Good tour, great guide, a bit too crowded

Luciano was a great guide. Funny, enthusiastic, informative. One negative: we had 22 people in our group. That’s too many. Sometimes we had cram into spaces and couldn’t see all the details of a feature. This tour requires good mobility to go up and down steps, walk on uneven surface, climb hills, etc.

Tour is incredible. Pompeii is very large so 2 hours will only graze surface. You might want to go back if you enjoy the first trip. Tour guide was excellent. Lunch was okay; would prefer to order from a menu rather than only have 2 options. The mountain hike was great! Takes 45 minutes to get to the top up steep switch backs. At the top you can drink a beer and celebrate. Lastly Antonio Carola, the driver is Valentina was one of the best parts of the tour. The man was funny and friendly. He drove so smooth which is unheard of in Naples. 5/5

Amazing experience....

Amazing experience. Gabriella was our Pompeii tour guide, very knowledgeable and kept us on time and made sure we saw as much as possible. I can’t thank this tour group enough as our cruise ship ran late, and they worked with us so we could still go on the tour and have transportation. Wear comfortable shoes, and definitely bring a jacket for Vesuvius, the wind makes it very cold even in 70+ degree weather. Took us around 20 minutes to get to the top without experience hiking, take your time going up and it’s not bad but pretty steep. We would go everyday if we could! Andrea our bus driver was great going up as well.

Excellent Tour; A couple notes however.

Excellent excursion. Exactly as described. You have two guides: the first accompanied you to the start of the the Vesuvius hike and afterwards until you enter the Pompei ruins. The Pompei guide takes over after lunch. Very good hike up Vesuvius. Audioguide provided interesting information. Tour guide at Pompei also was excellent. A couple notes: the time allowed at Vesuvius should be 15-30 minutes longer. .We are strong hikers but the time to take in the views felt rushed; slower hikers may have trouble completing it on time. Also, you are given one hour free time between Vesuvius and Pompei for lunch on your own.
