Touring St. Nicholas Abbey was the highlight. Virginia, the guide, was excellent and it was evident how much she enjoys her job and her boss with her enthusiasm. She was incredibly knowledgeable and the house was fascinating!
Our only issue is that it was confusing in selecting the train and the house tour in that our train ride was very truncated.

An enjoyable ride in an old spark engined carriage. The guide was outstanding, giving the history of the plantation as well as the railway.
The house was small, but full of bajan history, having a commentary from our guide which was clear and easily understandable.
We were also shown the rum distillery, the production of the bottles from 5 years to 40 in strength. We were treated to a sampling of both the white rum and 5 year rum ….. very interesting and tasty. The gift shop was small yet packed with easily priced goods - this was a plaesure as so often the gift shops in other places takes a larger site than the workshops. Well done management.
We ate at the small restaurant, with food which was easy and enjoyable, well run by the staff.
This whole experience was first rate.

The train ride is too short if you take the basic one of $35, not worth it plus the taxi ride is long and expensive too for such a 10 minute ride one way and 10 minutes back and the rest is just talking about the history of the place!

The train is fun, even though it was really crowded. Do not recommend paying for the rum tasting. You get two small sips of the worst options and even if you’d want to buy a bottle of the older vintage there isn’t an option to try. Based on the ones we tried the quality wasn’t worth investing in the actual ones we would drink.

Overall, everything was great! My kids loved the train ride. They even got to blow the whistle of the train. The staff were very friendly and nice. We had a great time, the only complaint would be the train ride to the look out and back was less than 10 minutes one way. It was a bit short!

Viator gave us the wrong time for meeting the train. We had tickets for the 2:45 pm train on March 21. We arrived 10 minutes early only to find out there was no train. The train we were told departed at 2:45 actually departed at 2 pm, so we missed it! Thank you Viator!

We had a wonderful time visiting the Abbey. I thought it was a church or religious place. Came to find out it was a Rum Distillery. We had a wonderful train ride, tour of the house and a great time sampling the Rum with Simon. He was so friendly and funny. Great experience, a must see on your trip to the Island.

It was a fun experience. Very informative and the staff was friendly. Not really pointed out by anyone there but after the rum tasting if you stick around and just explore the property there is a windmill on the property you can look into and also a little platform that you can stand on top of. We happened to stumble upon it

My husband is a huge railroad fan. The crew on the railroad was the very best we have had. And we have rode a lot of trains. I can’t thank them enough for letting him ride in the engine. The prices on the rum to high and the food prices to high. The lady that gave us the tour of the house was amazing as well. And she was funny. Can’t wait for the expansion.

As the heavy train struggled to ascend the steep grade, we patiently awaited the arrival of the rescue engine, which was dispatched to lend its power and expertise to assist us in overcoming this challenging section of the journey. The anticipation built as we listened for the distant sound of the approaching locomotive, knowing that soon we would have the extra strength needed to tackle the incline.
Meanwhile, once we had successfully navigated the obstacles of the journey, we took the opportunity to turn the locomotive on the turntable, a fascinating process that showcased the intricate mechanics of railway operations. It was an impressive sight to see the massive engine pivot gracefully, preparing for its next leg of the journey.
Afterward, we embarked on a delightful tour of the nearby distillery, where the rich aromas of aging spirits filled the air. We learned about the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into the distillation process, from the selection of the finest ingredients to the aging in oak barrels. The experience was both educational and enjoyable, offering us a deeper appreciation for the art of distilling and the unique flavors that can be produced. Overall, it was a day filled with memorable moments, both on the rails and off.
