Overview
Admire the Algarve sunrise or sunset from the saddle during a horseback ride along the beach and forest trails. The private experience is bookable just for your own group, so you'll have the undivided attention of a guide as you explore the pine forests, dunes, and sands around Bordeira Beach. A riding helmet is provided.

- Helmet will be provided. Please, wear long trousers, leggings, comfy pants, closed and comfortable shoes. In the winter time, bring something to wear on in case it’s colder.

Being in Carrapateira Village (next to Aljezur) main road N268 and turning to the Bordeira beach road, you will find us at the right hand of the road, 100 meters from Cato Restaurant. Our office /shop is a container lined with wood and flags in the front to easily announce the arrival to our place.

We really enjoyed the horse riding experience! Bea, the coach, is incredibly friendly and caring, which made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the ride. She also took many photos for us, which was a lovely bonus. The views were absolutely stunning, and we were lucky to have amazing weather on the day. The experience was relaxing and well organized, and you can even enjoy horse riding in mid-December. Highly recommended!

An amazing evening riding horses on Bordiera Beach in Portugal. The horses were great and well taken care of. Our guide Beatrix was very personable. She shared her love for the horses as well as Portugal and the area around. It was magical riding over the dunes, through the pine forests, to cliffs overlooking the ocean and finally across the beach at sunset. Beatrix took over 70 pics plus videos of the ride that she shared with us after the ride. This was great so we could enjoy the ride. We were fortunate that the whole group were experienced riders so we were able to have an exhilarating gallop across the beach. A memory we will cherish forever.

My husband and I had an amazing time on our tour. The weather was perfect and the sunset was beautiful! We had to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances but we were able to still take our ride later in the week. 10/10 recommend!

We booked this tour via Viator and were very much looking forward to it. However, there is a weight limit for riders, and you are required to fill out the height and weight requirements of each rider upon registration. Viator nor the tour operation never informed us that 2 of us exceeded the weight limit. We showed up for the tour and were told at that time that 2 of us were not able to participate in the tour.
We requested a refund for 2 of the riders but the tour operator would not refund our money since we were within the 24 hour cancellation window. NOTE: The tour operator is aware that this situation occurs and has done nothing to check the weight limitations of registered participants upon registration. You only find out when you arrive and by then it's too late.
A very costly situation. The tour operation and viator should have worked out a solution for this since it has happened multiple times before.

Once again we are sorry for this situation but it is out of our control. We have warnings all over booking process regarding the weight limit. Viator doesn't provide a tecnhical solution for this.
But you should also pay attention to all info before booking.
Hope that people read your review and pay attention to weight limit. Since our horses can’t handle it. We will always protect the horses.

This was truly one of the best experiences of my life! The horses were absolutely lovely and so well-behaved, which made the whole ride feel comfortable and enjoyable, even for beginners like us. The experience was beginner friendly and the instructor was fantastic, she guided us with patience and skill, making sure we felt confident throughout. She also took amazing photos for us along the way, which was such a thoughtful touch.
If you’re ever in Lagos, this is a must-try experience. Riding through the beautiful surroundings with such gentle horses and a great guide made it unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. And we are sorry you couldn't try our bordeira beach horse riding tour. We are glad you understand why we cancelled. Strong winds here are not a LOL. It is a question of safety. Horses get nervous and behave in unexpected ways. We handled the cancelation correctly and we did give 2 options: to rebook or to be refunded. So it's hard to accept a 1star review based on being well treated and putting safety in front of just get money of someone pockets. This is what we do for a living and we do live from our reputation and nowadays the online one is very important. And it is based on reviews like yours so we kindly ask you to change your rating or write a description that at least justifies that same rating please.

This tour is one of my favorite experiences in all of Portugal! It's a little bit out of the way from Lagos and other larger towns in the Algarve, but that just makes all the more enjoyable! The beach and dunes go on for ages and riding there at sunset is simply magical! The horses are so beautiful and obviously very well cared for. And the guide takes all the pictures for you, so you can really just enjoy the ride and the beautiful scenery around you. 10/10, would recommend!!!

Do not miss out on this excursion! Nelson was amazing. The horses were all clearly well cared for and well fed (I will not go through with anywhere they don’t take care of their horses). The landscape is beautiful! Myself and another rider who are experienced were able to go for a gallop along the beach , my boyfriend who is very much a novice was able to have a small supervised trot and walk. We will be coming to Portugal again and will for sure be booking this again

Planned half my trip around this excursion after seeing reviews of how well looked after the horses are. The system double booked my original ride but they made sure to fit me in and Bea was a great guide! The views are amazing and the horses SO well behaved — so much so that I booked a second ride for my trip!

This was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour so much better, and riding the horses on the beach and through the nature preserve was nothing short of amazing. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves nature or an adventure!

Riding a horse on a picturesque beach was a bucket list item of mine. My husband and I did this for my 49th birthday. Couldn’t have been better. It was simply stunning to soak in the sunset on Bordeira Beach, and with just the two of us and our guide. I don’t even have the words to express how much I enjoyed this. Pure happiness! We had such a wonderful and amazing time. This was the first time me and my partner rode a horse. The horses were well behaved and our tour guide was great. He took some lovely pictures along the way.

A great experience. The staff were laid-back and informal. We did not waste time with too much training and went straight for our trip. The guide even let us gallop both in the forest and on the beach. We watched the sunset from a viewpoint and then galloped on the beach as it disappeared in the horizon.
Would love to take a swim with the horses but unfortunately that was not a part of the itinerary.

Sehr schöne Landschaft und wunderschöne Wege, die beritten werden. Dazu das Meer und der Sonnenuntergang. Leider waren die Pferde etwas unterschiedlich schnell und somit war es meistens unmöglich, zusammenzureiten. Aber unser Guide hat das beste draus gemacht. War eine phenomenale Erfahrung. Dankeschön
