What are people saying about Antigua

Must try experience!!
I LOVED this class!! I chose the option to learn how to make all the dishes and the time flew. The team are all super lovely people, kind, patient, and helpful while you're learning, and the dishes we made were delicious. My favourite was the fried plantains and chocolate mole - so good!! Must try experience in Antigua. Great communication as well for the pick up and drop off to the class, as it's located just out of town.

Must do!!
Such a great experience! Walking through the market was super cool and something we probably would not have done had it not been for this tour. Food was excellent and plentiful. The fruits were also delicious and again something I likely would not have tried on my own. Milton has a beautiful home and was a great host along with Diego.

Daryl was an amazing guide!
We did this ATV coffee tour the day after we did the ATV sunset tour in Antigua by the same tour agency - Simoon Rentals and Tours. We could not have asked for a better guide who was so knowledgeable and gave us a full rundown on the coffee making process at the coffee farm Finca La Azotea which was in a beautiful setting in Jocotenango, a town just north of Antigua. Initially after visiting the historic coffee farm we were supposed to go to Cerro de La Cruz but we had already covered that during the sunset tour the previous day, so Daryl was kind enough to instead take us to a busy plaza in San Pedro Las Huertas where we could see a cool communal washing station where people would gather to wash clothes together and trade gossip and we also got to understand the process of mining, refining, and designing jade at a nearby family-run jade shop that is 3 generations strong. The pieces were so beautiful and learning about the jade-making process was so informative that we were happy to support them by buying a few pieces from them and their prices are more than fair and don’t overpriced! The shop is named king brothers jades Munro Maya. If you decide to take this your will not regret your time and money spent and I would highly recommend asking for Daryl to be your tour guide as he’s very kind, informative and speaks English very well :)

Perfect way to kick off our trip to Antigua!
We spent the morning walking around Antigua with Roberto and learned more about its history and rich culture. The tour was a nice balance of facts and fun. We discovered and toured places within Antigua we would have not found on our own and felt the 3-hours went by quickly.

Amazing Pacaya Horseback Riding Experience with Guy
The Pacaya horseback riding tour was amazing and had beautiful views. Our guide, Guy, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience so much fun. The horses were well cared for, and we felt safe the entire time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Antigua

Fun, informative, and...
Fun, informative, and tasty experience in Antigua! The chocolate maker was fun and engaging with the whole audience. Making the chocolate was also fun! You can stay after and read more about the history of chocolate on their posters throughout the building.

Just BOOK it!
This was such a good time! This was my last day in Antigua and this was such a great way to spend it. We learned about some history, culture and then cooking. It was only 3 of us in the class and I think that added to everything. If you are on the fence about this, DO IT. You won’t be disappointed. And Dario was just a pleasure to to have as a guide.

Best Excursion of the Trip – A Joyful, Shared ExperienceI
I went into this cooking class expecting to learn specific recipes (a teaspoon of this, a half cup of that), but what I actually took away was far more valuable. I learned how much Guatemalans value food and meals as deeply shared experiences. In that sense, it was one of the most insightful and memorable lessons of our entire vacation. There were 12 of us “students,” and the chef was brilliant connecting with each of us. With his warm personality, humor, and perfectly timed pours of wine, he turned the evening into a lively, festive gathering. We all became his sous chefs around a large, beautifully arranged prep table filled with ingredients for an appetizer, soup, entrée, and dessert. Everyone pitched in with prep tasks—mine included chopping vegetables and then making the fresh tortilla dough. (Somehow the chef sensed I’d been experimenting passionately with pizza dough at home for months—talk about a magical touch!)The real highlight was the group dynamic. Complete strangers quickly felt like old friends. We laughed, talked nonstop, and connected in a way that only happens when people are cooking, eating, and sharing wine together. The evening was pure joy from start to finish. I may not have walked away with new technical cooking skills, but I gained a genuine appreciation for the Guatemalan approach to food as something communal and celebratory. Easily the most entertaining and heartfelt 4 hours we spent on any excursion. Highly recommended!

Delicious food and wonderful tour guide!
We had a wonderful time and ate great food! It was really nice exploring some nearby towns to get a true taste of local cuisine. Our tour guide Nelly was fantastic and made the experience unforgettable. She was super knowledgeable about the food and was even able to tell the group about some Guatemalan history. Highly recommend!

Great Private Shuttle
I was extremely satisfied with my experience. We booked a private shuttle for 3 people from Antigua to Guatemala City. The car was clean, spacious and had AC which was much appreciated. The driver was very friendly and helpful, and arrived on time for our scheduled booking. I would highly recommend booking this service.

Fun Cultural Tour
This was a great tour that took us to smaller towns outside of Antigua. We visited family-run businesses, including a chocolate factory, coffee plantation and textile weaving business; and a village market where we tried local foods. Riding the ATVs added an element of fun to the cultural excursion. Highly recommend!

Participating in the...
Participating in the chocolate making experience in Guatemala was both incredibly fun and educational. From the moment we started, I was engaged in every step of the process, from learning about the cacao beans to actually making chocolate. I discovered so many fascinating things about how chocolate is produced, including the traditional methods used in Guatemala and how cacao has played an important role in the country’s history and culture for centuries. The hands on activity allowed me to experiment with flavors and textures, making the learning process interactive and memorable. Overall, it was a delightful experience that combined history, culture, and creativity in a unique and enjoyable way.
