It was canceled at 4:30 in the morning. I was waiting for my hotel pu when I found that out. The operator led me to believe I could go later in the day.

Imaging Walking Through Clouds 😇

Hiking up the mountain was more challenging than I thought it would be but totally worth it! Imagine walking through clouds while hiking up a spiraling mountain. The views were absolutely heavenly! My guide Barry was absolutely amazing! He picked me up from the hotel I was staying at and we headed to Lions Head for the sunrise hike. He had water, snacks, headlamps, and backpacks prepared for us. He was also very knowledgeable about the different birds and plants we saw on our journey and patient as my hiking stamina wasn’t that strong at first.

Our guide Barry was terrific and patient. This is a bit challenging with a lot rock scrambling but getting to top was the reward. I wanted to back out part way up but guide & my friend encouraged me to complete it and seeing sunrise from top of Lions Head was my reward.

The group and interactions were great, led by a really knowledgeable local guide. Felt like an amazing achievement albeit not the toughest of mountain challenges it had some really interesting bits with fixed ladders and chains. It was a really great experience for us as we really are beginner climbers but Barry was very patient with us and we couldn’t even believe that we made it all the way to the top. He ensured we took a safer route and told us to take as much time as we can as safety is most important.

Barry was on time for our 515am pickup. He provided us with lights, backpacks, water and snacks. He was most informative about the area as he is a local. He made sure we maintained a good pace during the hike so that we made it to the top just in time to see that beautiful sunrise!! The views were well worth it!!
