Our tour in Barbados with GK was outstanding from start to finish. She picked us up near the port in a spotless SUV and immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome.
GK is articulate, easy to understand, and incredibly knowledgeable about her country. She drove us all over the island, safely navigating winding roads while sharing fascinating history and local insight. We felt completely safe the entire time.
She even staged and took beautiful photos for us that we will cherish forever.

This tour was a great way to get to know Barbados in a short amount of time. The guide, GK was so very knowledgeable and very professional. She made it very clear that she wanted to provide us with the best experience possible. We learned a lot about the country and GK took us to the best places and at the times that were not crowded. The tour is mostly driving with a couple of brief stops for photos and restrooms and a longer stop for lunch . GK imparted a good deal of info on the history, geology, culture and economy of Barbados, along with recommendations for shopping, dining, etc. It was a very worthwhile tour for our first day here. Note that her vehicle is pretty small. Three adults in the back seat are rather crammed together.

Regarding seating, our experience is advertised as a small-group SUV tour (max: 4 participants + the driver-guide). As reflected in the majority of our reviews, most guests find the seating in our SUV comfortable. However, we understand that some guests may require or prefer additional space.
For this reason, we offer a Comfort Plus upgrade, which is clearly listed on our listing, at checkout and again mentioned in the pickup information. This option guarantees the front passenger seat or, subject to availability, up to 2 seats in the back to those who require additional space. The tour may also be booked as a private tour allowing 1-4 guests of all ages.

GK was our guide for the day. Her SUV was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There were 3 other people in the car. GK is extremely knowledgable and friendly. She pointed out many interesting places and facts. She had complimentary drinks and snacks. In Speightstown for the lunch stop we all opted for Caboose which GK recommended and it didnt disappoint. This 6hr trip is brilliant and well worth it😀😎🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧🇧

This tour was fabulous! Our stops were amazing & planned so well. Gianni was fantastic, personal & very knowledgeable of Barbados. She made the trip very relaxing & fun. So many great tips for places to see, eat, stay & she even shared some bajan recipes. A nice added touch providing us with snacks, beer & water. She was also taking picture for us. Our tour guide in Barbados was excellent — very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging throughout the entire tour. You could really tell from how confidently she answered all our questions. She made the experience enjoyable, informative, and memorable. I highly recommend booking the excursion early in your trip, as she gives excellent recommendations that are useful throughout your stay, especially for trying local food since some dishes are only available on specific days. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

G was a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable and spoke clearly, which for someone with a hearing problem was brilliant. We took this tour to give us an overview of the island,we visited parts we would not otherwise have made it to and took some fabulous photos. The car was comfortable made for a smooth ride with G's expert avoidance of the potholes. A great day out. Thank you G for making it special.

Yes, all those 5**** reviews are true! GK is kind, smart and fun and enjoys sharing her love of Barbados. What a treat to be picked up at our front door and share a tour with only two other passengers, all for a reasonable price. Every tours should be this good!

Our driver and guide, Gianni, give us an excellent tour of the island, as described in the itinerary. This have us a great insight into Barbados history and culture as well as a few of the main attractions. Just 4 of us (2 couples) in Gianni's SUV and we felt completely safe with her. She is charming and extremely knowledgeable. We had a great day!

We did need to cancel your tour due to a mechanical issue with the SUV that was scheduled for your experience. We attempted to call you as early as 7:00am to alert you, however we were unable to reach you as you were on a cruise ship at the time with no cell service. Unfortunately, mechanical issues are outside of our control. The SUV in question is fairly new (one year old) and we do not typically have any issues. On this occasion, there was a symbol alert which we needed to have checked by a professional.
A full refund was offered to you, along with the option of a later start time once the issue was resolved. You requested a full refund, which was processed. We did not receive a response regarding the later start option. The issue with our SUV was then later resolved.
While we understand you would naturally be disappointed, a full refund was offered without hesitation. However, while disappointing for you and also for us, we will never compromise the safety of our guests for the sake of operating a tour.

We were picked up at our resort in a mid size car. There was already another couple in the car. There was not a lot of room for 2 more people in this car. The tour felt rushed as our tour guide was late to pick us up by 1 hour. What we did see was good, but just want everyone to be aware of the close quarters in a mid size car for this 7 hour tour (well 6 hour)

You were picked up in our 5-seater black “Suzuki Grand Vitara” SUV, as shown in our tour listing gallery. I personally completed this tour on November 11, 2025 and as outlined in our listing, this is a *shared SUV tour* accommodating a maximum of 4 participants + the driver-guide. There was indeed another couple on board, as expected for this tour. We also offer optional upgrades such as Comfort Plus and Private Tour which are displayed on our tour listing, none of which you selected at checkout or after you received our comprehensive pickup email which also displayed our upgrade options. As such, guests booking the standard option should expect to share the vehicle with others. We also wish to make readers aware that Mrs. Hooft sat in the back row and she was actually in “close quarters” as she describes, with her husband (someone she knew) and another lovely lady.
Regarding pickup, you initially received a pickup window of: 9:00-9:20am and as we advised in our pickup email, “Please check your email on the morning of your tour in case there are any last-minute pickup updates.” On your particular tour date, there was indeed a pickup time amendment. You received a pickup update from us at 8:30am (30 mins before pickup) advising you that due to traffic, your pickup window was amended to 9:30-9:50am. We believe 30 minutes gave you ample notice of the change. However, to your admission when picked up, you saw our message late hence you waited in the lobby longer than you needed to. However, we upheld our end by clearly communicating any changes.
You then stated you were rushed, it is unclear how you were rushed if by your account, the tour has an approximate duration of 6 hours but you stated you were in the SUV for 7 hours. In any case, you absolutely received your full time at each location. Every stop has a duration, we announce the time to be back at the vehicle at every stop, this is done to keep things on schedule, as is industry standard for any professional tour company who follow an itinerary.
Naturally, we were disappointed to receive this review, particularly as we previously held a perfect 5-star rating, we will however utilise this opportunity to clarify expectations for future guests. Readers will note that we hold a Badge of Excellence, appear on the first page of Viator Barbados, and that 99% of travellers recommend our experience. We are so grateful that people from all over the world have fallen in love with our tour because of its price point, SUV appeal, and the hard work and dedication we pour into every tour. Our guests feel very welcomed and we truly have a good day together as a group.
We however wish to remind prospective guests that this is a shared SUV tour. Close proximity to others is to be expected unless an upgrade is selected. By selecting 1 Adult when booking and choosing “Comfort Plus” this guarantees you the front passenger seat or, if available, up to two reserved seats in the back. A Private Tour may also be booked by selecting 4 Adults to reserve the entire vehicle, this selection allows 1-4 guests of all ages on the private tour format. Guests are also expected to check their emails (inbox/junk/spam or Viator chat) prior to the tour, as we will communicate your assigned pickup time + tour info. You are also reminded to check your emails again on the morning of the tour for any pick-up updates. We also sometimes send WhatsApp updates if we deem it necessary. While we always aim to pick guests up within the stated pickup window, sometimes traffic and operational factors can require adjustments, so you must check for any pick-up updates.

GK gave us an absolutely fantastic tour of Barbados. She is incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely funny, and such a joy to be around—warm, kind, and welcoming from start to finish. She didn’t just share historical facts; she brought the island to life through her personal stories and perspective from growing up and living in Barbados. That local insight made the experience feel authentic and special, not scripted or generic. She also thoughtfully provided drinks and snacks, which was such a nice touch and showed how much she cares about her guests. The tour was engaging, informative, and fun the entire time. GK was fantastic. As we started our tour, she provided an introduction to beautiful island of Barbados and as we drove to each Parish, she gave us tons of info for all relevant points of interest! We visited Rihanna’s childhood home.
We stopped at fantastic view points throughout the island. I would give her a 10+. She also provided much appreciated snacks and beverages!!! I would highly recommend this excursion!!!

before our tour, we were told by other families and friends that there is nothing to see/ do in Barbados. Well, Gianni showed us otherwise. Barbados as she calls it is a mini USA. One of the most developed Islands we have visited. You can tell she has great passion and pride in her country. Since it was a private tour she tailored it to our needs and then some. She was kind, knowledgeable and thoughtful. Also takes great pictures. It was a spectacular highlights tour of Barbados and definitely peaked our interest to re-visit and stay longer. We were sad when our tour ended, but were happy we didn't listen to what we were told and explored for ourselves. Gianni is GREAT. Our favorite tour by far. You will not regret this tour and YES there is so much to see and do in Barbados :).

For clarity to readers, during the tour the guest naturally asked several questions about daily life in Barbados. In response, it was explained that while Barbados is a Caribbean country and smaller in size than the United States, it functions in many of the same ways as larger countries.
For example, locals also have access to internet, electricity, and water, and these services are paid for on a monthly basis, just as they are in the guest’s home country. There is also a wide range of professions across the island, reflecting a modern and diverse working society.
Barbados operates as a modern, developing Caribbean country and should be viewed as such, rather than as a destination lacking everyday infrastructure. Barbados is not literally a “mini USA.” It is a Caribbean country with its own identity, rich culture, and history. However, even as a smaller country, it utilises its resources and systems in ways that are comparable to other developed countries.
In short, locals are not without access to everyday infrastructure, just as visitors are not in their home countries.

We had an amazing time on the tour led by GK. We got to see so much of what Barbados has to offer. GK would really take the time to point out and explain so many aspects of the island including it's history, geography, economics and more. Definitely recommend doing the tour early in your trip as GK gives lots of helpful tips and recommendations.
