What are people saying about Hakone

Hakone Overview
It was a great overview of different sites in Hakone. Our guide Yumiko-san took us to a local restaurant for lunch that had really good authentic feel. The other sites also were not too touristy and was very relaxing.
I love that we got to experience a tea ceremony in Gora Park one last time before leaving Japan. It was a long day but really maximized the sightseeing.

Best Hakone Private Tour. Maximize your time with this tour.
Our guide Kumi was personable, thoughtful and very accommodating. She set the agenda based on our interests and the tour has been a highlight of our visit in Japan. Kumi arrived at our hotel on time. We set off to the volcano and other places to catch Mt Fuji. We travelled to the lakeside, then visited shrines, Japanese gardens, koi ponds, waterfalls and even hit up a 400 year old sweet sake hut to try the local beverages. Without her knowledge of the surrounding areas in Hakone, we would have never been able to find the locations. The minivan was clean, comfortable and we felt safe at all times driving up and down the mountain. Great tour! Thank you so much

A Must!
We had a beautiful day with our guide, Hiro, who was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Japan. It was interesting to learn about the Japanese customs and the significance of th temples and shrines. Hiro also had the experience to know all of the ins and outs of navigating the areas to avoid the crowds. It was an unforgettable and beautiful tour.

Enjoy Hakone - we did!
All in all, a great day out, doing things you probably could do yourself but it takes any stress out of the day having all planned out in a logical and timely fashion. Tatsu was a great guide - no information overload, just enthusiastic detail and explanation of Japanese culture and traditions. The tour was conducted at a pace we were comfortable with and yes, I guess we were lucky wirh the weather but a second perfect day of Mount Fuji views, enjoying the Ashinoko Lake cruise and Odawara steaming Volcano landscape in between the Peace Torii Gate & Shrine and lastly the Gora gardens. Ideally you aditionally need the Hakone freepass, which we purhased at the start of the day.

We moved through the Hakone Loop easily with Hina!
We chose to do a private tour as we only had one full day in Hakone and read about the long lines along the Hakone loop. We are very glad we did this as our guide Hina knew all the best ways to get us through so even though it was a high traffic time, we made it through all the main sites in one day. Hina had excellent communication - she was very responsive by text and helped us each step of the way knowing where to get ticket upgrades and which lines to stand in. When we did have to wait in line, she was able to share information about the site and answer our questions. She knew all the places to take great photos and sent us beautiful photos she had taken of us with her camera. And she knew where to find local artwork at the gift shops. Thank you Hina for making our brief time in Hakone maximally enjoyable!

箱根で和紙!伝統文化体験!
English Review
This was one of the most meaningful experiences during our time in Hakone.
The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, allowing us to truly focus on the traditional art of Japanese papermaking.
The instructor was kind, patient, and explained each step clearly, making it easy even for beginners.
Creating my own handmade washi paper was a special moment and a wonderful memory to take home.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic and peaceful cultural activity in Hakone.

The scenic mountain town of Hakone is known for its hot springs resorts and excellent views of Mt. Fuji’s snow-capped peak, and some Hakone tours include a traditional onsen experience. You can also take guided forest bathing walks, visit the town’s open-air art museum, attend a tea ceremony to learn more about the culture of tea, explore Hakone’s botanical garden, or go on a boat ride on Lake Ashi to see the bright red torii gate that marks the entrance to a Shinto shrine.
