If you’re even thinking about doing a food tour in Buenos Aires—stop thinking and just book it. This was, without exaggeration, one of the absolute highlights of my trip.
From the very beginning, the experience felt personal, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. Denis was not only incredibly knowledgeable about Argentine cuisine, but also deeply passionate about the culture and history behind every dish. It never felt like a scripted tour—instead, it was like exploring the city with a well-connected local friend who knew all the best hidden gems.
The food itself? Unforgettable. Every stop offered something unique and authentic—from perfectly grilled meats and rich, flavorful empanadas to indulgent dulce de leche treats and exceptional local wines. The variety was impressive, and the pacing was perfect—you never felt rushed, yet somehow managed to experience so much.
What really stood out was how the tour went beyond just food. We learned about the neighborhoods, the traditions, and the stories that make Buenos Aires such a vibrant and soulful city. It added so much depth to the experience and gave me a genuine appreciation for Argentine culture.
I also loved how thoughtfully organized everything was. The group size was ideal—small enough to feel intimate but still social—and every detail was handled seamlessly.
By the end of the tour, I wasn’t just full—I felt connected to the city in a way that you simply can’t get from guidebooks or solo exploring.
If you want an authentic, delicious, and memorable way to experience Buenos Aires, this food tour is an absolute must. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

This was a lovely experience. Maya was very sweet and informative. She did not only want to share information with the group but tried to get to know the tour participants as well. It felt like we were spending time with friends while enjoying good food and wine and getting to know a different culture. We always do food tours when traveling, and this one did not disappoint.

Maya was our fabulous guide - ended up being total of 12 of us in the group. We had four stops plus a bonus pre-dessert stop. We arrived in Buenos Aires last night and we loved this introduction to some of the wonderful tastes of this beautiful city. Hubby said empanada was best he’d ever had. My favorites were the fainá and the fried cheese - first time having those and hopefully will get more during our time in BA. Thank you Maya and Sherpa tours for great start on our first full day in BA!

Lu was our tour guide. She was excellent very informative and fiendly. We loved every stop we made. My highlight was the tortilla, my husband was the asado. It is perfect if you want to experience a taste of local food and local area you would not even find if you are not with a local.

A great tour. We tried lots of delicious food all specialties of Buenas Aires. Our guide, Stan, was very friendly and informative. We enjoyed the walking tour and seeing some hidden art work as well as the food. Make sure you’re hungry as there is plenty of food.

Lots of yummy food so go hungry. Would’ve been exciting to try some more unknown or regional foods not offered in mainstream markets but the quality and quantity were all excellent. Our guide was a foodie and clearly appreciated quality. Nice that wine and alcohol included in the price of the tour!

As a solo traveler who was only in Buenos Aires for 3 days, this was a great way to sample restaurants that I would have not found otherwise nor have had enough meals throughout my stay in Buenos Aires to visit. The tour guide was fantastic and provided not only food facts, but stories about the region’s history.
I was able to meet some fellow travelers and enjoy an evening dining with others. I even met a few fantastic people who happened to be on my Antarctica cruise.
I highly recommend taking this tour not only in Buenos Aires, but also in other cities where Food Sherpa operates.

Maya was our guide and we absolutely loved her passion for what she does. She was very informative of not just the restaurant but the location and the community. All our food destinations were superb and left us wanting to visit again. We would definitely recommend anyone, first timers or regulars, to book this tour.

Our guide Dennis made this tour amazing. His knowledge of the city and the food industry was fantastic. He made this tour very interesting and had lots of wonderful information to give us.

The tour guide Dennis was exceptional. Show up hungry to the tour as you go to multiple restaurants as well as chocolate shop and even gelato. Food was great and learned about the history of Palermo Soho.

Tons of delicious food and drink, quirky area of town, and our guide, Lu, beamed joy while making everything fun. One of our stops was a Michelin star restaurant where we had a chickpea pie (Fainá) with an egg pie on top, and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted!

A great gastronomic journey! I highly recommend taking this on an empty stomach. Each spot offered something different as our guide told us a little about its history as well as of Buenos Aires. As delicious as it was interesting.

Fantastic food tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the local culture, history and cuisine of the area. She enabled us to sample some of the best food and drink in the area visiting cafes and restaurants serving excellent food and wine

Denis led a great tour of several restaurants that gave us a good overview of cuisine in Buenos Aires. There were also some detours to fun spots in the Palermo neighborhood. We had a great time.

A lovely tour to go on. Palermo is a very interesting area so going to different places and walking around there was great. Lots of good food and wine as well. The tour guide Maya was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very welcoming. Give it a try.

Denis was awesome. Very knowledgeable and lived in the area. Great spots to visit. Plenty of food and drink and good tour in between spots. A must to get a flavor for the culture

This tour was one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Buenos Aires. Maya was incredible, so warm, personable, knowledgeable, and engaging from the start. Being on this tour alone (a lovely couple also joined), I especially appreciated how comfortable and welcomed she made me feel right away.
The food and drinks were amazing, and every stop felt thoughtfully chosen, but what really made the experience special was Maya herself. She didn’t just take us to great restaurants and shops, she explained the culture, history, traditions, and stories behind everything we ate and drank, as well as the history of the restaurants and the Palermo neighborhood itself. It gave me such a deeper appreciation for Buenos Aires.
By the end of the tour, I felt like I had truly experienced Palermo instead of just visiting it. Maya’s warmth, passion, and knowledge made the entire experience unforgettable.
This is an absolute MUST for anyone visiting Buenos Aires. Highly, highly recommend!

This was a lot of fun and topped off with some great food, with even better people.
I did my tour with Kiki, and she was absolutely great! Gave us lots of history lessons while walking the streets of Palermo Soho.
Food was honestly fantastic. My tour had 4 stops, one for appetizers, one for a snack, one for a main course, and finished with sweets and dessert!
The Spanish tortilla was delicious! The steak was expectedly good, but the highlight of the tour was definitely the Chori-pan. Definitely going to look for it back home in California!
I recommend this tour 100 % !
Rudy_E, May 2026
Sooo much food! It was excellent, so come hungry! Only complaint was that our guide seemed to feel she had to fill every moment with chatter even when it wasn’t interesting or informative.
Jonathan_G, May 2026
This is amongst the top food tours I have ever done. Food was great. Portions were generous. Guide (Maya) was top notch. Highly recommend.
