Overall, this was a decent tour, but there are a few things future travelers should know.
The tour is advertised as a Chinese and English combo tour, but the vast majority of the guide's explanations were given in Chinese. English-speaking guests received only limited information, so if you're expecting detailed historical commentary in English, you may be disappointed.
The guide was friendly, organized, and did their best to keep everything running smoothly. Due to heavy rains prior to our visit, the Ancient Great Wall section was closed. Instead, the tour gave us additional time at Badaling Great Wall, which actually worked out very well. Badaling is impressive, and the extra time allowed us to explore more of the wall without feeling rushed.
One thing I would strongly caution against is the optional show. It felt like a tourist trap and was not worth the extra cost. The performance was entirely in Chinese, so non-Chinese speakers are unlikely to understand or enjoy it.
In summary: nice guide, great experience at Badaling, but limited English commentary and skip the show if you don't speak Chinese.

This was our 2nd tour in Beijing and it was amazing. Our guide was Jackie Chan (English name after the actor) and he was very knowledgeable and very nice. He knew exactly what we wanted to do, and showed us some great spots around the wall. The summer palace was really beautiful as well.

We essentially overpaid just for transportation. A third-party company arranged the car, which created more confusion than if we had simply booked our own. We were under the impression we had paid for a private tour, only to be told later that we hadn’t — in the end, we just paid for someone to arrange a ride.
The Great Wall itself was an incredible experience, but booking through Viator felt like a costly mistake and an unnecessary middle step. To make things worse, the company misinformed us, saying the only way down was by cable car or by walking all the way back, which turned out not to be true.
Overall, we wish we had arranged the trip independently — it would have been cheaper, clearer, and far less frustrating.
