Our guide was the best…perfect blend of informative while very entertaining and fun. Good mix of biking, sightseeing, history and food. Fairly flat..maybe a few small hills out of the entire half day…so fairly leisurely pace. The meeting spot is actually inside a parking garage…so give yourself time to find it. Our party of 4 loved it and would highly recommend it!

This tour is a wonderful way to see many of the neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable and you will learn a lot about the areas you will visit. It’s a mostly flat route with many picturesque stops. One of the last stops, Carlos became our vendor and served Yerba Mate, which was fun, intimate, and yummy! Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for close up exploration of Buenos Aires.

The bike ride is relatively easy with plenty of stops along the way to view downtown Buenos Aires landmarks and learn about the political and cultural significance associated with them. The area covered has only a few small hills and mostly follows bike paths and less traveled streets. We had only 3 riders for our tour and our guide Carlos made sure that the bikes were properly adjusted prior to the start of the ride. He set a leisurely pace for the ride and made sure that we were able to stay together. The small size of the tour made it easy to ask questions and to get to know our guide better. My favorite part of the tour was getting to ride through several different neighborhoods in the city and being able to get a feel for some of the difference between them as opposed to just riding through them in a car or a bus. Carlos was an excellent tour guide and provided us with a little different viewpoint of daily life in Argentina than we got in a large group bus tour a few days earlier. He also gave us a lesson on the history and significance of Matte (a special Argentinian herbal tea that can be considered a national drink) and a chance to prepare and drink our own cup of Matte. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who was comfortable riding in moderate traffic and was not looking for a demanding ride.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and fun! It ended up being a private tour with just the 3 of us, so he fully catered it to us. What made this tour special was his personal family history and the city. We ate yummy empanadas and grilled cheese sandwiches, plus shared a mate. This 5 hour tour through the city is totally worth it!
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Thank you Allison, it’s nice to hear you had an awesome experience riding with us 🤗

The guide was personable and knowledgeable. There was a lot of native food- no need for dinner. The ride was flat: if you can walk and keep your bike steady during the brief times when we had to go on a road, you will be fine.

Our guide Carlos gave us a very good inside in the life, food, politics and history of Buenos Aires and Argentina. We had a leisurely ride stopping regularly. Carlos also surprised us with a Mate (national drink, tea made and shared in a special way) and cookies break. We took in the atmosphere of la Boca and il Caminito where we had a snack on delicious Empanadas. Lunch by the river in Puerto Madero was a tasty lunch in a very relaxed way. My husband, friends who joined us and I highly recommend this bike tour outfit.

A fantastic day with Carlos visiting highlights, exploring neighborhoods, and learning about Argentinian culture, history, day-to-day life, language, and customs. The read ahead information was very helpful to be prepared for the day. The bikes were mountain/hybrid style and in fine shape. We had no problems picking them for size and Carlos helped adjust them for height to ensure comfort and safety. The briefing was short, but to the point and we were comfortable heading out. The pace is gentle and Carlos did a great job leading and signaling well in advance for slowing, stopping, and turning. Stops were well selected in locations where the noise of the city was diminished and we could dismount and gather without feeling crowded by any traffic or pedestrians. We were in the Southern section of the city, which had bike lanes and quieter streets for the most part, and rather flat. Returning into the city to our start point was a bit busy with traffic and pedestrians. We did need to ride in the busy street for about a kilometer and may give very basic riders a bit of anxiety. In our experience, the Argentinian drivers are pretty respectful of bikers, more so than in the US.
Carlos is extremely capable in English, and masterful with his descriptions, explanations, and stories. I would recommend this trip and him to anyone that feels like seeing Buenos Aires up close and personal.

Thank you very much for your detailed description about the experience we offer 🤗🥰🫶 at the last part of the route, when we ride back to the meeting point through the city center, it’s usually quiet, but sometimes (when there’s a demonstration or a street around is shout down) it could be busy, but we always make sure everybody is safe while sharing the street with some cars 🤓

We had a great bike tour with Carlos! It ended up just being my husband and me, and we had a great ride and learned so many interesting things with Carlos. I especially liked that he shared his Mate (Argentine tea custom) with us. I also appreciated him sharing what’s happening in his country now regarding current events. We had a nice local lunch after having an empanada first! It was just a great day overall. Carlos was awesome!
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you Cindy for your nice review. We loved to share our culture and habits with newcomers in Buenos Aires :)

Carlos is an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. He taught ius how to make and share matte and introduced us to local favorite foods. We explored several different neighborhoods, learned about the founding of the city, the emergence and importance of Argentinian football and the birth of the Tango. It was so easy to get around the city on bikes. I highly I recommend this fun tour when you visit Buenos Aires. It is a great introduction to the city. Thank you Carlos for a wonderful day!
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you Jane for your very detailed description about your local experience by bike 🚴🏼
Bruce_F, Dec 2023
Carlos is a passionate and proud Argentine who gave us an exceptional tour of Buenos Aires. Coupled with his excellent commentary was the tasting of the Mate tea and sweet cake and later the Empanata pastry and steak roll with toppings. We would fully recommend this bike tour to anyone who would like to see the city in a safe up close and personal way. If you are fortunate enough to have Carlos as your guide then we have no doubt he will give you an amazing tour. From the Kiwis from New Zealand we thank you again Carlos for truly giving us some great memories.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you very much Bruce, we totally agree about the Carlos description, but the rest of the team we are also cool guys :)

This tour is the best! We learned so much about the cities history, architecture and culture. It was a great insider look into Buenos Aires and so much better then wandering around alone. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, it’s a great value and we’re so glad we did it. Bonus - I had the best empanada of my life from a secret hole in the wall. Thank you Carlos!
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thank you for your review 🙌🏽 we totally agree those are very good empanadas 🤤

Highly recommend this tour. My guide Carlos was wonderful and I really learned a lot about Buenos Aires history.
Bike and helmet were in good order and always felt safe.
My favorite highlights was the neighborhood La Boca and having a Northern Empenada!

Carlos was a wonderful guide with lots of knowledge about Argentina and Buenos Aires, and a sense of humour. He packs a lot in - several neighborhoods, a lesson in making and drinking mate, an empanada snack, and lunch from a food truck by the river. Felt totally safe riding with him. Highly recommend!
