What are people saying about Oaxaca

A Lesson in History
It's breathtakingly beautiful. We got so lucky because our guide turned out to be an archeologist who worked at Monte Alban and other surrounding archeological sights. We wouldn't have known either, if it wasn't for one of the other guides who pointed it out. The visit was informative and it didn't feel rushed. I felt like I was able to truly take in what we were being told with plenty of opportunities for questions.

The ONLY Mezcal tour you should book.
I did this tour at the start of day of the dead in Oaxaca. So the group was large. And not for one second did this tour drop below a 4.9/5 rating was the experience I had. The main tour guide, I forget his name, from Oaxaca with family roots in the industry (from memory) but with a Californian accent, is AMAZING! Probably one of the best tour guides on the planet. Charismatic, extremely knowledgeable, completely engaging with his tour. Always checking there are no left unheard questions. Coached us through the entire experience seamlessly. We had endless amounts of tastings of the most amazing top tier Mezcal. And learnt everything there is to know. It was extremely welcoming and probably one of the best tours Ive been on in my life. And Ive travelled ALOT! Ive already told a out 10 new friend visiting Oaxaca, they HAVE to go on this tour. It’s a must.

I had a wonderful time...
I had a wonderful time cooking with Chef Adhey in her home and learning about some of the Oaxacan traditions! All of the food was delicious, the experience was informative and a lot of fun. Chef Adhey and her family were very warm and inviting. I’m looking forward to recreating some of the dishes at home to the best of my abilities! I’d highly recommend this class to anyone looking for an authentic Oaxacan food experience

Plan for a very long full...
Plan for a very long full day for this event. Herve el Agua is very beautiful in a serene setting with stunning views out across the valley. The hike can be challenging because of the steep descent (~1,000 stairs) but the way to the bottom of the formation is on secure steps and paths that are manageable. The cool mineral pools are very refreshing to swim on your return. Our guide was so knowledgeable and had very many cultural and archaeological insights.

Many travelers agree that if you only have time to visit one place in Mexico, it should be Oaxaca. The state has some of the country’s most iconic food—from its seven types of mole to flaky tlayudas (stuffed tortillas)—plus inspiring natural beauty and colorful architecture. Oaxaca tours let you explore like an expert, whether tasting street food in Oaxaca City or discovering the Monte Albán ruins. You can also learn to make mezcal on a plantation, marvel at a petrified waterfall, or head to the coast for surfing lessons.
