We were picked up from our stay promptly at 10 am. Our driver/ tour guide was Leo. He was courteous to help us out with our luggage and gave us valuable information about Porto, Aveiro, Fatima and Lisbon. He also went out of way to show us costa Nueva. We had a very comfortable ride from Porto to Lisbon.

Be ready to walk, though the pace is comfortable; certain area of the city are uphill . Wear tennis shoes with good grip. Our guide Rosana Simao was wonderful, always minding her group’s needing and making sure we all had a great experience. At the end she emailed restaurants , bars and additional sites to visit.

Definitely worth going on this tour while you're in Porto

Our guide was Jose, who's a very experienced guide and easily switched between English and Spanish. We started in Costa Nova where we could take pictures of its typical houses but we didn't go to the beach. After Costa Nova, we went to Aveiro to enjoy a moliceiro boat ride on the Ria Aveiro and listened to commentary on the places that we saw on the way. We then went to a place called "Aveiro com Paixão LAB" which is a shop for Portuguese products and where we could taste Ovos Moles and the mint liquor. Definitely worth going on this tour while you're in Porto.

The tour was amazing. The walk itself is easy, visiting a bakery, the market, a grocery store and a small restaurant. The amount of food tasting was abundant and encompassed all different kinds of food and drink. João was super, our group of 6 had a great time! Highly recommended.

Fabulous well organised trip and Chris was great and very friendly! It’s a one and a hour hour journey each way but well worth it as the scenery is so beautiful. Wine/port tasting with bread and olives/olive oil then a delicious lunch with wine and desert great value for money and the other two couples were great company. Definitely recommend!

Highlight of my trip to Porto

The Douro valley is otherworldly in it's beauty, and this small group tour was wonderful. There were 7 of us, plus our fabulous driver, Anna. She negotiated the winding roads and brought us to two smaller vineyards to sample wines and have a hearty lunch. Oh, and there's a boat ride on the river, too.

Memorable Trip

Lovely experience. It definitely helped that the weather was fantastic but the two staff members (Maria and Marcelo, I think) were so good, informative and friendly, it helped make the trip a memorable event. We were lucky enough to share the trip with a group of Canadian bikers, who were great company.

Highlight of our trip! Our guide Teresa was excellent! Very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal. We visited several authentic food venues, a tavern, a bakery, a wine store. The food was delicious and so wasn’t the beer, wine and port. It was a small group of nine so we also met some wonderful people. Recommend!
