Itinerary

Meet your guide and group at 10:30am at Tangol Travel Agency, 831 Defensa ST, San Telmo. From there, depart on foot for your walking tour of San Telmo and Puerto Madero.

Learn about San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city and the heart of the tango scene. Walk south through antique markets and on cobblestone streets toward Lezama Park, then on to Puerto Madero. This modern neighborhood is filled with upscale restaurants, hotels, and tall skyscrapers, another take on Buenos Aires entirely. Cross the revolving bridge, Puente de la Mujer, and walk down  Avenida Paseo Colón to the historic Plaza de Mayo. Visit the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo, and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Pass the Obelisk of Buenos Aires on the way to the Teatro Colón.

Choose to take a 50-minute tour of the theater, which visits all of the highlights including the Golden Hall, the Gallery of Busts, and the Main Foyer.

If you opt to visit the MALBA, board a bus for Palermo and end the tour at the museum doors. Entrance fees are included and you can explore at your own pace.

If you choose both the Theater and the Museum when booking, you will first visit the theater, then board a bus for the museum to explore at your own pace.

Sylvia was amazing in every way. She walked in the rain with our group to make our excursion enjoyable.

Thank you so much! We're glad Sylvia made the experience enjoyable even in the rain! Tangol Tours

This walking tour was not our best...

Randall C, Mar 2017
This walking tour was not our best our guide's English was marginal and we had to keep asking him to repeat what he had said he was very young and seemed able to give us canned tour guide information but was not able to discuss things like economics and politics etc. with us. We had been on a 3 hour city bus tour previously and this tour was mostly a repeat of that information. The tour at the Colon Theater was excellent given by a theatre guide and we could have probably just bought tickets for this tour on our own at the MALBA our walking tour ended and we were on our own and must say this museum was a disappointment to us small, half is Brazilian art, English explanations unsatisfying it WAS air conditioned!! and the building is beautiful

Response from Host, Nov 2020

Dear Randall, Thank you for sharing with us your experience. We are sorry to read that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. The guide who made the excursion is a graduate guide, with experience guiding in other tourism companies, and who has also received intensive training in our tours. All our guides are certified. In our tour, we give information about the city and its attractions that can give the traveler a quick overview of our history. Topics like the economy, the religion we try not to discuss, as they may not be of interest to the whole group of passengers. However, we take this feedback and forward it to the guide as an opportunity to improve our services. The Colon Theatre is one of the most important theaters in South America and is the jewel in the Argentine crown. We are happy that you have been able to enjoy it. The Malba, on the other hand, is an important museum but you should be interested in the pieces that are at the moment since they change by seasons. The building of the Malba is very beautiful and the neighborhood is very nice so you can visit the surroundings.  We look forward to your next visit
