Simone was our guide through her hometown of Catania to taste some of the delicious food they are known for. It was an easy 15 minute walk from the cruise port to our meeting place. There were about 12 in our group so at times it was a bit difficult to navigate into the small shops and streets of Catania. Was also a bit difficult for all of us to hear what Simone was saying but she was happy to repeat when needed. We stopped at five different places to eat but also learned about the town and local customs as we went. We all loved the food at each stop and had a great time.

Marcello was absolutely amazing!! He was so informative on how to cook everything and showed us techniques we can use at home. We made wonderful Sicilian dishes and also got a tour of the market in the area which was so much fun and it showed us a lot of the culture here in Palermo. I highly recommend!!

A great day trip

A great day. The walk on Etna was a bit of a challenge in part but our guide Itala was fantastic. She helped me down some steep slopes and paced the walk well considering her participants safety and skills. She was also a great driver. Two hours in Taormina was enough time to see a couple of the sites.

From our meeting point, we walked to a little market and sampled some of the fresh veggies we would be cooking with, then were driven in a van down to the Chef's place on the beach. This is a family run business and they were all so warm and welcoming! The cooking class was run seamlessly with excellent breaks and explanations throughout. We absolutely loved making the various pasta shapes! Also, the swordfish we made was one of the best things we had while in Sicily. Great group and just an exceptional experience!

Fabulous Etna Wine Tour!

We had an incredible time on our Mount Etna winery tour! Our driver, Guiliano, was truly wonderful, sharing fun stories and myths about Mount Etna throughout the day. We started the day at La Gelsomina, where we toured the grape fields and sampled three wines with an olive oil and bread pairing. Next, we stopped for lunch at Antichivini Vini di Sicilia, where we got to meet the two winemaking brothers and had a delicious lunch which included antipasti, pasta alla norma, and of course, dolci. We were able to sample six different wines, including an almond wine and moscato. Finally, we ended the day at Neri for a three wine tasting on their beautiful property complete with local cheeses and meats. We did not leave hungry! We also were able to purchase bottles at each winery, but appreciated that there was no hard sell. Overall, we thought the tour was a highlight of our trip and cannot recommend it enough!

This was so much fun. The CruiserCar was simply the best mode of travel for learning about Palermo. It was a beautiful day, and was the most peaceful excursion on our trip. We traveled about half way up Etna from Taormina with our friends. We explored calderas and lava caves(inactive). After this, we were taken to Gambino winery. Luca, our tour guide, was very informative, engaging, and took care of us. The tour lasted approximately 8 hours. Overall a great experience with Luca, I highly recommend! .

Lovely boat trip

Excellent boat trip and lovely end to our trip to Palermo. On Viator it’s advertised at 3pm but as it gets dark earlier in November, they got in touch with a suggested earlier time and were very accommodating. Angela and her son were kind and friendly. First they took us to Mondello (beautiful spot) and docked so we could swim. Then they prepared a tasty Sicilian street food platter and Aperol Spritz. Then we sailed back towards Palermo and stopped at Queen’s Cave for a second swim and quick exploration. As the sun set, they provided us with cannoli, limoncello and fun music. Lovely time, thank you again :-)
