Day Trips from Syracuse to Noto

To discover the Baroque beauty secrets, enjoy an incredible full-day adventure, dedicated to the exploration of three fascinating UNESCO heritage sites: Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Noto. Our driver escort will be available for you, to allow you to enjoy this private tour. The first stop of the tour will be Ragusa Ibla: old and Baroque city where you can admire numerous eighteenth-century churches and buildings on which important sculptors and architects have worked. Another jewel of the Sicilian Baroque: Modica. You will visit the town and you can live a real journey into the tradition of Sicilian cuisine (the lunch is optional). We will head towards the capital of Baroque: Noto. You will visit the Cathedral of San Nicolò, whose construction began at the end of 1600 and the most important building which is Palazzo Ducezio, seat of the town hall, built in 1700.  A few steps away there is Via Nicolaci, famous throughout the world for the Infiorata.

The first stage of the tour will be Noto, the beautiful Baroque city, full of important historic buildings all built with local stone, with a golden color tending towards pink. You will enter through Porta Reale, the gate to the city, and then continue with a walk along the main street overlooked by the cathedral of San Nicolò, whose construction began at the end of the 1600s. You will be fascinated by the most important building in the city, Palazzo Ducezio, seat of the town hall, and by Via Nicolaci, famous all over the world for its Infiorata. This will be followed by a visit to Portopalo di Capo Passero, a seaside village at the extreme southern tip of Sicily, which offers spectacular sea views and acts as a watershed between the Ionian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Then Marzamemi awaits you: you will reach the heart of the village to relax in the square overlooked by the palace of the Prince of Villadorata, built in 1752 in sandstone.

Discover Noto and Marzamemi in a single day tour. Noto is considered the capital of the Sicilian Baroque, declared a World Heritage Site since 2002. A walk in the heart of the city along the main street interspersed with large spaces, scenic stairways and narrow streets that combine terraces and gradients. A unitary reconstruction of a coherent urban fabric where the use of the soft local stone with a color between gold and pink, richly carved, stands out. You will discover this beautiful town. After the visit to Noto, you will continue towards Marzamemi, a small fishing village with characteristic colors. Here after a short walk through the alleys full of colorful Sicilian handicraft shops or enjoy one of the typical aperitifs of the place. You can also visit a Tonnara and discover the ancient tradition of fishing and the processing of fish products and taste them, such as bluefin tuna roe.
