Great Hike day trip from Rovaniemi

This was an excellent tour. We went in early April and the waterfalls were still frozen. The going could be a bit icy and slippery but it was worth it. We were picked up from our hotel at 825am as part of a small group. We were at the office at 9am and fitted for overalls and crampons. It was about 90 minutes drive to the park. The hike was about 3 miles, a lot of hills up and down, but very good. The scenery was beautiful and the guide knowledgeable. About 4/5 of the way through the hike we stopped to grill hot dogs at a fun barbecue spot. We were back at our hotel around 430pm.

Loved that White Winter Lapland is a working, non-touristy farm that lets their reindeer live as they wish without forcing them to do anything (even the walk), and that the family works the farm themselves and were happy to share nuggets on reindeer herding and life in Lapland with us. Exceptional Norther Lights Hunt!

Had a fantastic time with Max and Mika last night hunting for the Northern Lights. It was a very clear night and the Auroras were predicted to come out so it was a pretty easy trip. But what I appreciated from Max was he always kept us updated as to what exactly we were doing, how long it would take us to get to his secret spot and when we stopped and reversed, he explained why his secret spot wasn’t too appropriate for us (snow was too thick). Instead we drove a few miles further to a desolate high road with a clear view of the skies and set up camp. Within minutes we saw faint lights which blossomed into huge Auroras that filled the sky and some that were right on top of us. Milka and Max were right there with their cameras constantly offering to take photos (sometimes multiple) to capture the moment. We stayed for over an hour until the lights faded then we headed back with Max and Milka handing out warm apple cider and cookies. I’ve hunted the Lights in Iceland previously with a little success. A lot of the trip really depends on Mother Nature and the Sun giving off its flares. But what made this trip nice was Max and Milka’s friendly manner, professionalism and smiling faces. I know they must do several trips a week but they made us feel like this trip was special. They are true representatives of the welcoming Finnish culture and I really enjoyed my night out. A few things that were confusing…Apple Maps gave a different location of the office. Luckily, I took an Uber and he dropped me off at the right office. It is crowded with multiple buses leaving at the same time but that’s a bit of a good thing as you can definitely find the office easily.

Our snowmobile experience today was amazing, one of the best things I've ever done in my life! Our guide Nacho was so passionate, professional and helpful. Incredible Husky Ride

This husky safari was an amazing experience from beginning to end! Our guide, Mika, was fantastic—he arrived right on time for pickup and made sure we were perfectly prepared by providing warm winter overalls. The ride itself was incredible and the highlight of our trip. One of the best parts was getting plenty of time after the sledding to hug and pet the huskies; they are so friendly and well-cared for. A fantastic experience! Matyas was on time to collect us from our accommodation in excellent transportation. We were greeted with a chocolate which was nice. Was a short journey to Santa Claus village from where we were staying. We got to meet Santa and purchased photos and videos aswell as bits in the gift shop. We wrote a letter to Santa and posted it and sent a gift card home! We loved meeting the husky’s and the husky ride was amazing! Exhilarating! The reindeer ride was amazing too but much more peaceful and chilled! Really appreciated Matyus he was friendly thoughtful and knowledgeable and we got everything we wanted to done on this trip!
