Great tour! Hits all the highlights

This tour is wonderful!!! Our guide was friendly and VERY knowledgeable. She was able to explain a lot of the significance behind each memorial Hiroshima spot and also answered all our questions. Then when we went to the island we got a full tour of the shrine and two temples. It is a lot of walking so if you are okay with that you will love this tour! We were all able to walk everything with no issues.

Powerful Human Experience

You can read about the Manhattan Project and the atomic bombings, but it doesn’t really hit home how earth shattering the atomic bombings were until you visit Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima. You can debate whether dropping the bombs were justified but what you can’t question after visiting this place is that the atomic bombings were terrible events involving unfathomable loss of life, and we should do everything in our power to ensure such an event never happens again. Our guide, Akie, did a great job and went out of her way to take me to some things I had read about that weren’t necessarily part of the standard tour. If you are an American visiting Japan I would do everything possible to plan a visit Hiroshima to help better understand this tragic event and how it inalterably changed the world.

We saw so much of the area and learned a great deal about the sites from our guide. Our family of 5 participated on this tour on 7/28/26. Our tour guide was Marin. She was an amazing tour guide. She was friendly, enthusiastic, informative and communicated with the group well. We have been on many tours and this tour was extremely well organized from start to finish. We covered a lot of sights in a short amount of time. There was appropriate time spent at all locations. The itinerary was explained at the beginning of the trip. Meeting times and places were clearly communicated. The bus was clean and air conditioned. We would highly recommend this tour especially if you have limited time in Hiroshima or have arrived on a day trip.

Kazuko was an amazing guide with a deep first hand connection to the Hiroshima bombing. Obviously, that portion of the experience was moving and somber, but it was also somewhat uplifting with a spirit of peace. So happy we did this!

We had a blast with Hassan! He has a wealth of knowledge to share. We had very few questions and we ALWAYS have questions! We enjoyed the balance between biking, subway, ferry, and walking, especially on miyajima island. This is a physically challenging trip if you are not used to bicycling or used to being on your feet all day. Bring a back pack, umbrella, water, and snacks. Our included Lunch was okonomiyaki and was very delicious and filling. If you need more though, Miyajima has a ton of places for a quick bite or drink. Just speak up and Hassan will be happy to accomodate!

Our Hiroshima and Miyajima tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan, and much of that was thanks to our outstanding guide, Angeles from Chile. From the moment the tour started, everything ran like clockwork. We departed on time, travelled in comfort, and returned exactly as scheduled—a testament to the excellent organization of the trip. Our adventure began with a pleasant boat ride to Miyajima Island. As soon as we arrived, the first residents to welcome us were the famous deer. Unlike some overly enthusiastic wildlife elsewhere, these deer were charming, polite, and seemed genuinely interested in meeting visitors. It was a delightful and memorable encounter. Angeles then guided us through the history and significance of Miyajima's famous Itsukushima Shrine. She explained the spiritual importance of the shrine, known for its iconic floating torii gate that appears to rise from the sea during high tide. Her storytelling brought centuries of Japanese culture and tradition to life, making the visit far more meaningful than simply admiring a beautiful landmark. One of the many fun moments of the tour was when Angeles taught us the Japanese word "Talaima”. Whether we pronounced it correctly or not is another story entirely, but it certainly added to the cultural experience and gave us all a good laugh. What truly set Angeles apart was her remarkable ability to keep the entire group engaged. She delivered her explanations fluently in both Spanish and English, seamlessly switching between the two languages without missing a beat. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and storytelling skills held the audience in rapt, almost mesmerizing attention. History lessons can sometimes feel like homework in disguise, but Angeles transformed them into captivating stories that everyone wanted to hear. After Miyajima, we continued to Hiroshima, where Angeles provided thoughtful and moving explanations about the Peace Memorial and its symbolism. She carefully explained the historical significance of the monument and the powerful message it conveys about peace, remembrance, and hope for future generations. Her presentation was informative, respectful, and deeply impactful. This tour offered the perfect combination of history, culture, education, and enjoyment. Between the scenic boat ride, the friendly deer, the magnificent shrine, the moving visit to Hiroshima, and Angeles's exceptional guiding, it was an unforgettable experience. Good 2-part tour....

Good 2-part tour. Hiroshima Peace Park was a great place, though it was a little crowded, lots of school children. The Peace Museum has a large permanent exhibition of photos, artefacts and records, maybe take care deciding whether to bring kids here. But for us the real highlight was Miyajima, we would have loved to have spent more time there. Our guide was great, lots of information and interesting stories to share.

This tour had all the sights and sounds and smells anyone would need on that special island and then to come back to Hiroshima City Center for the monuments tour was exceptional. Cesar, our guide, was efficient in his knowledgeable explanations and his guiding of us. Hiroshima and its nearby island will forever be in our hearts and mind's eyes.

A customizable tour that was great for 2 older couples seeing the sights.

We are 2 couples in our 70's. We don't walk fast, we don't hear well, we are not adept at figuring out the buses in a strange town in a foreign language. So - a professional guide is a great help. Added to that is that we get to meet a local person and hear more about the area than we ever would traveling on our own. And the price, compared to a big HAL bus tour, is quite competitive. We went to the garden - which was beautiful - and Kazuko explained the history and significance of the layout (like climbing Mt. Fuji and the survivor tree) - things I might never have known if I were on my own reading the signs. She then walked us to a bus stop with an incomprehensible to me schedule sign, and told us our bus would be there in 10 minutes, and it was. We went to the Atomic Bomb Dome memorial and she walked us around there. She found a great place for the old folks (us) to rest and get some ice cream. She then led us through the museum, having prepped us about 3 special exhibits she highlighted. The museum had a bigger crush of people than we are used to, it was worse than visiting the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. Kazuko guided us through the crush and showed us some key exhibits, and got us out of there in one piece. She was great. She got us into a cab headed back to the correct dock for our ship. It made for a perfect day for us. I'm sure younger folks could cover more ground. The tour can be customized to fit the fitness and ambition level of the group you are with.
