Tour started well. Tour guide was pleasant and informative. Tour covers 4 rooms. First 3 were ok. But for the last room - the most important one, the opera hall itself, we enter the opera box and find . . . darkness! A crew is working in the hall. There is some minimal light on the stage. But everything that visitors come to see - the ceiling, the chandelier, the boxes on various levels - cannot be seen. The tour group spends the next ten minutes in darkness. The guide told us that we might not see the opera hall under ideal conditions, including that people might be working in the hall. If darkness was a possibility, we should have been informed before we wasted money on purchasing tickets. If you want the same tour experience we had, do this: go into a room in your home at night. Close the drapes. Turn off the lights and shut the door. Sit in the darkness for ten minutes. And you can do this for free! Tour was a total ripoff. I want my money back!!!

Hi!
Sadly as the Opera House is in full operation 365 days a year, there a times where the main hall may be darkened for rehearsal. It would hardly be the same as to being on a dark room on your house, but okay!
This is also stated in the activity page before booking. Finally, this section of the tour is just one of the 10 rooms you visit.
We’re sorry about your poor experience.

The tickets I bought from you were not accepted at the theater therefore I had to buy them again
I want the money back.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hi Daniel!
Sadly you did not show the tickets we sent you which are the only valid ones. These are sent the day before the activity date as it’s stated in the activity page before booking, via email.
This is all stated in the activity page before booking. We’re sorry you had a poor experience.

It’s a must do stop - the guides are incredible and tell the story of the theatre in a very engaging way. For our time we had people from literally all over the world and the experience was incredible - seeing the history and the present is fascinating. It’s worth every penny. Thank you!
Patrick_F, Mar 2026
Great tour showing the most important areas and auditorium where you may see a rehearsal in progress.
Eric_R, Mar 2026
The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the theater and was able to broadcast her voice loud enough, so everyone could hear that was greatly appreciated.
Karen_D, Mar 2026
We were unable to get in to the tour because of miscommunication about the tickets. We were told they would arrive via email but instead were on What's App and we didn't find them until hours after the tour.
Response from Host, Mar 2026
Hi Karen!
They were sent via email & WhatsApp!
David_P, Mar 2026
The Teatro Colón is a magnificent theater, that is certainly worth coming to tour or enjoy a show. It was a very fun and interesting experience to learn about the theater
Stephen_W, Mar 2026
Excellent tour inside the ornate theater along with a very informative history from our guide. We were fortunate that the dancers from the upcoming evening performance of Swan Lake were practicing and we were allowed to watch for several minutes. Very nice!
Nathan_L, Mar 2026
We were very disappointed….
Why???
Because on the day of the tour it was canceled by the operator!!!
carlos_p, Mar 2026
As said the validación of tickets can be complicated it should be improved do not know if de singers fsult or problems in transmisión over cell phones but should be looked at
Anton_B, Feb 2026
Beautiful theater and guide was very good. Would have been nice to get a glimpse back stage and the orchestra pit.
Martina_S, Feb 2026
Great tour, worthwhile doing although you can also rock up there and buy tickets on the spot which are a lot cheaper than booked via Viator
Jane_M, Feb 2026
Excellent but crowded. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The theatre is amazing and a must see. Strongly recommended.
Lesley_K, Feb 2026
It’s a really interesting tour and amazing building. Tge guide was good but it’s a big group and felt pretty impersonal
Paul_S, Feb 2026
Great tour and tour guide with lots of information.
Amazing to sit in the auditorium and hear the brilliant acoustics.

Bought tickets for 11am tour in English. Received three emails from Viator confirming tour at 11am. Actual tickets delivered on the day were for 2pm, when we were due to be on another tour. Useless experience with Viator, will not use again.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Hello Jonathan!
We're not sure what you mean with this review, as the tickets sent to you the day before the activity date were for 11AM, as you booked the 11AM tour.
Jose_C, Jan 2026
Very happy we did this tour. The place is fabulous and hopefully we can attend a show in the future. Our Gide was a little soft spoken and it was sometimes hard to hear.
Stephen_F, Jan 2026
Spectacular building and story behind it. Tour guide was very informative and kept a good pace .only 1 hour, a must see while in BA.
Sonia_Z, Jan 2026
It is okay tour. However people can easily get mort info on line.
But Viator really over charged the tickets.
People please not get on line to purchase this tour tickets by Viator, but get the ticket on the site.
Viator made $15-18 out of the tickets which only sell $30 on the theater site.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Hello!
We are sorry you’re lying on your review! Although it is true tickets at the Theatre are less expensive, that’s because availability is extremely limited (you may get tickets for the following week) and those ticket do not include skip-the-line access.
We hope your review comes from a misunderstanding on your part and not as a malicious review.
Either way, we hope you enjoyed your tour.
Adriana_E, Jan 2026
The worst one.
They are not on top of things. Mr Lautaro, their contact in BA, never followed up to ensure we received the tickets.
The result? We did not get the tickets on time, so we couldn't go on the tour, and we lost $100.
Even when aviator people sounded so lovely over the phone.....They prioritize their 3erd party in BA instead of their customers: we.
Not even offering us another day to do the tour.......
SAD......
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Hello Adriana!
We're really sorry to hear that. But your tickets were sent! They were sent the day before the activity date via email, as stated we will do in the activity page before booking.
We would have loved to hear from you at the time you were having an issue and we would have loved to help.
We hope to see you next time.
Bonnie_K, Dec 2025
The main auditorium was dark the day we went because they we setting up for a performance. They didn't ask if that was acceptable until we were there ready to start the tour having arranged transportation to the venue and planned the day around it etc. When we went in we couldn't really see the main attraction because it was too dark. I think we ahould have been given advance notice. The guide was pleasant. Venue is pretty but fell short of expectations.
Beth_T, Dec 2025
There ware 60 people in the group far too many. No lighting in main theatre so didn’t see it! Paid for English tour but was also translator there for French group
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you for your feedback. The group size is clearly stated in advance and can vary depending on demand. Regarding the lighting, this is determined by the venue and is not controlled by the tour operator. As for the language, the tour was conducted in English as booked; the presence of a translator for another group does not affect the English tour itself. We’re sorry if your expectations were not met, but we strive to be transparent about all aspects of the experience.

The day before the tour the Travel agency cancelled the tour claiming that there are protests in the area. They also stated that we will receive a refund within 72 hrs.
We went to the specific site of the tour (Teatro Cologne) and saw many tours proceeding as normal. We asked if they had protests in the area. They said all tours were proceeding as normal and no such event happened.
We never received the refund in 72 hrs and had to contact Viator to claim the refund.
Viatior needs to monitor the activities of such agencies as they appear to cancel tours and never issue refunds.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Hello Michael!
As we explained to you, a protest was scheduled to take place close to the Theatre to all tours were rescheduled. The protest was cancelled on the same day and we tried to contact all customers to come to their original booked times! Sadly we received no reply from you.
Regarding the refund, it was issued immediately! But the money takes a few days to be credited back.
Elizabeth_L, Nov 2025
Do not book with this agent.
The day before we got a notification that the theatre had cancelled all visits due to a protest. This was not true, the agent just hadn't been able to source tickets on the English tour. They offered Spanish instead (which would have also been cancelled!) our concierge checked directly with theatre and all tours going.
Fraudsters and now we miss out whereas if we had booked direct would have been fine
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Hello Elizabeth!
As we explained to you via phone call and to the hotel concierge, a protest took place that disrupted MORNING tours. Afternoon tours, which take place mostly in Spanish, were not cancelled because they were not impacted by the protest.
We offered you to go on a Spanish tour on the same day, or you could reschedule for an English tour the following day.
There was never a fraud with your booking, just a disruption in tours due to a protest. We understand your annoyance but calling us fraudsters due to an issue we cannot control is truly disappointing . Regardless, we wish you the best.
Jose_G, Nov 2025
this is effectively a resale that charge you double the actual price of the tickets. No need to buy them through Viator. No need to buy them through Viator
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Hi there — this is not accurate. Our prices match the official rates and we do not charge double. We provide customer support, secure booking, and guaranteed availability, but the ticket cost itself is the same. Thank you for your feedback.
Carl_T, Oct 2025
The time was changed, and the tickets were never received, the PDF that was emailed did not open, The box office of Teatro Colon advised me that it was most likely fraud.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Hello Carl!
As we let you know via email, your tickets were sent in PDF format via email, as stated in the activity page before booking. If the PDFs did not open, we would have loved to have received a call or message from you so we could re-send them and access the guided tour!
We have now talked with our team at the Theatre and no one heard from you, or they would have been able to help. We do hope you contact us next time.
India_D, Oct 2025
You have to write a review with Viator unless you disable that option after booking and before taking your tri.
limarie_P, Sep 2025
The theater is majestic I love it
Huge and beautiful
The guide very knowledgeable and friendly
Very European style
MariaLidia_H, Jun 2025
You can visit the Colon theater and know its history and see its art with an expert guide and expend great moments.
Elena_O, May 2025
It is a nice and quick way to see the theater if you don't have a chance to see an opera or ballet there (most tickets are held by members and the rest sold out very fast around February for the entire season). The guide will tell you about the history of the theater, its architecture, construction and acoustics, and you get to sit in one of the boxes for a while to take it all in.
