This tour was fabulous! Alex was a wealth of knowledge and we saw Dolphins within 30 seconds of setting sail. The birds were fabulous and I learned a lot of great information about the local history. Thanks!

The Port River Dolphin Cruise was 90 minutes well spent. Our Captain and host, Alex, has a wealth of knowledge about everything Port River, from the shipping industry and individual history of ships in the grave yard to the breeds and habits of birds in the sanctuary and even the names of the 23 dolphins you may happen to spy. Highly informative and entertaining activity.

Got to see some dolphins and was interesting to learn about the boats in the graveyard. Majority of them originally came from UK and some from America

Very knowledgeable and great experience. I recommend this tour for any level of mobility. Great time
Gilles_G, Mar 2026
The guide on the tour was great and made some modifications because due to speedboat race on the river, we were not able to do the shipwreck portion. He did some extra cruising and spent more time with dolphins.

Lots of fun looking out for dolphins and other sights. The staff Alex and Maya were very friendly and informative.

I was so impressed with this tour! I went in not expecting much but couldn’t believe we actually saw dolphins! I loved that the tour was incredibly eco-conscious, not getting too close to the dolphins and letting them come towards us if they wanted and leaving when it was clear they were feeding so as not to disturb. There was also informative guides to the area as well.

This was a great tour to see wildlife and to hear the history of the port. Lived in South Australia for over 50 years and didn’t know about the ship graveyard.

Great commentary by Alex who was so knowledgeable and such a lovely young man.
We finally managed to see the dolphins too which was wonderful, Alex did go out of his way to seek them out.
Ships graveyard is very interesting, and never have we seen anything like that before, so a whole new experience and memory.

Relaxing and informative boat trip, well worth the money! Many historical areas including the ship graveyard, Pelicans and many other birds in the bird sanctuary and to top it off we saw a small pod of Dolphins. Thanks to the Captain, Alex, for such a great experience.

Great experience! It was great to hear all of the information about the port and see the different ships. Very cool if you are interested in this sort of stuff!
Shaeron_M, Feb 2026
Great trip down the river and back. Our captain was friendly and informative. He knew about all the boats, buildings and even knew some of the dolphins by name.

Very relaxing, great seeing dolphins (3). Great driving and commentary. Friendly crew. Could sit inside or go outside at front or up top
Christine_F, Feb 2026
It was a well commented cruise and with slides which was great. It was in time and all the staff were friendly and efficient. We only saw 2 dolphins (mother and baby) but that does not reflect on the cruise company but we were very happy with the experience.

Wheelchair friendly 😊

Lovely beer in the pub opposite too !

Alex was fantastic. Only issue was it was a little hot inside the boat. Aircon would have been great.
Vivien_D, Feb 2026
Experience was dreadful to pay so much money to have 5 children under 6 run a muck on the boat being so loud wd couldn't hear about the tour not acceptable they should of been told to keep the children quiet
Carina_H, Feb 2026
The tour was informative and relaxed. I really enjoyed it even though we didn’t end up seeing any dolphins but seeing wild animals really is just luck of the draw. Great for older people too or those who just want to sit and relax!
Philip_D, Feb 2026
Had an overseas visitor staying with us and wanted her to experience the dolphins swimming. Sadly, we only had a very brief viewing of 2 dolphins. The cruise itself, the staff and commentary were excellent though.

This river cruise is amazing! Our boat operator was very knowledgeable about the area and history of the various boats that had been sunk in The Port River. We were also very lucky to see a few dolphins on our cruise!
