A wonderful fascinating historical walking tour around Bridgetown with Claudette a passionate local historian. What Claudette doesn't know isn't worth knowing and her enthusiasm is infectious! The pace is gentle and suitable for all, with regular stops to appreciate and absorb the history of where you are. Claudette supplies a bottle of iced water at the begining and then treats you to some local delicacies enroute.

We had such a great tour of Bridgetown with Claudette. She’s a historian and an absolute fountain of knowledge, but also a fantastic storyteller of Barbados' history— as history lovers, it felt like a perfect match for us. Our warmest recommendation: yes, the beaches are magical and it’s hard to leave them, but it’s absolutely worth spending a morning with Claudette to to understand (and admire) Barbados even more!

Insightful living history I will always remember

Carol_W, Mar 2026
Immensely enjoyable, close-up introduction to Bridgetown's history and population. Claudette started us off with introductions, creating a cohesive and friendly international group. I was awed by her encyclopedic knowledge as a trained historian, plus her passionate opinions and connection to her country. The walking pace and distance were easy but every step counted--the shady spots appreciated. We zoomed from big picture to small details (the cannons on street corners). Thank you Claudette and best wishes!

A really insightful tour of old Bridgetown. I learned a lot of Barbados history. The restored synagogue was really interesting (I went back and saw it and the museum after the tour.). And I’m not even Jewish.

Claudette was a fantastic guide today. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour from beginning to end, she was friendly and so knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to everyone, it was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Learning a little history about where I vacation is always a treat.

Stevess, Oct 2025
Our tour guide was Zachary and he was a wealth of knowledge and a joy to be around. It is flat walking so not strenuous walking and very interesting. It was hot and raining a bit off and on but go early as you can so it’s not too crazy! He also gave us a great lunch recommendation that was exactly what I was looking for.

Brilliant tour of Bridgetown, learning its past and its present

Angela_R, Apr 2025
This was a fantastic tour of Bridgetown with a knowledgeable guide who bought the past to life. Although the tour is listed as 2 hours, it went on much longer so leave yourselves plenty of time.

Light Walking Tour of Bridgetown

andy_D, Feb 2025
A political history tour without going too far from the Parliament area. We were expecting to walk and see more places of interest and to visit a more varied sights of Bridgetown. It is an interesting political history lecture rather than a walking tour.

Very enjoyable and informative tour

Ralitsa_N, Feb 2025
Claudette was very knowledgeable and full of personality. She made the tour really interesting and enjoyable. She carried a heavy bag of cold water bottles that she brought for the group which was very kind of her. Appreciated the fact she's a historian and is passionate about what she does.

Claudette is a professional historian and a lovely person. I had an inspiring and educational 1:1 tour which I absolutely relished. 100% recommend! Delicious juice at the end of the trip, and then I popped to Carlisle Bay for a well earned rest after the hot walk about town. Claudette you are super! Thank you for teaching me so much.

The Best Bridgetown Tour!!

Terra_M, May 2024
Claudette was a wonderful tour guide. Her knowledge and passion of the Barbados history was captivating. The rhythm of the tour felt very organic. Her warm smile, laugh and enthusiasm made the whole experience wonderful. She had lots of neat facts and promoted an interaction dialog. There was even a surprise ar the end of the tour. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, and would recommend to anyone!!

claudette is Barbados

Jeffrey_M, May 2024
we were very lucky to be the only ones to book the tour that day. Claudette met us promptly at 930am and supplied a nice bottle of cold water. She is an amazing woman. extremely knowledgeable, passionate about her heritage and loves to speak about it. We walked around Bridgetown viewing beautiful churches, people and monuments. BUT MOST OF ALL; this was a history tour through the town. Amazing insight and being from South Carolina, i suggested that she come visit the International African American Museum in Charleston. There are so many connections between SC and Barbados. I also suggested visiting the slave museum in Charleston as well. She loved the idea as i feel Barbados should build a museum in connection to the two here in SC. We absolutely loved the tour as well as Claudette. You must walk with her.

Claudette was EXCELLENT! We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. Her knowledge of her country is inspiring and she had us rivetted for a full 3 hours (and it was a 2 hour tour! She is so passionate about the history of Barbados that she didn't mind having us for longer). I would recommend her to anyone, well worth your time and worth every cent!

A wonderful experience!

Claudette is one of the most passionate tour guides we have ever had. She is a real historian and is preserving the history of her culture and sharing it with the world. This was great tour full of stories and conversation while seeing the sights. You will not be disappointed if you love history. Claudette is an amazing historical orator!!!

Fantastic tour from a great storyteller

Lara_H, Jan 2024
Claudette was an excellent guide, she really brought history to life through fantastic storytelling, and we got to know her a bit as a person too. She waited for us when we were running late and was always patient and considerate with us and indeed with passers by and people we met on the street. We spent a full three hours with her, the tour is excellent value for money. Claudette is an historian who is passionate about her field. It was a pleasure to be in her company.

As first time visitors to Barbados, it was a pleasure to do the walking tour of Bridge Town, with such a lovely Tour Guide as Claudette Levi-Farnum. She has so much passion ,Love and knowledge about your Island. We were able to connect and share information, with relations to Barbados’s long standing history and the similarities of some Canadian History in regards to the Black Canadian ,s of Canada 🇨🇦 I highly recommend Claudette for a Tour Guide and Thank you for taking time for my daughter, it was greatly appreciated ☀️☀️🙏🏾🙏🏾🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦😎😎🦝
