Sara was a gem. She really bought the whole Jewish quarter alive. Her knowledge is truly insightful. She really explained how passed and present the Jewish community of Rome works. I would tell anyone if they want a real in depth tour of the Jewish Quarter. Sarah is the best guide to have.

This was a wonderful tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide, Sara Terracina. The details Sara was able to give was so interesting and captivating.
Sara was only too happy to answer any questions we had. Sara also does tours to other parts of Italy and if we had of known this, we would have engaged her to do other tours, but this was our last tour in Rome. I would definitely engage Sara next time we are in Rome.

Horrible tour operator.. did not show up at designated spot and then lied she was there. Refused to refund my husband and I $329 we paid for a no-show tour. Additionally, she did not answer any of my messages through Viator app claiming she was not using Viator app for communication. We showed up at meeting spot designated on Viator ticket 10 minutes before the tour time. Asked everyone who walked by if they were the tour leader. People thought we were nuts. There is absolutely no way she was ever there but she keeps lying she was. And Viator refuses to refund if the operator will not. So beware!!!!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Madame, you gave a different phone number when you booked the tour, and you didn't show up at the meeting point, but I was there sharp on time and other clients were there too and the tour did operate. Once I got in contact with you and I told you about the wrong contact information/mobile phone number you told me that it was not my problem because you booked through Viator, then I asked where you were, you told me you went around the buildings and that you asked information to the Holocaust Museum, which was not even included as attraction to visit in the tour you booked. Then you said you went to the Jewish Museum, and also there nobody saw me while I was there giving the tour? I have witness and the video cameras were on. Clients who booked your same tour, on the same day and starting time, who had me as tour guide, attended the tour, loved it, made pictures and made the review. To Viator I gave also the option, after the tour you booked small group tour finished, to take you on the same tour as private, giving you my extra time and free of charge. Well, you are attempting a damage to my professional reputation, while you proved to be who you are by yelling at me in the middle of finding a solution, threatening me on the phone and hang up on me. Frankly, the only person to be aware of is you, you paid for a semi private, small group tour, which requested you to be on time at a meeting point. After the starting time written on the ticket the tour will start and the guide will take care of the clients who arrived on time.

Sara was an excellent guide who explained the history of the Jews of Italy and how they came to be there. She was very knowledgeable about the persecution they lived under for many centuries to the current state of the Jewish Community. Sara Terracina is an outstanding tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and a riveting story teller. She wove personal family anecdote into the history she was explaining, to give us a feel of what it means today .... and what it meant in the past...to be a Jew in Rome. We learned a tremendous amount about the Jews of Rome through the ages, going back to the Roman empire. As an observant Jew, Sara was able to share an insider's perspective on the Jewish community's religious, as well as communal, life. It was worth coming to Rome for this tour alone. I feel enriched for having met Sara.
Lori_S, May 2026
Sara Terracina was our tour guide for Rome’s Jewish Ghetto and The Great Synagogue. She was outstanding! We learned a great deal about the history of the Jews in Rome, and especially their life in the ghetto. Sara was extremely knowledgeable, professional, enthusiastic and interesting. We have taken many many chores over the years and I would say that Sara was the best tour guide we’ve ever had..

Jennifer_S, Mar 2026
Sara is a great tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and gave us a comprehensive tour of the Jewish ghetto, Great Synagogue, and the museum. She gave us the history of Jewish people in Rome from ancient times through present day. I highly recommend taking this tour with Sara!
CherylLackman_F, Mar 2026
Our tour guide, Sara, was INCREDIBLE! Her family has lived in Rome for over 500 years, so her personal knowledge truly enhanced her institutional knowledge about the Great Synagogue, the Museum, and the Rome Jewish Ghetto. The time flew by and our only regret was that we didn't have more time with her. We took other tours in Rome and the tour guides were very good, but none compared to Sara! This was truly the highlight of our trip, and I highly recommend this tour to everyone!
Amy_Y, Mar 2026
We met our guide Sara at the specified outdoor location. It was torrential rain, so we were all running behind that morning (including Sara) but we communicated well via WhatsApp. We walked around the Jewish Ghetto area and she was giving descriptions of buildings and areas but it was a little hard to hear because of the rain. It was also cold and uncomfortable we were soaking wet - it may have been better if we went straight to the indoor portions first, then did the outdoor portions later when the rain let up a bit. We walked around the Jewish museum and heard a lot of interesting info about Judaism in Rome, including that Roman Jews are their own "thing" separate from Ashkenazi and Sephardic, that they all consider themselves Orthodox, and that Libyan Jews are prevalent in Rome. Also that the chapel in the museum is an active synagogue and they use ritual objects from the museum cases themselves for their services! We also got to see the Great Synagogue which was spectacular. Sara was easy to understand and animated and passionate about her subject matter.
Michael_L, Mar 2026
