Great tour if you are limited on time

I did a cave tour here way back in 1997 but this time we opted for.something a little tamer. Boat tour is the way to go if you don't have the whole day and we were on a cruise ship. We arrived a few days early and they picked us up from the hotel at Princess Wharf. Great guide who gave us history and comedy along the way. It was a fantastic tour! As a retired professional firefighter/driver for a fire department, I can say most people don't notice a driver's habits unless it's a bad habit. At all times, Steve's priority was our safety. He always parked in safe areas and checked to make sure everything was clear before anyone got out. Smooth braking, acceleration and lane changes. A little technical glitch with his microphone but he overcame that and just used his voice. Cooler full of water, some snacks, local history throughout the drive and genuinely, a very personable guy. We enjoyed every minute. Steve is a gem and you are lucky to have someone like him representing your company. Whatever you're doing, keep it up. Wholeheartedly recommend this tour and the driver Steve. Thank you

The experience with viator specially with Steven our tour guide have been pleasant and considerate to our group even made the effort to pick us up and dropped off on our accommodation. Amazing Hobbiton

It was a wonderful experience. The set is beautiful and the fact that it is an active sheep and cattle farm makes the experience more realistic hearing the sheep as you tour the set. I would highly recommend a visit to Hobbiton. The tour company was great. Very well organized and the driver was very knowledgeable and friendly.

A Beautiful ten year wedding anniversary trip.

🙂😀 The journey out was breathtaking, seeing parts of the Earth 🌎 as they were when Noah came off of the Ark.- Genesis 8:15-17 We didn't get to see these "great sea creatures" (Genesis 1:21) up close and personal, but we could see them off in the distance. With the way human beings behave, we don't blame them for keeping their distance. Wonderful experience. The staff were outstanding. 🙂😀

Both Waitomo and Hobbiton...

Both Waitomo and Hobbiton are must see locations. Great sights had their system down to a T to get the group around and keep on a time schedule. Our driver, Nikki did a lovely job giving us tons of information during the drive between sites. She pointed out landmarks and points of interest, and had lots of information about native plants and animals. It made the bus ride enjoyable.

Magical

This was a magical experience, we got to see a amazing place that honestly felt like something out of the movies. On top of all that the guides we had were amazing, they do a great job giving details about New Zealand and how the caves are formed. It also helps that the group size is small. Overall a magical experience you should definitely try.

One Day: Two Once in a Lifetime Experiences

We had limited time in Auckland and this tour paired our love of LOTR with a snapshot of the beauty the North Island boasts. Our guide, Sam, was attentive, kind, and found the perfect balance between keeping us on schedule and allowing us to explore at our own pace. The Hobbiton gives you a lush look at the sets and countryside that you truly have to see to believe and recently they opened a Hobbit Hole that you can walk in and explore! The Glowworm cave is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! A little spooky and spiritual, but also an incredible way to take a slow moment to appreciate nature in all its glory. If you are a jet lagged traveler who wants a thorough exploration of some iconic North Island countryside and a taste of adventure in woods without all the hassle of driving—this is the tour for you! **Also, this tour group KNOWS what worries us anxious types and does an amazing job communicating timelines around bathroom breaks, drive times, shop times, and even lets you pre-pick your meals!

Must see visit to Hobbiton and Waitomo

We had a wonderful day with Clint. He was very knowledgeable about the tour and surrounding area. The visit to Hobbiton village was magical, just amazing! The glow worms at Waitomo caves were spectacular, never seen that before. A fair amount of driving was involved but it was nice to see so much of the countryside.

One of best experiences i...

One of best experiences i had during this trip. Great daytrip from Auckland to Rotorua, during which we saw waiotapu geothermal activity and te puia Māori centre with 3rd largest geyser in the world and saw Māori performance. Aaron, our guide was amazing and really helpful, told us very interesting stories about new zealand.

Wow what a great day

We went with cheeky kiwi tours who proved to be excellent. We were on a short time frame but able to do this while our cruise ship was in port. Driver picked us up on time and dropped us off close to port at. 6.45pm plenty of time to make our boarding time. The whole bus ride in was entertaining as the driver pointed out lots of different places. At Hobbiton you are transported by the big green bus to the actual movie set. The set is in the middle of a working farm and we saw lots of lambs and sheep. The tour is a walking tour around all the houses. They have built a whole house do you can really explore and experience how it feels from the inside. We ended the tour at the inn where we had a cider. Would recommend this for all ages it was great fun even if you have never seen any of the movies. We had a little rain but umbrellas were provided.

Grand slam tour with Timmy

The time flew by with Timmy who gave us so much information during the tour and took us to some great spots for food and snacks. He was also quite the DJ and a very entertaining host. Waitomo is truly something that is unique and was great to learn about and we also were able to see some kiwis, see the geothermal activity and learn a lot about the Māori culture.
