Old City Walking Tour

The private tour cost around $220 USD for both of us We had a great experience on a guided walking tour of Istanbul's Old City. Our guide provided excellent, personalized insights, starting with the Blue Mosque, which we accessed with no wait time because of our early morning start , and the nearby Hippodrome, where we learned about the city's Roman connections. Having visited the Hagia Sophia before, we skipped it this time due to the entrance fee and coverings of much of the interior. Instead, we used that time to explore the Topkapi Palace (approx. $62 USD per person). Our guide provided an introduction and allowed us free time to explore at our own pace. Next, we visited the Binbirdirek Cistern. While it was a beautiful, unique experience, it cost roughly $45 USD per person and we were only inside for 10 minutes. Budget-conscious travelers may want to consider if the high cost is worth a brief visit. We finished the day with lunch in the Old City and a walk through the Grand Bazaar. Traveler Tip: Be sure to budget for the high admission fees of attractions (Cistern, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia) when planning your tour, as these are not included in the tour booking. Note, the provider was upfront that the fees are noted in the description of the tour. I can't recall if the description included appropriate costs. If not, that would be my only feedback. Our guide was amazing, knowledgable and passionate about the city and country and its history.

Three Historic Sites in One Tour

Really enjoyed this tour with John (sp) as our guide. We got so much more out of this tour than if we went on our own. All the sites were exceptional and we certainly appreciated the fast track into the Basilica Cistern as lines were very long. Our guide spoke great English, informed us of tremendous amount of history while being quite amusing as well. It was a great way to spend our first day in Istanbul. Highly recommend!

When visiting Stockholm it’s a must to go to the Vasa Museum to see and hear about the 400year old warship. Our guide Katherine was excellent. Her knowledge and passion for sharing the amazing history of the Vasa was fantastic. We loved her energy and easy going nature while sharing the historical facts surrounding the sinking recovery and restoration of the famous Stockholm Vasa warship. David was a great tour guide. We started in Gamla Stan and made our way to Norrmalm. Along the way David gave us information about the area, history, the food, and answered our many questions about life in Sweden. The food was tasty and plentiful. David kept us entertained and set a good pace for everyone in our group. He also gave us recommendations for other good places to eat. I would recommend this tour for a good taste of traditional Swedish food.

Absolutely Great Experience

We had a great experience with Calle. Calle was very informative and extremely knowledgeable. He was great! My wife and I felt we learned sooo much from Calle. The Viking era was very interesting and Calle educated us on soo much. We really appreciate it. We also enjoyed Calle giving us time to visit and explore areas on our own while he waited in the vehicle. He explained the history, then gave us plenty of time to absorb the history. The only criticism I would mention about Calle……..was he was a Packer Fan. Oh No!!!!!! LOL. But he was absolutely great. DA BEARS!

Best way to cover a lot of ground!

Oscar was a warm and friendly guide who skillfully drove us all over Stockholm, pointing out the highlights of this beautiful city. The golf cart is a much better way to tour than a car, especially in the narrow cobblestone streets. Oscar told us all about the history and gave us insight into daily life of the friendly inhabitants of this cosmopolitan city. I highly recommend this experience!
