A 10-Star Food Journey Through Bologna

We had the absolute best experience with Darren on a private food tour in Bologna. I work in the food world, and yet I still walked away learning so much—and I can confidently say that whether you know a little or nothing at all, you’ll come away with new knowledge, a happy stomach, and a smile. Darren guided us through the city with the perfect mix of history, humor, and deep food knowledge. We tasted our way through local specialties—perfect pasta, regional salumi and cheeses, real balsamic, espresso at his favorite café, gelato, and of course, wine. Every stop felt authentic, never touristy, and you could tell he has genuine connections in the community. Beyond the food, Darren himself made the tour unforgettable. He’s kind, engaging, and has a great sense of humor that made the whole day feel like exploring with a friend who just happens to be an expert. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Highly recommend!

The food tour was fantastic! We loved Darren, our guide. He was friendly, informative and enjoyed all the food experiences. BUT… we did not gate keep!!!! Sitting was part of the experience we enjoyed with Darren. I’m getting real tired of your rudeness and will not be recommending Viator to others. Get with the program.
