Our wonderful guide Fran picked us up at an interesting bar where we shared a meat and cheese Picata and got to know our fellow travelers. We proceeded to an historic market for tasty empanadas- I chose to split a vegetable one with my husband- then headed for an excellent dinner of various grilled meats and sides. Dessert was at a fascinating former antique store. There were minor issues when it was discovered the first bar only took cash as of that day, but they were quickly remedied. We had a fun evening!

I received a text the night before the tour to confirm that there was to be no pork served during the tour as mentioned in the allergen specifications during the booking of the tour. They confirmed the request by return text. They arrived at 6:30 (for a 7:00 PM pick up) stating that the time of the tour pick up was 6:30 and they were wondering why we were late. I was told that the driver had to be at the airport for a pick-up at 8:00 and that we needed to leave earlier than the scheduled time. The guide and driver were a bit miffed that we were not ready at the earlier time. Once we departed on the tour the guide, Stephanie, answered our questions, but did not seem willing to engage in providing information without being prompted. At the first food stop, the primary offering was pork and we had to remind the guide that we did not eat pork. The restaurant was actually a bar (we had a minor with us and advised the tour operator of this prior to the tour onset) that was a second rate establishment. The next stop was to an Empanada booth in a market that was closing and they were not ready for us. Since the establishment was not ready for us and had to sit at a booth across form the food provider. The third stop was at a restaurant where the meat quality provided was inferior, while the side dishes were good. The last stop for dessert was not ready for us and we were rushed to complete the offerings as Stephanie said the time allocated for the tour was completed. Then the driver was late arriving to drive us back to that hotel. By all means, avoid this tour and the tour operator, Experience Baires.

Excellent tour of the oldest part of Buenos Aires and found some hidden gems like a Farmer’s Market with the best empanadas.

We have done about 5 different food tours all from different countries. This was by far the worst. We were hoping to try local Argentian dishes but this was not the experience we had. We we were offered a key lime pie, tiramisu and we were expected to share plates with complete strangers. The tour guide seemed like he did not know what he was doing. Complete waste of time and money.

We are sorry that you did not have a good experience. According to what our tour guide says, you came eaten to a food tour and you were offered more than what you say and everything that is in the tour description. As for eating with complete strangers, these tours are open for anyone to book and it's described as well.
In case you wanted a private tour, we were able to do so.

Great group of fellow travelers. And the empanadas were excellent. The guide was friendly but probably could have offered a bit more on Argentina or the foods, etc. but we can enjoyed the time with our fellow travelers
