Itinerary
This private, half-day tour of Beijing markets can be planned to your liking. You can pick a departure time between 8:30a.m. and 10a.m. Your hotel pickup happens before the departure time you choose.
The first place stop is the Panjiayuan Flea Market, one of the largest markets in all of China. This market has so many curious, artifacts, and Tang dynasty knock-off objects, as well as paintings and antiques. It’s made up of 3,000 individual stalls, and even Hilary Clinton has been known to do some shopping here. Your guide can help you find what you’re interested in, or you can just wander at your leisure.
Next up on the day’s agenda is Hongqiao Pearl Market, where you can enjoy a tea tasting. You can also find a huge array of souvenirs you can buy (own expense) here. Your guide shows you how to use bartering skills to snag items at a cheaper price.
Stop at other local markets and pick up lunch when you’re hungry (own expense), and take a break to eat. After all the fun, enjoy a private ride back to your hotel.

I wanted to experience Beijing shopping without getting overwhelmed so I booked this tour. I got a fantastic Tea Ceremony experience and the chance to head right to the best and most famous shop in the Pearl Market, finished off with a wonderful and authentic lunch featuring Peking Duck. My guide took excellent care of me. Wonderful morning.

Had a great time exploring the markets in Beijing. Very interesting to see local goods and unique items we never knew about. Our tour guide, Lucy, was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of insight, not just about the items at the markets, but about Beijing and Chinese culture as well. Learned a lot! By the end of the day, we felt like we made a great friend. Would definitely recommend

This was great fun! Our guide, Lisa, was exceptional, and taught us a lot about the haggling process as she got us some great deals, but also let us know when a price was already good, and we could just go ahead and pay it. She paid attention to our stated interests, and did not pressure us in the least to go particular places or make particular purchases. She also took into consideration my walking limitations. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to shop for souvenirs, art, odds and ends... anything!

Good way to do bargain shopping with a helpful local. We have bought many wonderful souvenirs and products for reasonable prices. This is highly recommended for those who need help bargaining Chinese style.

Lily took us on this tour and it is with her expertise and guidance that it was a magnificent day. The Beijing markets have something for everyone. We began with the Flea Market. We highly recommend this area as a place to buy original art work. We bought a piece that is about 2 feet by 4 feet on rice paper. The cost was about 35. It is gorgeous.
The shopping center is set up on floors with varying quality. If you are looking to buy pearls, be sure to go to the fourth floor. There is a shop there where state official have purchased their peals. Their photos are all over the walls, so you cannot miss it. This is also a great place for souvenirs. We had tea in the mall and learned about all the different kinds of teas, the difference in their taste and fermenting options.
Again, Lily was key to making this a great day. She has a gentle personality, exquisite English with a lovely lilting voice that you can listen to all day.

Lily was great help and a ton of fun! She really made us step a bit out of our comfort zones and haggle properly with the vendors. She was really helpful showing my dad how to manage it without speaking at all calculators and disapproving looks. I would really recommend this as a nice half-day trip to buy anything you missed while you were in the city

Dear Joanna,
Huge thanks for the awesome review! So stoked Lily was such a fantastic, fun guide for you guys—she absolutely crushed it helping you step out of your comfort zones and master the art of haggling, especially that genius tip for your dad with the calculator and disapproving looks (total pro move!) 😂
