Outstanding Caño Island experience — exceptional crew, unforgettable wildlife

We booked our Caño Island snorkeling tour through Viator, and it was truly one of the best days of our entire Costa Rica trip. I want to specifically recognize the incredible crew, because they made this experience exceptional and deserve to be acknowledged by name: Keilor, our captain, was outstanding. The waters on the way to Caño Island were quite rough, and he took great care to navigate the boat safely, calmly, and as smoothly as possible. His experience and professionalism were very reassuring, and we felt completely safe the entire journey. Roylan, our marinero, did an amazing job setting up a much-needed and delicious lunch at Piñuelas Beach. After all the exertion from snorkeling, this break was perfectly timed and thoughtfully prepared. He took great care of us and made sure everyone was comfortable and well fed. Jordy, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. He is a wonderful local guide with deep knowledge of the area and marine life, and he knew exactly where to take us. Thanks to him, we saw an incredible variety of wildlife — manta rays, reef sharks, needlefish, puffer fish, turtles, mackerel, and many other fish species. We honestly saw almost everything you hope to see on a snorkeling tour — nearly the top 10 marine animals people dream of seeing. The only thing we didn’t see was a whale! In addition to the marine life, we also saw birds, monkeys, and crocodiles, making this a full nature experience both above and below the water. By the way, booking through Viator was seamless and stress-free, and everything ran exactly as promised, which made the entire day even more enjoyable. This crew went above and beyond — not just doing their jobs, but making us feel welcomed, valued, and truly cared for. They are a tremendous asset to their company, and we would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Costa Rica. An unforgettable day — thank you all so much.

A great way to get out on the water!

Great service and beautiful scenery. The boat ride was fun and Cano Island is spectacular. The snokling is okay . . . It all depends on the visibility in the water and when we were there it wasn't great. We'd do it again though, and recommend the tour for others.

We had a great day in the company of Jordi who introduced us to different species of fish, shark, turtle, starfish,... We even met dolphins on the way back. The meal on the beach halfway was delicious! We recommend 😊
