- The Washington Monument requires all guests to go through physical security screening to access the monument. The security line normally takes around 15-30 minutes but can be even longer on major holidays.
- The Washington Monument operates in rain or shine.
- The inside of the monument does not allow smoking, vaporizers, e-cigarettes, food and drink (except water in clear bottles), large bags, or weapons.
- The Monument is wheelchair accessible
- Strollers are not permitted inside the Monument. You must leave the stroller in the designated, unattended parking area outside, often near the entrance or along the side of the building.
- No Animals, except Service Animals
- Minors (17 or under) must be accompanied by an adult (18+)
- The Washington Monument is a self-guided experience
- If you book the option with the guided walking tour, your entry time to the monument will be for a time after the end of your tour.

Never received the tickets they were supposed to send over to National Park service. They sent me a voucher but that is NOT the ticket to get in. NPS person said they do this all the time.

Communication was AWFUL. I never got an email as they stated with my tickets, so was panicking the night before. Was also confused about the small group walking tour - wasn't clear if I had purchased but said it was included, but not separate time was communicated. Tried to call the company (not Viator) twice and the rep (who barely spoke English) just kept saying to show up and then twice hung up on us!! Finally was able to just keep clicking around in my account and somehow, thankfully came across our QR code tickets. In the end, the monument was fantastic and we enjoyed our visit, but leading up to the communication was just awful and very confusing.

Make sure u have the qr code before u arrive. U need to load it on your phone Also the free guide book that i was promised when i booked these tickets was a no show. I asked several people and received a shoulder shrug

Rotunda is crowded, people are pushy,and rules are very strict (for good reason) the other exhibits were fun and we loved the interactive part of the museum

The ticket process was too fragmented and unnerving because it left too much information to the end and depending on one calling a Viator agent to actually have the ticket sent and the meeting place clarified. Also, there was no "Self-guidebook" at all, via link or otherwise. Finally, none of the Viator "help" links worked. I did not like this process at all!

My grandchildren, aged 11 and 13 picked this activity. They loved it. The rangers were courteous and friendly. They allowed us plenty of time to take photos. Well worth the small fee.

Really enjoyed the experience of going to the top of the Washington monument, incredible views and interesting exhibition. My only complaint is that the $1 dollar tickets must be bought up by the operators so you end up having to book through Viator and paying $15 each. As they buy them up before you can book online. This is a shame.

Getting there early was perfect. The park rangers were great, very organized and knowledgeable. Answered a lot of questions and provided additional history information. The views were amazing and we were lucky it was a clear, sunny day.

Was very simple and seamless just wish cost was less..they are free thru Washington Monument website but they go fast. So i did appreciate this other avenue to get tickets but maybe only charge $10/ea since were originally free.

Viator sent me bar codes for their “passes” once I received them I was required to complete More steps to receive additional bar codes. The second set of bar codes are the ACTUAL tickets to enter the Washington Memorial . The National Parks Rangers were absolutely wonderful. They assisted me with calling viator and having them email me the correct bar codes. I checked ALL my emails and texts and had NOT received them. They tried to blame me.
In the end they sent them to me, and we got in.

We were sold tickets and did receive them the night before but every person in our line had the same ticket number and QR code. The ranger showed us that the ticket had already been used. So these may be photoshopped or it was one ticket that was sold to everyone in line!!!

Each ticket issued has a unique barcode, and your individual barcode was sent to you by email prior to your visit. The Viator confirmation number is not a valid entry ticket and cannot be used for scanning at the entrance.
If multiple guests were presenting the same code, it is likely that the incorrect document (such as the booking confirmation) was used instead of the actual ticket with the unique barcode. Please make sure to open the email containing your tickets and present the correct barcode for entry.
