Interesting details, decently paced, Horatio knows the inside on this place. My advise if your feet are tired already, skip the fortress. Not really worth it. But definitely DO NOT skip the Nasrid Palace or the palace gardens.

A Worthwhile Tour

This was a three hour tour of Alhambra and the Generalife (Gardens). Our tour guide was extraordinarily knowledgeable, and was a graduate archaeologist. Although the tour was expensive, we felt it was worth it. We got a lot more of the history and archeological details of how the various fortresses and palaces, as well as mosques/churches came to be than we would ever have gotten on our own.

Alhambra tour: two thumbs up!

I can’t imagine touring the Alhambra complex without a guide. Our guide IEtana (sp?) was excellent. The pace was steady, but comfortable and we learned a ton without being overwhelmed by all of the information. When I signed up for this tour, I thought it was restricted to about eight participants. We were lucky that our group only had 10, as apparently six others dropped out. For the price, I would have been annoyed with a larger group, but our 10 person tour worked well.
