After waiting for 45 minutes and trying to contact the tour operator many times by txt and phone, we learned that the tour operator mistakingly had the wrong day for the tour and no other guide was available. We had to pay our hotel $360. for the same tour. This was $146. more than the very same tour we had already booked and paid for. I expect a full Viator refund as well as a $146. credit toward future bookings for the excess difference we had to pay. My wife and I are very devoted and loyal Viator clients with over 100 tour bookings since we began nearly full time international travel in January 2022. Please reply with your approval of this credit and any other compensation you believe is due for our inconvenience.

Our reservations manager had a medical emergency on the same day that we received your booking request from Viator, so please accept our sincere apology for her error. She did, however, manage to contact one of our tour guides who was able to step in at short notice on the day. But, unfortunately, you decided that you preferred to cancel the tour. She followed your instructions and gave you a full refund despite the fact that we were able to fulfill the booking (albeit starting at 09h30).
We trust that you will accept that we can all make mistakes when under pressure and that our company track record (with 600+ five star reviews) is evidence that this is not the norm for us.

Michael Klerck was an excellent guide. We started the day with coffee at a funky shop in Cape Town, and Mike drove us through town, pointing out a large number of landmarks on the way. Leaving the downtown area, we made our way down the cape peninsula, spending as much time at each stop as we wanted. The scenery was stunning, and Mike gladly agreed to tell us (fun, entertaining) stories from his time growing up around Cape Town. He even added a bonus boat ride to a fantastic enourmous seal colony in Hout Bay. The van was spacious and the a/c worked great. Would highly recommend Mike to anyone looking to experience the cape peninsula!

Mikey the tour guide was really nice. He was very friendly with my kids buying them chocolates and sweets. He was also very professional, he changed the tour to adjust to traffic and busy times At Cape of Good Hope.

We booked after reading all the wonderful reviews of Dave, the tour guide. And the tour description said that we would be picked up in a “luxury vehicle”. This vehicle never achieved a comfortable temperature, and we had to have the fan on high all day, so we had a hard time hearing. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, but didn’t want to stick with the planned itinerary. When you travel halfway around the world and set aside a day of your life to have a nice tour (not too mention the expense!), it’s very disappointing to have things not work out....

Dave arrived early during our day trip, waiting for us patiently as we had our breakfast. He was very friendly and warm when we first met. Upon hearing that my wife had an ear infection and that we needed medical attention, Dave brought us to a friendly doctor and the pharmacy, despite having to turn the itinerary around. Appreciate his thoughtfulness and seeing to our needs first. What we really like was also the lunch place that he booked for us which served really good fish and prawns. Dave is also a knowledgeable guide who also shared generously about his life experiences. Many thanks to Dave for a great day around Cape Town.

Dave picked us up from our hotel and was very friendly. The day tour was great and it was good that Dave picked us up early so we didn’t have to queue all day. We drove down the coast to the cape pensinsula. We got the fenicula up to the light house, be warned there are approx 150 steps still to get. We drove to cape of good hop and saw lots of wildlife!We went on to Simons Town for lunch at a place Dave recommended. This was excellent!!Our final stop was boulders beach and the penguins.The great thing about this tour is that it is personal, therefore you can tailor it. We did by popping into hard rock in Camps Bay.Highly recommend this tour and Dave! Thank you for being part of our Honeymoon.

Dave was an amazing tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about history of the area, and willing to tailor the trip to our desires. Since we had lost a day of vacation due to a missed airline connection, he went out of his way to get as much in as he could. We saw the entire peninsula, climbed to the top of the lighthouse, spent time with the penguins, and so much more. We could not have asked for a better day and are very grateful to Dave for all he did for us.

This tour is a 'must do' while in Cape Town as the Cape scenery is stunning. The advantage of doing a private tour is that you can tailor it to suit your personal preferences. Dave was a very good and informative guide - and importantly allowed us to linger in the places we loved such as Cape Point and Boulder's Beach. The lunch at Simon's Town was also delicious. It's a lot to do in a day so get an early start to make the most of it!

We couldn't have asked for a better guide than Dave for our private car driven tour from Cape Town to Hout Bay, the Cape of Good Hope and Boulders to see the penguins. Not only was Dave very knowledgeable about the different sights we visited, he ensured we were getting the most from our day by asking questions regarding our interests so he could tailor-make our experience to fit us. He was polite, genuine and had a great sense of humour. It was very evident that Dave truly wanted us to get the most from our tour. It happened to be my daughter's birthday and Dave arranged a surprise for her at an amazing restaurant we went to for lunch, complete with Champagne, a South African men's choir and a birthday card signed by the restaurant staff! Words can't begin to express the gratitude from my family to Dave for giving us memories we will cherish forever. Our family had such a great day with Dave! He really went out of his way to personalize the day to exactly what we were interested in seeing. When we asked to stop at an Ostrich farm we were driving past, he even bought us some Ostrich jerky to taste! He had great information to add to the sites and super suggestions. When our tour for the next day was cancelled due to weather, he and his wife both got in touch with all their contacts to help us make some backup plans. Very very good day tour. Two days prior to the tour, got a call to ensure we had reached safely and inquired if a car seat was needed since we were traveling with a 4 year old. Tour operator was very effective communicator, very courteous, highly knowledgeable and goes out of the way for your comfort, safety and never rushed.
