- A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
- Please notice: on Sundays, big Catholic holidays and National holidays, guided tours inside the Basilica of St. Francis ar forbidden. Your guide will explain to you the church from outside, and you will enter alone on silence.
- The tour is in English
- IMPORTANT: Matteotti parking lot is closed for renovation; no parking is possible. The meeting point remains confirmed at Matteotti parking lot.
- On October 4th the Basilica of St. Francis is closed
- Due to the public display of the relics of St. Francis, access to the basilica of St. Francis will be suspended from February 15 to April 6, 2026. During this period, the guide will provide the explanation from outside the basilica.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

To begin, we showed up late! However, I reached out to Viator, and had some of the best customer service I ever received. We got caught in traffic, and I thought we would miss the tour entirely, and the wonderful staff helped us through the situation. Once they learned that we would be late, they reached out on WhatsAPP, and kept in contact with me until our arrival. Once we did arrive in Assisi, our guide(Alessandra) and group were extremely easy to find. Upon our arrival, she gave us a rundown of what we had missed, where to go after the tour to see what we had missed, and proceeded to bring us on the rest of the tour. She was absolutely amazing. She made it clear to us from the get go of what we were going to see and what we weren't. The tour, and the city is ABSOLUTELY amazing. Regardless of what you're there to see, you will fall in love with this city. This tour is absolutely worth every penny, and I highly recommend it to anyone. Alessandra was an incredible guide, and we were extremely lucky to have her.

Major problem was the lack of tour guide enabled audio headset. We were a large group visiting a few churches and other places. Given the need to quietly communicate, the tour should have included the headsets, but didn’t. So for most of the tour it was nearly impossible to hear what the guide was saying. Finally for our last stop, the Papal Basilica, we were required to purchase a headset. It was ironic and unexpected since we had needed headsets for the entire tour. Making us pay for them just for the last place on the tour was ridiculous. We should have been given the headsets at NO Charge from the beginning of the tour. I was disappointed with how this tour was organized.

Dear Marie, the group was not large, and in any case we provided two guides to create two small groups.
The booking clearly states that headsets must be purchased at the Basilica of St. Francis. I'm sorry you didn't read this part. Giving only 3 stars because you didn't have headphones seems excessive to me, when other people on the same tour gave 5 stars. It's a shame to have come to Assisi and thought about headphones instead of appreciating and enjoying the beauty of this magnificent city.

Directions were unclear from the provider and not given in a timely manner. We used the app directions feature and were directed to an underground parking structure. We started walking to the meeting location and found we were several minutes away and were walking up hill. We tried using app communication function to find the location by the time someone contacted us the tour had already begun. We were told 13 people found the location and we were the only people that didn’t. We planed this months in advance this was our vacation highlight only to be left behind. We regret not being there and requested a refund with no response.

You went to the wrong meeting point. All the other participants were present. We wrote to you and suggested meeting the guide at another location, but you got lost and didn't go. There's nothing we can do about it, but it wasn't our fault that you didn't go on the tour.

Great way to find out very interesting, historical, cultural… facts about Assisi. It was very pleasant to have a guide who seemed genuinely interested in what he presented and also interested in echanging with the group. The 2,5 hours did not feel long, even for my teenagers.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Assisi. She took time to explain everyting in detail and took the time to answer all our questions. You can tell that she is excited to share this history. Assisi is as medeval city and has culture that still feels very ancient.

Francesca provided a knowledgeable guided tour we enjoyed. She was gracious and kind, full of historical facts about the city and the saints. We particularly were moved by the frescos and her explanations. We would do this again.
Feedback:
1. We were not aware of an additional €2.50 fee per person to enter one of the sanctuaries. We were at the end of our Italian journey and were reducing our € cash. It was almost a problem for us.
2. The microphone system was helpful. However, the ear pieces did not work well in my ears and were quite uncomfortable.

We had the BEST tour yesterday. I was unsure of hour my 3 kids (17, 14, and 11) would do with the 2.5 hour walking tour but they absolutely loved it. Our guide did an incredible job of sharing so much about the history of St. Francis. All five of us walked away with a greater appreciation for the artwork that we saw.

Our group of 7 totally enjoyed our Assisi tour with Alessandra on our first day in Italy. In fact, she set the bar for all guides afterward!
We loved our walk through town for all the sights (the highlights being the views and both St. Clare’s and St. Francis’ basilicas.
Our guide was terrific at teaching the area’s history and her passion was infectious! Would highly recommend.

We were late getting to the tour due to the horrific parking situation in Assissi. Yes, we were the goofy Americans that have to drive a huge SUV due to the amount of guests we have in our party. We connected with Alessandra and she graciously met us at the Basilica to start our tour. It was our fault that we missed the portion of the tour dealing with the central square of Assissi. She was phenomenal, gracious and knowledgeable and made the Basilica come to life with her stories.
