This was a wonderful and informative tour. Our guide Troy gave us lots of history of the area and shared personal stories and jokes. Giants Causeway was breathtaking. The Dark Hedges were a little underwhelming. If you are a Game of Thrones fan it could be worth it. The scenery on the drive and the Causeway were the best part of the trip.

Stuart was an incredible and witty tour guide. He knew exactly how to keep the tour interesting through humor, historical facts, and cool Irish lore! I absolutely recommend this tour, for the sights are out of this world.

A misogynistic tour

Rowena_W, Aug 2026
Our driver, Mark, was great. The sights were wonderful. The commentary from our guide, Allan, was terrible. Instead of providing us with practical info about the sites we’d be visiting, he spent his time telling jokes about femicide, domestic violence against women, and singing misogynistic songs. When he asked why no one on the bus was laughing, he failed to respond to calls that violence against women isn’t funny. It’s 2026, City Sightseeing- you need to do better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience with the commentary on your tour. The comments and behaviour you describe are completely unacceptable and fall well below the standards we expect from anyone representing City Sightseeing Belfast. We take this feedback extremely seriously, particularly given the nature of the subjects involved. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the sights and that Mark provided a great experience as your driver. However, we fully appreciate that the commentary you experienced significantly detracted from your day. Please be assured that the guide involved will not be working with City Sightseeing Belfast again. We do not consider the conduct described in your review to be acceptable or representative of our company, our team, or the experience we want our customers to have. We sincerely apologise for the upset and disappointment caused and appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.

The Giant’s Causeway was awesome. The 2 castles were excellent & very different from each other so they complemented each other well. The Dark Hedges & lunch was ordinary. The coach was not luxury. The seats are fine if you are 5’3” (& I am) but not if you are 6’3” (which my husband is. It’s as comfortable as sitting in an economy plane seat with no extra leg room. The speakers in the coach did not work so we missed out on the commentary which was very disappointing.

We would highly recommend this trip as an opportunity to experience the breathtaking coastal scenery. Our driver, Dave, was outstanding in terms of his warm welcome, sense of humour and the insightful and extensive history he shared.

A definite must do day trip

Laura_F, Aug 2026
What an amazing day!!! Stuart was extremely knowledgeable and funny and he made the whole trip very enjoyable. The tour itself was great - it is a full day so we took drinks and snacks. There is a lunch stop at Dark Hedges however I’m gluten free and my friend is vegetarian so we took our own lunch and we were glad we did as it’s a buffet which is Chinese/fried food and lasagna. The castles were great, enough time to see it all but not too long that you felt you were just waiting for the coach to arrive to pick you back up. Definitely recommend the hotel at Giants Causeway for a drink - cosy chairs and nice drinks and a perfect place to sit and grab a drink after visiting the stones

Beautiful Sights, Great Tour

Meggen_T, Aug 2026
We had a fantastic experience on this tour! Stuart was an amazing guide who had a vast depth of knowledge and could converse on any topic. All the places we visited were lovely and we enjoyed every single one. Stuart gave us a great overview of the history and points of interest of all the places we visited and drove through. The bus was comfortable, clean, and everything about the trip was top notch!

Beautiful Scenic Tour

Marisa_B, Aug 2026
Costal drive that is enjoyable and beautiful with scenery. More stops (only 1) in 3 hrs + prior to lunch. Would have been beneficial to know that Carrickfergus Castle is closed Mondays. Additionally, we would prefer to hear more history regarding the country or region when participating in a tour. Otherwise, the tour is a good price and was pleasant.

Viator needs to update their website tour times

Steven_S, Jul 2026
I’m sure this tour was great. Viator got the times all wrong. They still have winter hours listed. We weren’t able to go because the bus driver thankfully checked on our cruise departure time. We would not make it back on time. He correctly predicted that we had booked with Viator. The new return time was over an hour later than the times we had booked. The bus driver was extremely helpful, but we missed out on seeing the Giants Causeway and spent our day in Belfast instead.

A good day out of Belfast.

Paul_R, Jul 2026
Our bus driver was excellent and got us to the various sites on the agenda for the day in good time and with excellent driving skills. We enjoyed each stop as we saw the various things to see. It was a good day and worthwhile taking this particular tour.

The craic

Steven_m, Jun 2026
The tour guide, Troy, puts his heart and soul into this tour and provides the ultimate example of the craic. Beautiful views. Possibly the only, very slight, disappointment was the giants causeway was smaller than expected!

A trip well worth considering

Lynn_A, Jun 2026
Mark, our driver, was excellent with a great sense of humour! Perfect balance of telling us about the area and attractions versus leaving us to just enjoy the journey. He also kept the group aware of running to time. A long day but the trip included several attractions.

Stuart was a great tour...

Emily_W, Jun 2026
Stuart was a great tour guide but with the rain and fog, it was difficult to see much of anything. I personally think this excursion would only be worth it on a sunny day.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for your review and for highlighting Stuart's excellent work. We're pleased to hear that you found him to be a great guide. We are, however, disappointed by the rating, as it appears to be based primarily on the weather conditions experienced during the tour. Unfortunately, rain and fog are completely outside of our control, and the landscapes and viewpoints we visit can look very different depending on the day's weather. Many guests enjoy these destinations in all conditions, and some even feel that the mist and changing weather add to the atmosphere and character of the scenery. While we understand that poor visibility can affect the experience, we feel it is somewhat unfair to judge the quality of the tour itself on factors that neither the guide nor the company can influence. That said, we appreciate your feedback and are glad that Stuart helped make the day enjoyable despite the challenging weather conditions.

One of the most amazing trips of my life

Natasha_A, Jun 2026
This was one of the best tours I've ever done, and it was also the highlight of my entire trip to Ireland. The Antrim Coast is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The Giants Causeway was so nice to visit and all it really wasn't very crowded. I highly recommend visiting. The lunch was a carvery and it was excellent, and the price was very reasonable, it was only about £20. The guide was excellent, too. I also felt like I had enough time everywhere.

The tour itself was good...

kinsellatd, Jun 2026
The tour itself was good however we were supposed to pass by 2 castles and basically we only saw them from a distance and not really pointed out. The guide, although very nice, was not very helpful in directing us appropriately. Also at the causeway … which was free… we were supposed to have free admission which we did not have and so could not go into gift shop and cafe

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tour overall. We would like to clarify that our itinerary allows approximately 30 minutes at each castle stop, which provides time for guests to get off the coach, explore the grounds, take photographs, and learn about the site. We are sorry if this was not your experience on the day. Regarding the Giant's Causeway, the free admission included with our tour is access to the Causeway stones themselves. Entry to the Visitor Centre, gift shop, and café is operated separately by the site and requires an additional ticket purchase. As this is an optional extra cost, we do not advertise Visitor Centre admission as being included in the tour. We would appreciate the opportunity to investigate your comments regarding the castle visits further. Could you please contact us directly with the date you travelled and the name of your driver/guide? This will allow us to review the tour and address any concerns with the team involved. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

Atrium Coast Road is amazing.

Pattipeg_H, May 2026
The Atrium Coast Road is amazing. When you get to the Causeway, you’ll walk down a long hill to the sea. At first, you’ll just see huge boulders lining the shore. Keep walking to get to the pillars. You have to pay £18.45 to get into the gift shop. Save your money and get souvenirs somewhere else.

Well Worth the money & amazing views on the way to the giants causeway

Sid_B, May 2026
Tour was well worth the money and each location picked was discussed and talked about in detail by the very knowledgeable coach driver. Would recommend 100% and each castle and stop was well worth a mooch. Plenty of rest stops along the way also as well as a lunch stop at a hotel/restaurant that did a buffet. Weather was good for all stops and if you want to see the giants causeway no better way to see it. Red and blue routes depending on distance and ability but the stairs down are steep so be aware. Will be using them again in future NI tours.

Great coach tour from a Tourist Trap skeptic

Jason_M, May 2026
As a seasoned Ireland visitor I try to avoid the tourist stuff, so I was a bit hesitant to join the coach tour. However, it proved to be a great experience. We lucked out with great weather and the coastline drive was scenic and enjoyable. Our guide, Stuart, had entertaining tidbits for the whole trip so the time passed quickly. Enjoyed both castles (Carricfergus and Dunluce, £4.50 entry to both), although a few more minutes at Dunluce would've been nice. Dark Hedges were fine. A bit underwhelming, IMO, but still worth checking out. The Giant's Causeway was amazing. Had a solid 2 hours there and saw everything I needed to see, plus grabbed a pint at The Nook to cap off the day. It's a long day, but you cover a lot of ground and have quite a bit of freedom when you're not on the bus. If you've never done the Causeway before, and don't have a local guide, I'd very much recommend this tour.

Great day trip

Meredith_R, May 2026
I had a wonderful time on the day tour. Stuart, our guide and driver, was a wealth of knowledge and very kind. The meeting point was easy to find (just look for the charter buses and guides in red jackets) and the bus was comfortable and clean. I would advise bringing a warm/waterproof jacket, as it gets windy, and to wear shoes that you can comfortably walk in on hilly/uneven terrain. Definitely budget a whole day for the tour, as we got back to Belfast shortly after 6 PM and you'll want to relax and probably grab a pint with newfound friends!

Maximum tour great price.

Deedra_T, May 2026
Beautiful views a great glimpse of the Ireland countryside. Bruce was an expert coach driver and Stuart was a great historian & full of great tales. It would have gotten a 5 star if I could have heard him better, but the people on the coach were so loud talking amongst themselves it made it difficult to hear him.
