3 Days in Los Cabos for Families
Los Cabos has plenty to offer visiting families—the dining scene is pretty relaxed, and there are many activities to keep you as busy as you want to be. My favorite Los Cabos trips start with a food tour so I can taste local specialties—and get my fill of street tacos. My kids always want to get out on the water, especially during whale-watching season.
With three days in Los Cabos with children, you can easily spend the morning snorkeling or horseback riding, and then enjoy a lazy afternoon on a boat cruise to the Arch of Cabo San Lucas (El Arco). Here's a 3-day Los Cabos itinerary for families to get you started on your trip planning.

If you only have time for one thing, make it a Los Cabos boat excursion.
Start your family vacation on a snorkeling excursion along the Cabo coastline to Chileno Bay or Santa Maria Bay. Most tours offer the convenience of hotel pickup, with snacks or lunch and an open bar typically included.
Once you've worked up an appetite, explore the town of Cabo San Lucas, including its taco stands. A tasting tour can take you to hole-in-the-wall spots popular with locals. Many tours include a refreshing paleta (fruit popsicle) at the end—a perfect reward for well-behaved kids.
Visiting Los Cabos from November–April means a whale-watching cruise is a must-do. If you have older kids, begin day two with the thrill of a Zodiac boat ride, which can move quickly to locations where whales are spotted in the Sea of Cortez or Pacific Ocean. Children under age 5 are better suited to a traditional boat cruise.
In the evening, introduce your family to the cultural attractions of San José del Cabo. Many sites are open to the public, such as the San Jose del Cabo Church (Parroquia San José), but a historical walking tour will let a guide answer all of your kids' burning questions.
On day three, set off on a Los Cabos ziplining adventure over rocky ravines. Keep in mind that the temps creep up in the afternoon, so a morning excursion might be your best bet.
Los Cabos sunsets are epic, and the best way to see them is from the water. Top off your Cabo vacay with a pirate dinner cruise that includes lively performances and audience participation—it’s an entertaining way to remember your time in Baja California Sur.
