What are people saying about Toledo

Sonia was super...
Sonia was super knowledgeable and personable during the tour. She answered all our questions and told us so much about the history and about how this reflects on present-day Spanish society and culture. She made sure my mother, who has some trouble walking, felt safe on the cobblestone streets and had ample time to rest.

Best tour of Toledo
Our guided tour with Valle, was exceptional. She had such a depth of knowledge of Toledo and history, in general. She was extremely flexible in allowing us to choose what to see and adapted the tour and the route to give us the maximum time in each location. Valle was so easy to talk with - she felt like an old friend within minutes of meeting with us. This was one of the best parts of our 2 month tour of Spain and Italy. Highly, highly recommend.

Great Experiance
We had an absolutely outstanding experience in Toledo, and so much of that was thanks to our incredible guide. From the very beginning, their passion for the city was clear—not just in the depth of their knowledge, but in the way they brought Toledo’s history, culture, and stories vividly to life.
They struck the perfect balance between informative and engaging, sharing fascinating details without ever feeling overwhelming. Every stop felt meaningful, and we came away with a real understanding of how Toledo’s diverse influences have shaped it into such a unique place.
What truly set this tour apart was the personal touch. Our guide was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had a great experience. They were happy to answer questions, adapt the pace when needed, and even offered thoughtful recommendations for the rest of our stay.
If you’re visiting Toledo, I can’t recommend this experience highly enough. A great guide can make all the difference—and this was one of those rare cases where everything exceeded expectations.

Great experience! The...
Great experience! The canyon is breathtaking! Would have liked more time to shop and explore the little town around the swinging bridge. Other than that, it was great! We enjoyed our interaction with the driver. He shared lots of history and funny stories.

Toledo walking tour
Tour was fantastic, we actually were delayed coming from Madrid and they allowed us to join a later tour since we missed our initial reservation.*Note- buy train tickets from Madrid to Toledo in advance. Tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and could have told us much more had the tour been longer. Passionate about Toledo and its important history. He also gave us tips on where to eat in less touristy area. Thank you!

Fascinating mix of cultures & some magnificent art by Spanish masters
Moors, Jews & Christians all in one place but not at the same time. The architecture is so intermixed. A sometimes surprising & fascinating 3 hour tour with Ana as my guide & Carlos as my driver. Having a driver cuts down on the walking. There is wonderful Spanish art. There are cardinals hats hanging over tombs. & a Star of David in a stained glass window. The synagogue is not closed on the Sabath as far as I could tell but the churches are closed during services so check first if you plan a tour on Sunday.
I paid 3 entry fees for a total of 20€.

Great experience
The walking tour we took was a wonderful introduction to the city from an exterior perspective from our arrival viewing the three gates then the intertwining into the city center hitting all the highlights and historic sites. We felt like we on local walk with an experienced guide as we were able to navigate the right city streets and crowded squares with ease. The Jewish quarter was our purpose to why we had the tour the city and we walked the Jewish quarter and received a great historical account of the religious interactions and how it’s affected modern day residents.
Overall a great experience

Excellent tour , Sarah, our guide was wonderful!
This was an excellent tour. Sarah was very friendly and open to questions; the tour gave us a well organized walk around so many of the sites including very informative look at the inside of the cathedral - which is massive. She had lots of interesting stories and pieces of history that made Toledo’s complicated life by history come alive and not be boring.
As we walked she shared tidbits and practical suggestions of how we might further check out places , museums, churches etc on our own time if we were staying in the city a few days. Our small group of 5 had lots of questions about current situations and family life etc. which she was very helpful in giving us insights as she has grown up in Toledo in multi-cultural family. We really appreciated her suggestions of identifying authentic restaurant experiences and avoiding tourist trap packaged food. Her English was excellent; the pace of the tour was very comfortable- and we were a mixed group of people from 20- 40’s to 70’s. One family was on the tour being in Toledo on a day trip excursion and my husband and I were here in Toledo for 5 nights- and Sarah helped us each sort out priorities for follow-up whether to the train station or walks, dining, and sightseeing.
We are used to traveling in our own, but having a professional guide like Sarah is invaluable in getting to understand more of what one is seeing. We would highly recommend Sarah who owns her own travel guide site as offered through Viator.

Kauai Cruise Ship Shore Excursion Journey to Waimea Canyon
This excursion on the island of Kaua'i was booked through Viator with Roberts Hawaii Tours. While the large bus was the most modern we were on during our time in Hawaii, and the driver/guide and tour itself were excellent, the meeting instructions given in advance left much to be desired. We were only given the time and an address for the pickup point. We left the ship as soon as we were allowed, after it docked, so we could figure out where the meeting point was, with little luck. Finally I phoned the number provided to get details. Somehow, Roberts Hawaii had been told that the ship would dock an hour later; so pickup would be an hour later. And, the description given to me of whom we were to look for was a bit vague. But, we did eventually connect. Our driver was courteous and very knowledgeable. We first stopped at the Hanapepe Valley Lookout, then at the Spouting Horn blowhole to see the water shooting into the air from the lava tube. We drove up the winding road to the Waimea Canyon State Park Lookout area. It was extremely windy and chilly this particular day, but it was definitely worth the climb and look! Mark Twain called this the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific". While it isn't as massive as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, it is breathtaking and beautiful. We could see a beautiful waterfall across the canyon from the lookout. In the winter, the colors of the canyon are more easily seen as there is less vegetation interfering with views; so we could see reds, browns and greens in the layers.

Shaka Guide app is a must!
Great app to use for becoing familiar with the area we were visiting, Kauai. I plan to use this app again when visiting new areas.. Very informative. A must for travelers who want to visit important sites and become familiar with the history of the area.
I am not technically savy and initially had difficulty using this app that resulted in me contacting the vendor for additional assistance but will definitely purchase this app, Shaka Guide, when visiting new locations where it is available.
