Itinerary
Start your day off with morning pickup in central Adelaide and climb aboard an air-conditioned coach.
Your tour swings through Adelaide's cultural precinct, where you'll see the North Terrace, Adelaide Botanic Gardens—home to the Adelaide Zoo and Bicentennial Conservatory—and the National Wine Centre. Continue past the tree-lined streets, mansions, and historic buildings of North Adelaide, then stop at St. Peters Cathedral or the Adelaide Oval.
Have the option to disembark at noon on King William Street and make your own way back to the central meeting point by 1pm, or stay on the coach to return to the center. At either location, you'll have time to purchase lunch before the afternoon portion of the tour begins.
At 1:15pm, board the coach to Hahndorf and the Adelaide Hills. Travel to Adelaide’s highest peak, Mt. Lofty, and take in sweeping views of the city and coast. After a stop for photos, continue through the villages of Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate, and Bridgewater. Stop at the Beerenberg Farm Shop for time to taste and purchase some products (own expense) before arriving at Hahndorf.
Spend the afternoon independently exploring the main street of Adelaide’s oldest German settlement. Sample locally made German specialties and produce, check out shops with arts and crafts, and choose between afternoon tea and a traditional German beer tasting at the Hahndorf Inn Hotel.
Your tour ends by returning to central Adelaide in the early evening.

We thought it was one tour but it is actually two separate tours. The city driving tour starts and ends at the bus station. Then the driver goes and does hotel pickup for the Hahndorf tour. There is about 45 minutes between tours to get some lunch at the Central Market or Chinatown nearby. Our driver was Dave and he did a great job providing commentary while driving the bus through narrow city streets and winding mountain roads.

Roger was a great tour guide. The tour showed the best of Adelaide and Hahndorf, a must do for first time visitors.

Good variety. Excellent guide, Roger. Only reservation was that mini bus was too cramped. More space needed.

Started the tour on time and the host has abundance knowledge on Adelaide city as well Hahndorf and shared lot of information about Adelaide city and Hahndorf. Fantastic work by the host. He was kind, humble and knowledge. I will recommend this tour to all. We ended with a nice tea and cake at Hahndorf Inn. Thanks very much and I really enjoyed this tour.

This tour is designed for eldly people with little physical activities. It contains try wo separate tours: the city tour in the morning and the town tour in the afternoon, so people can be different. My driver Peter was good.

We had Mike as our driver/ guide & he was really informative about both the city visit (morning) & the Adelaide Hills (Hahndorf) afternoon. Now looking forward to returning to the places in Adelaide we want to go back to (now knowijg more about them)

Tour guide was very funny and friendly which made the tour not boring. Very informative by sharing so many interesting facts while on tour.

Tour of Adelaide City was very informative. Driver gave good history of the area. Especially enjoyed the visit to St Peters Cathedral. Visit to Hahndorf was excellent as well.

Both the tour of Adelaide and the visit to Hahndorf were interesting and enjoyable. We were fortunate that the timings fitted with the cruise ship timings and we were helped by Colin at Sealink who called our driver Michael to make sure we got onboard the bus at 9.00 am.

Had a really good day and the driver was extremely informative.
We had lots of stops to look around
It's well worth the money

Good City tour.
The Hahndorf promotion coupon of free drink at the Hahndorf Inn is a joke and anti promotion to the place, no service other than long waiting! Terrible!
Linda_R, Mar 2024
Due to our train The Ghan being delayed due to flooding we did not get into Adelaide on time for this tour. However we were able to alter it for a half day tour the following day which was very good
John_G, Mar 2024
This was a really good tour. The guide was excellent, and we had plenty of time to enjoy the stops, and everything was very well organized.

Peter was an excellent tour guide who had a wealth of information about the city of Adelaide, it’s history and culture. He showed us many interesting sights. Lunch was not included but we were close to the Central Market which was a great spot for lunch. We enjoyed the afternoon visit to Hahndorf, cute little tourist town

I like the tour guide. Lots of knowledge and everyone was having fun. I didn’t think the Botanical garden was that good, no time to walk and see around. Except that, there was a charger on the bus so I kept taking photos in beautiful places they took is. Thank you

Phil was very knowedgeable about Adleaide and was very friendly and most helpful.
Weather was overcast and raining at times, but he still put on a good tour.

I loved learning about the history and attractions of Adelaide. This tour allowed me to see all the places I wanted to go back to and more fully explore. And, then we went to Hahndorf for included coffee and dessert. We had enough time to walk independently before heading back to Adelaide. If you like the "overview tour" and then getting a chance to explore further afield, then this tour will suit you perfectly. I give a 100% recommendation.
Robert_S, Feb 2023
Adelaide and Hahndorf are very beautiful cities. It was difficult to understand the tour guide/driver because of a very poor quality audio system on the bus
Marnus_R, Oct 2022
Would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone travelling to Adelaide. We saw everything and more. We really enjoyed our time.

Beautiful sites and a very knowledgeable driver! A great way to see Adelaide and its surrounds - an easy way to see Adelaide!

It was a great journey to Harndorf, great shopping and food. Very comfortable travel and the bus driver was fantastic. Well worth the trip.

Decided to do a tour. The first half was ok. Looked at lots of houses and architecture. Drove around the city and went to Haighs factory which was really good. The church was closed then had lunch. Had to take all our purchases off the bus as the afternoon tour had new people joining. The second part of the tour was great. Went to Mount Lofty and Hahndorf. Loved it. Had cake and coffee at the Hahndorf Inn great little pub. Would only do the second part of the tour again. The first part was disappointing.

All good except but too long at Haige chocolates Michael was very informative with lots of stories and history

Excellent days outing. The city tour guide was very informative with he city history & landmarks. The afternoon trip to Hahndorf was great particularly the lunch provided including the Bavarian deserts available and the free time to explore.. The only downside was the city tour showed a boat in the foreground of the advtg photo & assumed was part of the tour which in fact it wasn't.

A fairly good tour around Adelaide to orientate yourself in the morning and a brilliant afternoon tour to Hahndorf and surrounding area.

Trip was exactly according to the schedule. Very informative. Really enjoyed. Highly recommended and looking forward to book more and more trips with Viator.
Peter M, Jun 2017
We were scheduled to do this tour on Saturday however due to shortage of other patrons the tour was split to Hahndorf Tour on Saturday afternoon and Ultimate Adelaide City on Sunday morning
The Hahndorf reschedule was fine and worked a treat and our guide Marty was very good the reschedule of the Ultimate Adelaide City to Sunday morning was a little disappointing in that the long awaited Haighs Tour was unavailable closed on Sunday the replacement location of the National Wine Centre was underwhelming - we were put and the front door and left to our own devices and fighting a conference crowd for a coffee
Susan S, May 2017
These two tours were excellent. Our tour guide was just awesome with his knowledge of Adelaide. Plus his terrific sense of humor. The history of Adelaide with its building, monuments and parks was great.....as was our trip to Mt Lofty and along to Hahndorf. Highly recommend these tours.
