Great tour!! Our guide was knowledgeable, kept a great pace, and we were able to see everything notable at the Vatican. The balance between the guided part and the ability to explore on our own a bit was perfect. We visited the Vatican Museum, the gardens, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica and Square. Highly recommend!

  • ID and Ticket Accuracy Requirements: A valid government-issued photo ID is required at entry, and it must match the name on your booking. Different tickets apply to adults and minors, so please ensure accurate selection during booking.
  • Strict Timed Entry and Late Arrival Policy: Entry to the Vatican Museums is strictly timed. Late arrivals may not be admitted and refunds will not be provided in such cases.
  • Skip-the-Line Entry and Security Screening: You can skip the ticket line, but all visitors must pass through mandatory security checks. Please allow extra time, especially during peak hours or religious events.
  • Dress Code for Vatican Entry: A strict dress code is enforced. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Sleeveless tops, shorts above the knee, miniskirts, and low-cut garments are not permitted. Entry may be denied for non-compliance.
  • Prohibited Items at Entry: Weapons, glass items, sharp objects, food, and alcohol are not allowed inside any Vatican site for security reasons.
  • Self-Guided Basilica Visit for Late Tours: For tours starting at 3:00 PM or later, the visit to St. Peter’s Basilica will be self-guided due to limited access hours for guided tours.
  • Basilica and Sistine Chapel Closures and Access Restrictions: St. Peter’s Basilica is closed on Wednesday mornings (8 AM–12 PM), and on December 24 and 31. Access to the Basilica and the Sistine Chapel may also be restricted without notice due to religious ceremonies or events, such as Jubilee Masses or Sede Vacante (papal transition). In cases of closure, your guide will extend time inside the Vatican Museums. No refunds or partial reimbursements are issued.
  • Baby strollers are not permitted inside, even if they are foldable. Please plan accordingly.
  • Not recommended for individuals with mobility limitations
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 20 travelers

The Sistine Chapel was great, and Saint Peter's Basilica was AWESOME! Be prepared to walk quite a bit, but the experience is totally worth it.

Truly terrible

Far too much time spent on pieces in parts of the museums, not the Sistine Chapel nor St Peter’s. Example, 25 minutes spent on 3 statues alone…that were not even the originals. Also, we purchased tickets that included the Basilica yet that was not publicly available that morning; so the Raphael rooms were offered instead. Hardly any comparison and a partial refund should have been offered in lieu of the guided Basilica purchased. Additionally, no further guidance on how to reach the Basilica (once it was re opened) same day, was given….so we ended up outside the Vatican walls after viewing the Sistine Chapel. Huge letdown. Way too much talking and not nearly enough time on pertinent areas.

Tour guide spoiled the experience

Our guide , Leti, although had good information, walked so fast that we had a hard time keeping up with her. Often she got out of our radio range and we weren’t exactly sure where to go. We felt she was a little snippy with us, for not staying up with her, but there were so many people and groups that it was impossible. This was the one tour I really wanted to do in Rome and the experience just really spoiled it for me.

Art and history!!

Our guide was absolutely amazing!!! She (Diana) was beyond knowledgeable and even cared enough to try and chase down a member of our group who decided to not listen to directions and exit prematurely. She had a great understanding of the crowds and knew when and where to go into greater detail about the things we were seeing. The crowd was intense and unexpected (early morning and not high season). There were areas we could not stop to enjoy the artworks but that was obviously not the fault of our guide. You cannot miss the Sistine Chapel and this was a great tour and guide. Just be prepared for crazy crowds.

Great tour with Dionna

Dionna was fabulous! She was extremely knowledgeable about EVERYTHING Vatican. It is a skip the line tour (except security - about 20 min) but there were so many people, so it was a lot of start and stopping on your feet - but a must see if you love church and history.

Well worth the extra money as skipping the queue meant not queuing for hours! Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly. She made the experience memorable. We had time to look around St Peter’s by ourselves at the end of the tour.

This was very long tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. This tour gives you the highlights of the area but I felt lacked the more in depth discussion of certain paintings and architecture of the Vatican. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and very knowledgeable! We found it hard to hear Deonna and I’m not sure if it was her accent or the earpiece. We were all having trouble with the earpiece not staying on our ears and that she wasn’t holding the mic close enough.

Vatican, Basilica and Sistine chapel

I definitely recommend getting the pass the line ticket with this group. I did the Vatican Museum, Basilica, and the Sistine chapel. You get to see so much more, hear the history, and get in past all the crowds. At the end we were free then to wander around or do more. I had the amazing experience of being just in time to attend mass there.
