Pompeii is huge and it is impossible to see it all in a couple hours. It is still an active archeological site. Our guide Marcello was incredible. An archeologist/anthropology professor. He gave us a marvelous tour and was so informative. He chose some major highlights and a few new discoveries. Answered questions and just gave us a marvelous experience.

Fantastic first experience at Pompeii

We booked this tour for the morning of our cruise stop in Napoli. We were lucky enough to have Mario as our guide and driver, pulling double-duty. The van was brand new and very nice. Mario was gracious in waiting when our ship arrival was later than initially planned and went over the top to communicate about where to find him when we got out of the terminal. The communication was top notch and much appreciated. Beyond that, he was extremely knowledgeable, but also very easy to follow. It was chock full of information, but never overly academic. Mario is passionate about the subject and it shows. Pompeii is much larger than we realized, so it would have been overwhelming without an expert to guide us. If we ever make it back to Napoli, we will be sure to use Mario for another tour.
