The Alhambra is a MUST see when going to Granada and Spain. It’s truly a wonder! Wouldn’t you go see Stonehenge if you were in England? First, the tickets were very pricey ($480 USD for 2 people). Secondly, be sure to enter your passport information AND bring it with you or your government issued ID. You won’t be allowed on the tour without it. It’s in the directions but NOT emphasized enough! Also, give yourself plenty of time to get to the meeting point. The bus trams are very full and you could easily not be allowed on one. A taxi might be best option honestly. They are plentiful and cheap! Our tour guide, Paula, was knowledgeable and friendly. No difficulty understanding her presentation even though English is not her native language. It is a 3 hour tour with a nice 20 minute rest break in the middle. Refreshments and Bathrooms are available. You will move at a steady pace—not a lot of lingering, but still enjoyable. There’s a lot of ground to cover! Our tour ended at 8:00pm. Bus/Tram service was over crowded-lots of people had to wait for the next bus. Taxis not readily available as they were earlier in the day. They will arrive quickly when called by phone though. We decided to just walk back to town. Glad we went, tour was good but wish price was lower. I totally get supply and demand, but this seems like a “fleecing”. If you can buy Alhambra tickets directly several months before your trip so you aren’t at the mercy of having to buy marked up experiences from 3rd party vendors.

We were in the 9am English premium small group tour w ten people. Our guide Juanjo was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and shared jokes and interesting history about La Alhambra and palaces and amazing generalife gardens. The process moving between sites and pace was perfect. Upon completion approximately 3 hours, you can choose to stay on your own. Note that you must keep your tickets they hand out at the beginning and have your ID as there are checkpoints between the 3 parts. It’s a huge complex but most of the walking is level once you’re up top. We took a taxi for about $6 from town but took the c32 bus back down for 1,60€. Very easy process. Recommend using the bus as the taxi line up top was long/long wait so we bailed and hopped on the little red bus which you can pay the driver w credit card as you board. The bus was not crowded at all.
Overall would highly recommend this experience. It’s a little pricey but it was well worth with as we got so much more out of it with a guide and didn’t have to wait in any lines despite it being busy. As we left around 1 it was getting even more crowded with school groups and big tours. Try to do morning if your schedule allows.

First and last let me say that Georgia our guide was absolutely amazing. There was nothing we could ask that was beyond her knowledge base. The company though clearly has something to learn about customer service. They changed the start time with no notice on the Viator app which led to a frantic 20 min running around at the Alhambra assuming we missed the tour. WhatsApp is good notification for some but certainly not all. 2 parties in our group missed a significant part of the tour because of the last minute time change and conflicting plans. We’ve done many Viator tours and this is only one where things were so unorganized. Beware.

My husband and I really enjoyed this experience. We spent 2 weeks traveling around Spain, seeing Paella and hearing how Valencia was the place for true Paella. This was a fun, informative and delicious way to learn about it. It started with Sangria, ham and chips while Mark, our chef, told us the history of Paella. He was great. Then we started peeling, chopping and mixing our food. Everyone had a chance to do something if they wanted to. When everything was finished cooking, we sat down to wine, omelette, Paella and sponge cake. Delicious! Highly recommend.

There is no way I could’ve appreciated even a fraction of what I saw at the Alhambra without a good tour guide. Antonio was an amazingly knowledgeable and engaging guide. He made sense of centuries of history, and communicated his deep respect for everything he showed to us. It was a wonderful tour.

That the guide doesn’t meet you at the meeting point and that the guides name and contact information is not provided so you have to call a robot to get someone to tell you that there is a person with a white umbrella standing in the wrong place. As well, the tickets provide for the entrance to the Alacazar where provide for two people at two different times. Couple that with ‘demand’ pricing and this is a ripoff. We couldn’t track down the guide as well and the person that gave us our tickets told us that we were late (we were early by ten minutes) so that do not rise to the level of service that we had paid for.

The Alhambra is well worth visiting. The tour was informative. It was a bit fast moving for my taste. A bit rushed at times. A lot to cover in 3 hours, I suppose. But friendly guide who answered questions and the tour was lovely.

This was a three hour tour of Alhambra and the Generalife (Gardens). Our tour guide was extraordinarily knowledgeable, and was a graduate archaeologist. Although the tour was expensive, we felt it was worth it. We got a lot more of the history and archeological details of how the various fortresses and palaces, as well as mosques/churches came to be than we would ever have gotten on our own.

The booking says small group (10 people) but the company put 30 on the tour. The guide was great but she even admitted it was ridiculous and they do it all the time. But she said I can get refunded by reaching out. If that happens I will chnage this review.

This is the highlight of Granada. You haven’t seen much if not Alhambra. You can see the town surrounding it and the Flamenco show at Sacramento. Our guide Carlos was patient, knowledgable and thorough. A 5-star to him as well.

This is a fabulous attraction. Ensure you book early enough to get the Nasrid Palaces as well.

Excellent tour! Guide Antonio was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and the specifics of Alhambra. His language skills including the ability to read Arabic brought real depth to the experience. His stories were very enlightening. The pace of the walk including the stops were great.

We originally booked this tour because the general admission tickets for the Alhambra were sold out, but it was such a great call! Our tour guide Arnau was knowledgeable and friendly and showed us so many things we would have missed if we had just tried to visit on our own. He was very open to questions and made sure everyone got to see what they wanted. Small group size was just perfect!

Carmen was my guide, and she was fantastic! She brought incredible enthusiasm, humor, and knowledge to the tour. A highlight for me was when she timed our visit to the Palaces just right so that we could experience the light shining through the geometric windows and truly appreciate the importance of "noor" -the light of Islamic architecture - as a literal and figurative metaphor of spiritual unity. She did not rush us, either. She was great and I am so glad I booked this tour!
