waits on bus and when going whole circuit had to keep changing buses with long waits before resuming. Boat tour was interesting.

    Two days in copenhagen

    Tina_R, Sep 2025
If you get the boat option and need to get a paper ticket for the boat option I would suggest getting tickets printed from the hop on hop off bus stop at Nyhavn.

The best way from the port to town

    Kristine_G, Sep 2025
Be aware there are multiple "hop on hop off companies. We bought tickets prior to arriving at port. The Redline was at the port. We did have one very rude driver who wouldnt accept my screenshot ticket at one stop and made me go on the internet and show the booking.

    Great time

    Dale_D, Sep 2025
Very organized and they should know that the hop on off picks up at the cruise terminal. Nice variety of stops

    No directions given

    Elizabeth_F, Sep 2025
Driver dropped us off at “stop #8”. Went back to that spot to be picked up and waited over an hour. Come to find out it wasn’t stop eight. It was very difficult trying to find which canal boat to take. First, they did not want to take the voucher eventually after waiting in too long lines I got on the canal tour

    Okay experience

    Helena_M, Sep 2025
The Hop on Hop off stops are not easily visible for travelers to see. And one could easily mistake this bus with another bus.

See Copenhagen from land and water in a day

    Neil_M, Sep 2025
Very informative, efficient service, great views and the canal cruise was great. We saw amazing buildings and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

    Hoppity hop

    Frank_H, Sep 2025
A great way to get an overview of the city. I go on these each time I come to a new city. The driver on the route I chose to take was extremely kind and helpful.

    Missed opportunity

    ely_R, Aug 2025
Too long intervals to wait for buses Missed boat tour .. drivers will tell you where but nobody is around

AVOID this company at all cost if you want to enjoy your trip!!!!!!

    Xuan_J, Aug 2025
I was traveling with my mum who's disable and we took our manual wheelchair. When our cruise docked in Copenhagen we have 3 choices between Redsightseeing, Citysightseeing and Royalsightseeing and mistakenly we've chosen the cheapest one. We were inially promised that we could stay on the bus as long as we want so we were planning to go back to the ship with the bus, however we were kicked off the bus with minimum instruction where the connection bus is at little mermaid and the next 3 buses stopped but won't pick us up. One of the driver was really rude and shouted at us to get off, the other bus driver give us bad information and tell us to jump onto a white bus...there were guests from US and Spain waiting in the same location with us and everyone were frustrated. After roughtly 30mins wait in the wheelchair we've managed to get on the 3rd bus but the driver won't open the back door nor the ramp so we have to carry the wheelchair onto the bus from the front and the driver just sitting there watching my mum hopping onto the bus made me want to cry!!! He also didn't stop at all the stops (we were told 21, 22 and 1 won't be stopping but he skipped more!) and we ended up having to get a Uber to go back to the cruise. Totally waste of time and money and ruined our day at Copenhagen :( If I have another choice I'd stick with City sightseeing as we had a decent trip with them in Stockholm 2 days before this trip. We've definitely learnt the hard way!

    Ray_R, Aug 2025
The boat option was worth the extra cost. The main Hop on was OK but we traveled past the sights fast and did not really know where we were. Lots to see however.

    Confusing

    Barry_W, Jul 2025
Well, the instructions were not very clear as I purchased the bus ride with the option of the boat ride. We received several conflicting instructions on where to go for the boat ride and then we had to pay for the boat ride separately. Not clear at all.

    Horrible experience in Copenhagen

    Kenneth_C, Jul 2025
We had a horrible experience with the City Hop on Hop off bus that we took. The driver did not make announcement and as a result we missed the stop of the place I wanted the visit the most.

    Will not recommend

    speakerforyou, Jul 2025
The bus drivers were absolutely the rudest and most condescending - we rode four buses and had 4 different drivers, all were horrible. Will not recommend. Also, the stops were vague and not marked. Had to wander around looking for them.

So easy to site see and listen to audio guides.

    Loral_J, Jul 2025
This is the first time we ever used the hop on & off type bus. Super easy and you get free ear buds with an audio guide. I think you could choose from 8 languages. We probably took the ride 4 times in one day and still learned something new each time. You have to watch as I think there are 3 companies and all of them look like the same bus but just watch for your company and hop on. All the drivers were friendly and helpful.

Good Intentions, Bad Day to Ride

    Katy_W, Jun 2025
This is a great way to see a city. We also loved the boat ride in conjunction with the Hop On, Hop Off experience, but because of the tides, etc. we were extremely confused as to which company we exchanged the voucher for and where we were to get on the boat, so that could have been made clearer. Also, make sure you check times for the last bus...we didn't realize they would stop running to the cruise terminal at a certain time. Fortunately, we made it to the second-to-last bus running! The other thing that was a problem was that because of the Royal Race, streets were closed, so the busses weren't running the full route and we had to walk quite a bit when we would have ridden the bus. My advice would be to check what's going on in the city and whether the busses will run their full route before purchasing the tickets. We walked a lot more than expected, and it was quite a distance from the Old Center to the place we had to catch the bus (I also had a broken foot, which didn't help matters). Would I do it again? With caution. It is a great idea in theory, but the way it played out for us wasn't the best.

    Viator tickets worthless

    Mermaid48, Jun 2025
Worst Viator experience ever. We were unable to find a pickup location. Tried getting on multiple hop on hop off buses only to be told our tickets were for a different company. Bus drivers were very rude. We called Viator help number and they were unable to help us.

Hop On / Off - Red Sightseeing Bus Tour ticket of marginal value.

    Kevin_S, Jun 2025
We booked Hop On / Off with Red Sightseeing bus via Viator. As others have noted, there are multiple red Hop On / Off bus lines to make it confusing, though all seem to use the same bus stops. The Red Sightseeing app is great that you can see where the active buses are. We booked a ticket with Boat Tour "option". This is stated to be validated and a paper ticket issued by the Red Bus operators. However, none of them even cared to see your ticket to get on the bus and also nobody seemed to know how to validate your boat tour. As a result, the boat tour companies didn't acknowledge your permission to board - and you bought a separate boat / canal tour ticket. Lesson is that don't bother purchasing Hop On/Off with a 'boat tour option'. Also - Bus operators weren't even looking at your bar coded tickets . . . anybody could board. Finally, thought the bus route is enticing - unless you're going to follow it directly - a Metro Day Pass was even more useful. The 1 day metro pass was FAR CHEAPER and more accomodating.

    Very disappointing

    Anne_C, Jun 2025
In Viators ad it is not clear that this is NOT the CitySightseeing hop on hop off bus - it is a startup here with only one route. Very disappointing.

    Convenient pick up,...

    Corinne_L, Jun 2025
Convenient pick up, convenient bus stops. Friendly staff. This is a great way to see the beautiful city of Copenhagen

    Horrid, operator never...

    S_G, Jun 2025
Horrid, operator never responded to messages over past week, some stops were changed & had no clue where to board the boat. Storma was such a pleasant contrast

Beware! You get what you pay for

    philip_m, Jun 2025
Copenhagen has 3 different hop-on/hop-off buses; all red with slightly different signage. This causes much confusion. This particular experience was basic. The river cruise is an optional extra and worth it. Try and get the first boat of the day because they fill up very quickly, especially if there are cruise ships in.

    Is Viator a scammer!

    RajanJacob_M, May 2025
It’s a scam as we couldn’t use the boat with this ticket ! They told me it’s a scam misleading the people about the boat but it says in the ticket as 24 hrs Bus! It should be 24 hrs with bus and boat! We have purchase boat ticket again with DK 497.5 additional Viator should compensate this!

Beware when booking no notice given of upcoming events in Copenhagen

    Victor_B, May 2025
We only did 2 stops of 20 because of an event in Copenhagen,, no notice was given by either the tour operator or Viator that this would happen and to give us the option to opt out, I am asking for a refund.

The hop on hop off was...

    Priscilla_S, Mar 2025
The hop on hop off was not daily. Only going on the weekends so we could only use one day. Apparently company decided to only go on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

    No Bus.

    Clair_H, Jan 2025
Booked well in advance and bus never showed. Was informed they hadn’t been working last few days. Went with another company as only had the day in the city.
