This snorkeling trip was fantastic! The weather was beautiful over on the island and we got to see so much amazing wildlife. Tons of fish, stingrays, sharks, turtles, etc. The guides explain that sometimes the visibility may not be great but it was wonderful when we went. We had Ozzy as our main guide and he was great and super knowledgeable. Keep in mind the boat ride over to the island takes over an hour there and back, so a good amount of time is spent on the boat. The water wasn’t choppy by any means, but there was a lot of ups and downs in the waves. When the boat is stopped, it was constantly rocking back and forth. Between the boat rocking (as well as being rocked back and forth while in the water), I felt very sea sick towards the end of the trip. Many other people felt completely fine, so this was mostly just a me problem. But just keep in mind if you’re easily sea/motion sick. I didn’t let it ruin my experience though and still had a great time! After we returned back to Uvita, we had a tasty lunch on the beach. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Such an amazing experience! Our guide was awesome. We saw lots of huge sea turtles. They let swim down deeper if you wanted. All around just a great experience!

The guides did a great job providing information and coaching first-timers. Once we got into the water, they pointed out species and moved us around to maximize our time in the water.
The Costa Rican lunch at the island was a cherry on top! Thank you for an excellent experience.

We had such a beautiful experience snorkeling! Our guide Ozzy was very knowledgeable and good at keeping our group together. We had very still water with amazing visibility and were able to see sea turtles, manta rays, schools of fish, puffer fish, parrot fish, surgeon fish. It felt surreal! Ozzy checked all of the good spots for sharks but they weren't there. A lot of snorkeling is luck in terms of what you see but Ozzy knew exactly where to look for sea turtles and sharks. He may sure everyone in our group got to see everything and even dove down to take a close up video of the turtles for someone. The whole trip felt very safe and organized. Lunch was also great! Loved that they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions for others in the group. This an experience not to pass up! Would recommend a rash guard to protect from sun and any potential jellyfish (though our group did not encounter any).

Despite poor visibility due to the currents (out of the company’s control), ozzy and crew did their best and we still had a great trip. we saw a turtle, stingray, school of fish, puffer fish despite the murky waters. The best part was on the ride back we saw a humpback mom and baby, marlin, and dolphins. We were starving after the trip and the lunch buffet on the beach was delicious - rice, beans, veggies, chicken, salsa, chips, fruit. Tasted like delicious home cooking

Wonderful experience. Our guide Eduardo was fantastic- friendly and knowledgeable, as was the crew. We had 2 separate snorkels and a break in between to check out the island. We saw sharks, rays, sea turtles and many varieties of fish. Afterward a delicious lunch set up on a beach. Overall a very enjoyable day!

I highly recommend this tour! The guides were incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They went above and beyond to make sure we saw as much as possible and were always pointing out anything interesting — even rare sightings — and making sure everyone had a chance to see. Of course, it’s the ocean and they can’t control what wildlife appears, but they truly put in the effort to search and give us the best experience possible. They also provide gated parking with cameras, which made me feel very safe leaving my car. Overall, it’s a must-do experience and I would absolutely book with them again!

Perfectly organized, friendly crew, good service. We saw turtles, a young shark, a stingray, and many other fish. Unfortunately, there were almost no colorful corals left – presumably due to climate change?

Caño Island is known for its incredible marine life and healthy reef ecosystem. Coral reefs around the world varies in color depending on natural factors such as water nutrients, and local conditions, not all reefs are colorful in the same way.
While Caño Island may not be characterized by bright colored corals, it is a very alive reef with abundant marine biodiversity. This is exactly what makes Caño Island such a special and protected area.

The trip was absolutely amazing! From start to finish our guide Ozzy was absolutely brilliant and made the day. We saw turtles, loads of fish, eels and most importantly, two humpback whales. The trip was worth every penny.

Great snorkelling trip, well-organised and a small group. We had 2 amazing guides and Nelson took great photos of the marine life. We saw turtles, stingrays and loads of different fish. Another highlight was stopping at a small island for lunch which was a Costa Rican picnic and it was delicious. Highly recommend!

Great experience. The tour was well organized and communication was the tour company prior was excellent. It was a great day of snorkeling with our guides helping us to see many things we would have missed without their assistance. Lunch and snacks were really tasty and the private beach was beautiful. What a great experience! We did the snorkeling tour and the process was smooth and the instructions were clear. Ozzy was such a great tour guide, very friendly and very knowledgeable. He really went out of the way to find wildlife and pointed them out for people to see. The lunch was also very good. 10/10.

The ride out to the island was a fun experience on its own. We were able to spot two types of dolphins and off season humpback whales. While snorkeling our guide was constantly providing us with identification and facts about the different species of fish and turtles that we encountered. The crew was friendly and helpful, and were always on the lookout for wildlife.

Pros: Overall great experience. See lots of humpback whales, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and tons of colorful fish. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the speed boat ride there and back, the island was beautiful, and there was plenty of snorkeling time.
Cons: There was no bathroom onboard and the "bathroom" on Cano Island was all but in-accessible, and filthy if you COULD get to it. It was up a steep, muddy, rocky path. Aside from the hike to the bathroom, there was only about 5 minutes to enjoy the "beach break". I was stung by jellyfish on our second snorkel, and was told that it would "feel better soon" but that they had vinegar to put it on it. They did not.

Very organized and well run organization and team. Full boat and strong communication skills from the guides.
Very respectful towards wildlife and marine animals, while making sure we were given the opportunity to snorkel and view what wildlife was available.

We were taken by boat to the island. On the way there we saw several whales and dozens of dolphins, as well as a large group of albatross. The guides took their time allowing us to take pics and watch. We then had two approx hour long snorkeling sessions which were incredible - saw a huge variety of fish as well as turtles, starfish, flounder, sting rays and others. The guides did a good job pointing some of these out to us. We hung out on the island then came back for an excellent home cooked lunch.
Can’t think of a way this could’ve been a better experience. Highly recommend.

Joanna was an awesome guide and the crew were fantastic! The two snorkels were amazing- we saw dolphins, manta rays, sting rays, eels, lots of sea turtles and a ton of fish. It was incredible. Sadly no whales, but not their fault. The food left something to be desired. Anyone going should plan to eat breakfast ahead of time. There were muffins and juice and coffee. They did offer fresh fruit on the boat which was refreshing. A Lunch on the beach was rice with bits of chicken, pasta salad, watermelon. Sorry if mayo based pasta salad when it’s 90 degrees out does not seem appetizing. For the price, they need to up the food situation. But overall a great snorkel experience in Costa Rica.

This might have been the highlight of our Costa Rica trip! Isla De Cano was beautiful, with amazing reefs and clear blue water. Our guide, Ossi, was excellent; very knowledgeable, friendly, spoke at least 3 languages, and was a huge boost to the overall experience! We saw pufferfish, a white tip reef shark, several sea turtles, sting rays, dolphins, and plenty more. If you’re looking to see oceanic wildlife, don’t miss this tour!

Poor visibility would have been nice to know beforehand. They had us stay in a tight group with floatation devices floating from our wrists. Boat ride was comfortable and nice. Island was beautiful. Lunch was really good

We wish we can predict or know when the visibility will be great or not but unfortunately we cannot predict the weather. It is kind of funny to read people complain about our safety rules, wear a lifejacktet can safe your life of unpredictible situation like a cramp that won't like you keep yourself floating, some rules are not negociable
If you visit the area again give a second chance to Caño Island, it worth

This was one of the most amazing experiences, starting off the coffee and breakfast was really good and nice to have early in the morning. The guides were super nice and really knowledgeable about all the different fish and animals while snorkeling. Even-though there was a lot of people out at Caño island it never felt like it because the guides did such a good job finding areas that has great things to see without running into other groups. We saw multiple turtles and a shark, as well as tons of super cool fish. Lunch was great w pineapple and watermelon and then did round two of the snorkeling. To top it all off we got to see 3 humpback whales on our way back! Two adults and 1 baby. It was so magical. The lunch at the end was wonderful too! I would 100% recommend this tour. So incredible.

Had a wonderful time snorkelling! Saw four sting rays, four turtles, heard dolphins and saw SO many fish. Would highly recommend this snorkelling tour. To top it off, they provided a fresh lunch. Had a great time.

Do not miss snorkeling on Cano Island. We saw sharks, sea turtles, eels, an octopus and starfish in addition to endless varieties of fish. You can see things that normally you would need to scuba dive to see.

Great crew and very professional. It was a snorkeling tour but we had the most amazing whale watching experience ever. Captain and crew allowed us to watch 6 or 7 humpback whales even though we were headed back to shore for the end of the trip. They seemed as excited about the whales as all the clients were.

The tour operators are very friendly and helpful. We saw many colorful fish and a couple of turtles. We were served a delicious and substantial lunch. Edward remembered that my husband and I had arrived by taxi. When he saw us walking until we could get internet service to call a taxi, he stopped and arranged taxi service for us. I gave this a rating of 4 rather than 5 because the water isn't as clear as the Caribbean and because the group size is a little large, which has snorkelers running into one another.
