So many whales and dolphins!

The open ocean safari could not have been more spectacular! Nick & Rafa are an awesome team and ensured we had time in the water to snorkel with beautiful fish and see so many humpback whales, dolphins & sea lions! Nick also provided much information about the marine life in the area. Great drone and underwater photography to remember it too! Highly recommend this excursion! One note: I would advise packing your patience and leaving some flexibility in your schedule. Based on our experiences with a couple excursions in Cabo, they don’t always happen as “confirmed” and there may not be much notice if any at all. Do your own confirmation through the tour operator.

The best ocean safari!

I was looking for an ocean tour that was led by passionate individuals who would do their best to find different types of ocean wildlife in a caring and respectful manner. I wanted to be sure that the tour prioritized the wellbeing of the animals and allowed us to see/interact with them in the most ethical way possible. I found what I was looking for with this ocean safari. The guides were all very knowledgeable, kind and charismatic. Their passion for the ocean and the animals was clearly evident. I can’t recommend this tour enough!

I have to say, when I booked this experience I did zero research and chose it purely based on the pictures they posted. I really wasn’t sure if those photos were real or just clever advertising, but I took a leap of faith. Let me tell you — those pictures are 100% real and still don’t do justice to the moments we actually experienced. It was insane, to say the least. This was our first time doing a safari-style adventure on the water, but the fact that the rest of our small (!!!) group consisted of professional free divers and marine-life photographers with thousands of followers on social media speaks for itself. They chose Apex Divers for their safari. I feel so lucky to have been part of that group. Now, the facts: • In just 4 hours we swam with a huge flock of cownose rays, dolphins playing with sea lions, a humpback whale, and even a marlin. • We visited the famous Arch for those perfect Cabo signature photos, where Kyla patiently took as many pictures of us as we wanted. • We ended the trip snorkeling at beautiful coral reefs and saw tons of exotic, colorful fish. And of course the biggest shout-out goes to Alex for being the most positive, thoughtful, and patient guide imaginable. He did everything humanly possible to find every bit of marine life out there. As a bonus, you get the most professional footage of the animals — and if you’re lucky, even you in the shot with them 😉 Obviously spotting all of the above isn’t guaranteed, but what IS guaranteed is the best time on the water and maximum effort from the Apex Ocean Divers team to show you as much marine life as possible.

Really wanted to love this! We saw lots and lots of humpback and grey whales, which was amazing (we saw 2 breaches!) - but nothing else. Understand that nature is beyond our control - but it was such a bummer to pay $15 USD for the wetsuit (not advertised on the listing) and be in the water for no more than 3 minutes total trying to find rays. We also returned to port slightly earlier after failing to see anything else. The guide was a sweetheart (although slightly inexperienced / didn't know much about Cabo, as she had landed in town a couple months earlier) and the 10 free photos were cool (if you wanted the remaining, an additional payment was required). It's definitely luck of the draw with what you're able to see though!
