Maurizio our guide was so sweet and the dog was happy searching for truffles. He would sniff and start to dig then we were shown how to dig them up! You do go up and down the hillside, and our guide was helpful to assure we didn’t slip. The country side views were stunning. I really enjoyed the experience.

I’m not sure, unfortunately the providers cancelled just an hour before the event :( However their dog had to be taken to the vet, and they did fully refund my payments.

A great (but unusual) thing to do for visitors to do in Italy. If you know about truffles, you will find this interesting. Hiking through the beautiful countryside following Balto (the dog), resulted in him finding numerous black truffles, some big, some small. (White truffles are later in the year.) Our guide had each of us dig out a truffle that Balto had amazingly just sniffed out, to get the truffle out the correct way. It was very interesting watching how Balto listened to his owner then went to work finding truffles. We got to take some of the truffles “home” too. Very interesting experience!

We had a wonderful experience. Gemma and Her partner And Barto Were amazing. We learned a great deal from very skilled truffle hunters. We saw many black Summer truffles. We enjoyed the couple from Lithuania. We explored beautiful countryside and had an amazing hike. Thank you very much!

The actual truffle hunting experience was good. Gemma was lovely to deal with and Barto was an expert! I didn’t think the experience was value for money though. Other truffle hunting experiences offer tastings for the same costs. We also had to use our own car to drive to the forest because there wasn’t enough space in the company’s vehicles.

The truffle hunting experience was one of the highlights of my trip to Assissi. Hiking through the beautiful green hills learning about how truffles grow, and working with the well-trained dog and his master to find the truffles was a memory. Digging up the truffle was like finding a treasure. One of the most outdoor, authentic experiences of my trip. The guide who stayed with us during the trip was so kind and personable…making sure we were all watched after while we wandered the through the hill paths. I would highly recommend this activity.

Barto, the Lagotto, and I immediately bonded, perhaps because my son has a Lagotto from Arezzo. We found truffles in about 6 locations. I enjoyed gettingbthe chance to carefully dig them out. Truffle hunting with a Lagotto is something I always wanted to do, so i will ever forget our adventure. Jena taught me something about truffles too.

Barto the truffle hunting dog was awesome. We hiked through a forest, crossed creeks, over rocks and up and down hills. This was not a tour for people having a problem walking and hiking up and down hills We had fun and the town of Assisi is a definite plus.

This event has been on my “to do list” for a long time. It was fun to meet Barto the dog and enjoyed walking in the woods. (I have bad knees so I’m glad I brought my walking stick). The tour guide took pictures of me with the dog and the truffles we found. A great experience.

The tour was awesome and the guides were very professional!! They started this tour not so long ago so there aren’t many reviews yet but surely very professional and kind. If you are in Assisi make sure you go for truffle hunt with this agent ^^

2 great guides for the price of one! Can speak highly of both- very nice- great sense of humor- berto our hunting dog was awesome and super at finding 3-4 different truffles- must have found 15-18 in less than 2 hours- saw some spectacular sites while hunting- the truffle expert was gracious and even took us up to the top of the
Mountain outside of assissi! Most fun we had in assissi as a whole family- kids really loved it too

The experience of "hunting" truffles with the dog was amazing. Having had truffles as part of my food experience for years and years and hearing stories of the difficultness of finding a truffle, it was amazing to see the dog capture the spot where the truffle is hiding in the forest, then the trained hunter take the truffle from the spot where it was found is very fun and worth the time.

What a wonderful experience. Our guide took us out to the Umbrian woods and along with their dog helped us find many many truffles. We felt like we got a close look behind the curtain of this mysterious community of truffle hunters. Can’t recommend this experience enough!!!

We loved our truffle hunt! The dogs were so cute and friendly and our toddler loved watching them. Even though it was off-season, we found several kinds of truffles and of course stumbled across Roman aqueducts in the forest. The views from the second location we visited were phenomenal - at the top of a hill overlooking farms. Highly recommend!
The guide also knew the plants and scat we came across inside and out and gave our toddler a children's book at the end about the biodiversity of the region. The guide also emphasized the conservation aspect of their truffle-hunting.

Esperienza fantastica, fuori dal quotidiano. Barto è stato un compagno speciale e bravissimo, abbiamo trovato insieme un bel numero di tartufi. Il tartufaio simpatico e disponibile, ci ha spiegato tutto sulla raccolta nei minimi dettagli! Torneremo per la stagione del bianco :)

Charmante expérience, nos guides nous ont donné beaucoup d’informations sur la « chasse aux truffes ». Agréable randonnée en forêt avec leur chien Barco (j’espère que je ne massacre pas son nom) qui est impressionnant à voir aller! Malgré la température qui n’était pas favorable (trop sec) nous avons quand même réussi à trouver quelques truffes. Je recommande chaudement

Experiência única, vale a pena. O cachorro Bartho é muito fofo e o guia muito gentil. Deve ter atenção se tiver mobilidade reduzida. Recomendo.
