It is beautiful but it can get very choppy.
I was put into a kayak with my two sons 17 and 12 and the kayak submerged mostly so the waves were filling it up with sea water and seaweed.
Inside the cave traffic is intense with lots of kayaks fighting for space and the waves flipped us over. A good experience, beautiful but watch out if you're doing it with small kids
We were a bit late to the tour, but they accommodated us with no problem. The guide was really friendly and helpful.
Excellent tour! Make sure you book earliest possible tour - mostly to get parking before the police close the road in. We arrived at 8:30am and got the very last spot in the lot!
Guide arrived 1hr late (8:30→9:30), tour ended ~10:40 — duration cut ~40min short. Guide spoke mainly Spanish (not all guests understood), rushed ahead, lost a family mid-tour. No intro, apology, or guidance given. Dirty kayaks, no backrests. Requesting full refund.

Unfortunately, sometimes we have delays, because unforeseen events arise, however an apology should have been given. The experience was realised, despite the delay, I hope the tour was worth it
We were late for the booking, but they were very polite and in the end it turned out that we got a private tour! All recommendations, very kind and professional! thanks for the wonderful memories.
To find the place: take the walkway to the bottom left of the carpark, you'll see a building on the beach and you'll find the kayaks there.
Unfortunately the beach was covered in sargassum but Ricardo took the kayaks to the next door beach. We had to climb through a large hole and down a path...made everything feel like an adventure so great fun and cool as....
Ricardo doesn't speak much English but he tried and he is a brilliant photographer so we now have some fabulous photos and memories.
It felt like a small business so only 2 kayaks plus Ricardo but it was way better than being at Benagil beach where it was like a kayak cattle market. (We got an uber there after for €3.50). There were so many kayaks at Benagil beach it made it feel like mayhem.
So, to sum up....Ricardo did everything he could to get the kayaks to the other beach, he was very kind and chilled and we loved it!

Seems really unorganized. It was confusing to figure out where the meeting point was-the directions they give are at the end of the parking lot, but you keep walking and go left to walk down the hill to what seems to be a cafe? Then you have to ask people where the kayak tour is. Our tour guide did not want to be there at all. Seemed to hate his life. Just go to any of the beaches and rent kayaks on your own. The scenery is beautiful, but this is the first time I’ve done one of these kayak tours, and I remembered quickly why I don’t ever do them.
Gonzalo was our guide and he was amazing! Very warm and friendly and made the experience feel intimate. We strongly recommend!
Was a beautiful location and enjoyable, staff were friendly and helpful, however the sea was quite rough so it was quite tough going- particularly for the kids!
It was a super fun experience i had soo muchhh muchh funn really loved itt i would recommend to have this day with your family with thn
Super nice experience, 100% recommend doing it, super beginner friendly, the guide was very nice. You should bring a water proof phone case to take pictures.
Bruce was our guide and he was fabulous. Always trying to add to the experience with his great personality. We got unlucky with very rough waves and though we paddled through, we were unable to do many of the things Bruce was hoping we would. Regardless he made his best effort to make the experience memorable, which it certainly was. Thanks again Bruce
Bruce was very helpful and friendly. Some signs from the car park could be beneficial, but the activity was fantastic, and the caves were very interesting.
Shame about the speedboats everywhere.. for an absolute novice, they were quite intimidating zooming by leaving us bobbing in thier wake!
In all, tremendous value for money and thanks to Bruce for putting us at ease. The group we were with were lovely and very understanding when we constantly bumped into them. 5 ⭐ from us
The guide Bruce was fantastic very funny and very informative.we had a four year old child with us and Bruce interacted with and mad it fun for him as well.
We went and got them see four caves and was also given the chance to swim if we wished.
One of the best parts was when we went ashore on a secluded beach where the views where fantastic.
This was one of the best parts of our holiday to Portugal and would highly recommend using Bruce if you have the chance that doesn't do.
Our kayak tour was unforgettable. Bruce, our guide, was so kind and reassuring, made us feel completely at ease, showed us the beautiful caves including the benagil, and secret beaches - thanks to him, we left feeling confident paddling, although it was our first time.
Our family had a great time, the view was beautiful from kayak. Would definitely recommend. Bruce was our instructor, he was funny and caring!
Excellent! Would highly recommend, Jay was a great guide and the caves and the views are beautiful! Great experience to be able to kayak through the caves!
Though this was a much better price than the other sites the quality of our excursion was top notch thanks to our guide Jay! Super nice and informative and kept us safe! Be advised that you will likely get soaked getting out and back in through the waves at the beach. Just makes it more entertaining!! You also need to be strong enough to paddle in your double kayak though most of it is easy paddling and the kayaks are very stable.
The sea was too rough and really the guide should have cancelled the kayak tour, but it had been cancelled the day before already, so I think he felt under pressure to take people out. We were a group of 8 including two children. It was rough getting in the water but we managed it, but one of our boats was overturned in the cave and it felt dangerous, like an accident waiting to happen. About four of our group were seasick, not the guides fault of course, but it was too rough and the guide should have called it off. Landing the kayaks was really tricky too, we were thrown out by the sea, and several of us got cuts and bruises from the kayaks bashing in to us. We survived it, and it was exciting for some members of the group, but stressful and terrifying for others. My advice would be to trust your gut if the sea is rough. If it looks an bit rough and you see others struggling to launch and land their kayaks, then don’t go out unless you’re experienced and a good swimmer, and don’t take children unless the sea is calm. I would advise paying a bit more for a trip where there are two guides and where they give you helmets. This ended up being too cheap to be safe, although we got away with it by the skin of our teeth. The guide was a lovely guy, clearly strong and experienced, but on his own and with the sea being that rough, there was no way he could make sure we were all safe, and we were a small group of just 8!!
So the situation is this, we had a great time at our kayak tour. Our guide gave us a really nice experience. He was funny and friendly and he made us feel safe all the time. The tour included 4 caves, which were impressive to kayak through. We also got the chance to swim. Thank you Bruce!
You should be able to physically kayak about a mile on the ocean near shore. The experience of seeing the caves and cliffs from on the water was amazing!
To reach the starting point, cross the plaza and descend the stairs on the left hand side. Get an early time if possible as parking is tight. I’d definitely do it again.
Great time! The guide Jay was very knowledgeable and helpful, and gave excellent instructions on kayaking for those who haven't been and had made safety top priority. My wife had even tipped over the kayak, as she has every time we kayaked, and he had immediately come over to help us back in.
Bruce was our guide and we had a great time! We are novice kayakers and we were able to see all the caves within 1.5 hours. Beautiful, fun, and informative.
Was excellent. Not only saw benegil cave but got to kayak into other caves in the area. And the guide , Bruce, was superb
Great experience. Tour guide Bruce was good. Got chance to see few different cakes. We took 9am tour which was a good choice as the sun wasn't strong and it was less crowded.
Our tour was with Bruce. He was so awesome Spoke English very well and was very informative and was very funny as well I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to kayak though the caves. Make sure you get Bruce as your guide.
Good fun. Plenty of great pics and enjoyable kayaking experience. Group size was suitable. The instructor was friendly.
The young lady and young man that did the check in were so lovely and really helpful and so kind, getting my mum a chair to sit on whilst she waited for me to do the kayaking :) Bruce the tour guide was great too, very friendly and made the experience fun. An amazing experience, loved every minute of it. I Would highly recommend
