Great tour guide, tight...

Great tour guide, tight time limits. Our tour guide Ignacio was THE BEST we have ever had. He had physical maps marked with colored in pathways based on sights/experiences handed to us and a what’s app group to join for announcements from him along with pinned map locations for Google Maps. So organized. The bummer was we only booked Florence to have more time there and not enough people chose that so they cancelled but offered the Florence/pisa combo to us at no extra charge. We didn’t have much other options so we said yes. Pisa took needed time from Florence. Florence was very rushed and we wish we had the wiggle room that 1.5 hours of time in Pisa and boarding buses took from us. But what can you do with 1 day on a cruise? Ignacio is fantastic and he did a GREAT job.

We were able to hit our spots, Pisa tower entry and Florence timed ticket to Uffizi and Academia on time. The drive was quick, efficient, and he navigated the narrow crowded streets of Florence expertly to get us as close as possible to where we need to go. Highly recommend Francesco!

Surreal Experience

The pick up spot for the tour was exactly where it was posted. The young lady who was our tour, I think her name was Regina, was a little difficult to understand at times, but she was able to corral a lot of people onto and off the bus at Pisa, and to the site. Pictures don’t match the lean of the tower. In person it seems to lean more. What a sight. Our tour included climbing the tower, which was slightly strenuous. The stairs are wide marble but it’s worn down and looks slippery. I didn’t see anyone slip, though. It is a strange thing climbing stairs with and against the lean. After reaching the platform there is a smaller winding staircase with little room and it was a challenge. But reaching the top was quite an experience. Like I said, our guide was young and while she didn’t quite match the level of guides I’ve had on other excursions, I think with experience she will be an excellent guide. She has some of the humor and passion needed. I thought she did a great job in pacing as we had some very old people on the tour.

Great Value and lovely destinations

This was a cruise shore excursion. Meet up in Livorno was well organized and easy. Small group on nice bus. Pisa and Lucca are not far from Livorno so travel time was pleasantly limited on this outing. Pisa was so beautiful, much better than I expected...a Tourist spot yes, but so worth it! Doesnt need a long visit if you just want to walk the area. This tour is too short for climbing the Tower, FYI. Lucca was a wonderful , unique town. Walk the wall and relax! George, our guide had lots of helpful advice for this "self guided tour", provided very good walking maps, and excellent communication for our meet ups. But actually guided us quite a bit sharing a lot of knowledge about both towns! This was one of the best value tours I've taken and also a more laid back one!

Professional and courteous

Gabrielle was prompt, knowledgeable about the area, and ver accommodating. I got sick through the winding roads and he was so kind and helpful. His van was immaculate. He even made an exception for us to be able to stay longer in Florence than initially contracted for extra Euro. This enabled us to keep out tickets to the Uffizi and explore the city a bit more.

A wonderful experience...

A wonderful experience and great tour! This tour provides great insight into Lucca, a great town, wine tasting at a small family winery and a brief visit to Pisa. A day to remember 😍

Amazing Tour for Cruise passengers

If you are looking for a way to see the most beautiful parts of Tuscany from a cruise, this is the perfect tour for you. We were picked up right at the ship by Mario, in a beautiful Mercedes. Mario was one of the kindest people we have met while traveling. He grew up in Florence and knows the Tuscany area inside and out! He gave us such wonderful information about the area, and about himself growing up there. We loved hearing all of his knowledge of how things have changed over the years. We visited Sienna, and because it was private, we chose how long we wanted to stay. We stopped at a small, family run winery for lunch and wine tasting. It was absolutely delightful. Our next stop was San Girognano. What an amazing little town. Again, Mario told us to spend as much time as we needed. He was such a wonderful guide. He then drove us back to our ship, and we visited and chatted the entire way. All in all is was one of our favorite days on our cruise, mostly because Mario made it perfect for us!

Magical, Memorable day!

We spent the day exploring Tuscany with Valerio. He picked us up right at the port in a large and comfortable van. We spent a little time in Pisa with the crowds and then we did not see another tourist the rest of the day. We visited beautiful small town with a fortress with a wonderful view of the famous Tuscan countryside. Then the pinnacle was a visit to a small family winery and olive oil farm. It was a beautiful setting, a wonderful multi-course lunch from Maria Teresa, who adjusted very quickly to accommodate my complicated food allergies, and a very generous and delicious wine tasting. If you are thinking it seems that the extra 55 euros for lunch seems too much, I promise, you will walk away confident this was a day and money well spent. Valerio was a kind, informed, and curious guide. Yesterday I fulfilled a lifelong dream to visit Florence and Michelangelo’s David moved me to tears. Today was even better. Don’t second guess, book it! Thank you for an unforgettable day Valerio and Maria Teresa!

Great itinerary with some customization in Tuscany!

One day in Florence/Tuscany is just not enough... but it was a great experience that has us craving to go back and spent some more time. Our guide/driver, Simone, was wonderful! We asked in advance to adjust the itinerary, since it was our anniversary and we wanted to do something a little special. We were able to add a stop at a vineyard in Tuscany for a wine tasting! During our first stop, in Pisa, Simone began messaging vineyards to verify availability and set the timing we wanted. We drove through Tuscany and he took several pictures of us at a viewpoint on the way to the vineyard. The experience at the vineyard was exquisite, including 7 wines and bread/olive oil for 40E per person. Florence is of course breathtaking, and while it was very hot, the weather was beautiful. We stopped at Piazza Michelangelo and had a few hours to walk around the city center, including the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, and a delicious Italian lunch with spritzes.
